Promotions or Special Offers

As a public dog exercise area managed by the local municipal park system in Brookfield, Mitchell Park Dog Exercise Areas typically do not offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a private business would. Its inherent value lies in being an accessible and well-maintained public amenity.

  • Free Public Access (Generally): While some Waukesha County dog parks require permits, information for Mitchell Park Dog Exercise Areas specifically from the City of Brookfield does not explicitly mention a fee requirement for the dog exercise area itself. This generally means the park is free to use for residents, which is a significant "promotion" in itself, providing immense value without a direct cost per visit. It's always advisable to verify any current permit requirements with the City of Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Consistent Availability: The park is typically open during standard park hours (e.g., 6 AM to 10 PM), providing extensive opportunities for locals to utilize the space on their schedule. This consistent availability is a significant "offer" for dog owners who need flexible options for exercising their pets.
  • Health and Wellness Benefits: The ongoing "promotion" is the immeasurable health and wellness benefits it provides for dogs: a safe place to run, play, socialize, and burn calories. This contributes to a healthier weight, improved cardiovascular health, and reduced anxiety for canine companions.
  • Community Building: For owners, the park offers a unique "offer" of social connection. It's a place where they can meet other local dog owners, share advice, and build friendships, fostering a supportive community for pet enthusiasts. The presence of

friendly patrons with a community of local regulars

Very nice spot to take my dog to run during the day. There was no one there at 1230pm on a Tuesday. My only ‘complaint’ and it’s not so much on the park as the people who go there, there is dog poop all over the perimeter. Pick up after your dog people!! Also leash your dog outside of the park. On other occasions I saw people walking back to their car without leashing their dog.

Should be noted this dog park isn't entirely fenced, only the smaller dog area is completely fenced. City of Brookfield does 4th of July fireworks at this park and when the firework debris comes down it lands in the dog park. Attached are just some of the piles of firework debris (pics taken in September, 2 months after the 4th of July and no it's not tree bark). I asked a park ranger if the public is allowed to set off fireworks in this park and she said no, the city is the only one allowed. This confirms to me that the city has not taken responsibility and picked up the debris. When I brought up that I have found firework debris her response was " I wouldn't know about that I didn't work the 4th of July". It consistently has issues with owners not picking up after their dog, I highly recommend keeping your eyes down so you don't step in any.

Great place to be outside with the pooch. Easy path in the woods too. Always find a tennis ball to throw in the fields and plenty of random bowls for thirsty dogs. Near a fun park for the human puppies too.
