This is a great, medium-sized dog park, but it’s not super close to the road or easy to get to. I have picture instructions below. If you go to the Concord library light, take a left at that light (if you’re coming from the highway direction) go straight until you see the dog park sign by a parking lot on the right (first picture). Park, then walk through the tunnel (3rd pic). After the tunnel, walk toward the bathrooms and veer left (4th pic). Go on the trail through the pretty tree canopy (5th pic), and then you’ll see the large dog park on the left! It’s spacious, nice, small waking area, lots of places for agility training, water for pups, my dog loved it.

Parking is generally ample at Tower Park, providing convenience for visitors. Once parked, you'll embark on a pleasant short walk to reach the fenced dog park area. This involves walking through a tunnel and then veering left past the bathrooms, following a trail that winds through a "pretty tree canopy." This scenic walk adds to the park's charm, making the journey part of the experience. While it requires a bit of navigation, the well-maintained paths and clear signage within Tower Park ensure you'll find your way to this fantastic canine haven. Miss Peggy's Bark Park is well-equipped to provide a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners:

  • Two Separate Fenced Play Areas: The park is intelligently divided into two distinct, securely fenced sections to cater to different dog sizes and energy levels. There is a 1.5-acre fenced area for large dogs and a .65-acre fenced area specifically for small dogs. This separation is a highly valued service, promoting safer and more comfortable playtime for all.

  • Water Stations and Hydrants: Hydration is crucial for active pups, especially in Tennessee's climate. Both sections of the park feature water stations and hydrants, ensuring that fresh drinking water is readily available for your canine companions. This thoughtful amenity means owners don't have to carry large amounts of water.

  • Agility Training Elements: For dogs who love to jump, climb, or weave, the park offers "lots of places for agility training." While specific equipment may vary, the presence of these elements provides an additional layer of engagement and physical stimulation for active dogs.

  • Shaded Benches: Throughout both play areas, you'll find shaded benches. These provide comfortable resting spots for owners to observe their dogs, chat with other dog parents, or simply enjoy a moment of peace under the shade, enhancing the human experience at the park.

  • Waste Stations: To maintain the park's cleanliness and promote responsible pet ownership, waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles are available. This ensures visitors can easily pick up after their dogs, contributing to the park's well-maintained reputation.

  • Long Park with Running Room: The layout of the park is described as a "long park with plenty of room to run," providing ample space for dogs to sprint and get significant exercise, which is essential for their physical well-being.

Miss Peggy's Bark Park stands out due to several key features and highlights that enhance the overall experience for dogs and their owners:

  • Exceptional Maintenance and Cleanliness: Visitors consistently praise the park for being "well-kept" and "very nice and well kept." The dedication to cleanliness, with hardly any unpicked-up dog poop, contributes significantly to a pleasant and hygienic environment.

  • Secure Fencing: The fences are described as "very strong and secure," which provides essential peace of mind for owners, allowing their dogs to run off-leash with confidence that they are safely contained within the designated areas.

  • Separate Areas for Dogs of All Sizes: The distinct 1.5-acre large dog area and .65-acre small dog area are a major highlight. This separation caters to the diverse needs of canine visitors, ensuring a more comfortable and safer environment for all, regardless of size or temperament.

  • Natural Shade and Scenic Walk: The park benefits from natural shade provided by trees, offering cool spots for dogs and owners. The approach to the park through a "pretty tree canopy" trail also adds to its natural charm and provides a pleasant warm-up walk.

  • Friendly Community: Customer reviews often highlight that "the dog owners that frequent there are great, too!" This suggests a positive and responsible community of pet parents, making the social aspect of the park enjoyable for both humans and their furry companions.

  • Agility Elements for Added Fun: The presence of "agility training" areas offers an extra layer of entertainment and physical stimulation for dogs, allowing them to hone their skills and burn off energy in a structured way.

As a public dog park managed by the City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation, Miss Peggy's Bark Park (formerly Barkwood Dog Park) does not typically offer traditional commercial "promotions or special offers" like discounts or membership programs. Its primary "promotion" is the consistent provision of a free, well-maintained, and secure off-leash environment for all Brentwood residents and their canine companions. This free accessibility is a significant and ongoing benefit to the local community.

However, being located within Tower Park, the dog park is part of a larger recreational complex that occasionally hosts various community events. While not directly tied to the dog park itself, these events could offer additional value or entertainment during your visit. For example, Tower Park sometimes hosts local festivals, outdoor gatherings, or charity events. Any such public events would be promoted through the City of Brentwood's official website, Parks and Recreation department announcements, or local community calendars. We recommend checking these resources for any infrequent happenings that might coincide with your dog park visit and enhance your overall experience at Tower Park. The daily value of a free, clean, and amenity-rich space remains its most significant and continuous "special offer" for locals.

Hours of Operation: Miss Peggy's Bark Park is generally open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily, seven days a week. It is always advisable to confirm current hours on the official City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation website (brentwoodtn.gov/departments/parks-recreation/parks-trails-greenways/barkwood-dog-park) for any seasonal changes or unexpected closures.

While there isn't a direct staff presence at the dog park itself, the City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for its upkeep and can be contacted for any concerns or questions. Their official website is the authoritative source for the most up-to-date information regarding the park, including rules and any relevant announcements.

For locals in Brentwood and the surrounding areas, Miss Peggy's Bark Park is an exceptionally suitable and highly recommended destination for their furry companions. Its "great, medium-sized" yet "spacious" layout provides ample room for dogs to run and play freely, a crucial aspect for their physical and mental well-being. The intelligent design with two separate fenced areas for large and small dogs is a significant advantage, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all pups, regardless of their size or temperament.

The park's consistent maintenance, evident in its cleanliness and secure fencing, offers crucial peace of mind to owners. Furthermore, the availability of water for pups, shaded benches for humans, and agility training areas elevate the park experience beyond just an open field. Even with the slightly hidden access, the "pretty tree canopy" walk leading to the park adds to its charm, making the journey part of the overall pleasant experience. The positive atmosphere cultivated by the "great" dog owners who frequent the park creates a welcoming community, solidifying Miss Peggy's Bark Park as a cherished and invaluable resource for dog lovers across Tennessee.

Great spot when it's dry! Long park with plenty of room to run. The dog owners that frequent there are great, too!

This dog park is very nice and spacious. The only problem I had was getting the directions on the GPS right. The Directions almost had me get on the 65 going N. I ended up making a u turn and parking next to a recreational center, then walking through a soccer field to get to the dog park. Nice walk.

This dog park was fantastic and I enjoyed it and my dog loved it too. Make sure you park close by (the Brentwood Library or rec center) then you’ll find a pathway. It was confusing because I didn’t know but there is like a short walk to the park ( don’t worry is not long). There are two sections (big and small dogs), IT IS FENCED :) , and an obstacle course. When I went there were many other dogs (weekend) so my dog loved the company (don’t worry it’s wasn’t crowed or anything like that). But it’s really sweet.

The city of Brentwood really dropped the ball on this park. It seems more like pandering than a genuine interest in providing a space so dog owners can socialize their dogs. Check out the fair dog park in Nashville as a good design that is also minimal. Pathetic dog park. I saw lots of people walking dogs and no one to play with
