Welcome to K9 Korner Dog Park
For dog owners living in Wisconsin, particularly in the vibrant city of Kenosha, finding a fantastic spot where our canine companions can truly be themselves – running freely, socializing, and burning off that boundless energy – is essential. K9 Korner Dog Park stands out as a beloved local gem, providing a dedicated and well-maintained environment for dogs to enjoy off-leash freedom. It’s more than just a park; it's a community hub where tails wag, friendships are forged, and both dogs and their humans can unwind and connect with fellow pet lovers.
Opened in the Fall of 2014, K9 Korner Dog Park was the City of Kenosha's first official dog park, a much-anticipated addition for the local pet community. Its establishment addressed a significant need for a designated off-leash area, and since its inception, it has consistently delivered on its promise of providing a safe and enjoyable space. The park's design and ongoing maintenance reflect a commitment to the well-being of its four-legged visitors, making it a reliable and cherished destination for daily outings or weekend adventures.
Visitors frequently praise K9 Korner for its welcoming atmosphere and the generally well-behaved canine population it attracts. This positive environment is crucial for both dogs and owners, ensuring that every visit is a pleasant experience. For Kenosha residents, having such a resource so close to home means easy access to vital exercise and socialization for their furry family members, contributing significantly to a healthy and happy pet lifestyle in Wisconsin.
K9 Korner Dog Park is conveniently located at 8732 22nd Ave, Kenosha, WI 53143, USA. More precisely, it is situated within Anderson Park, near the intersection of 89th Street and 22nd Avenue. This central Kenosha location makes it highly accessible for residents across the city and surrounding areas in Wisconsin. Its placement within an established park area typically ensures good road access and clear directions, making it easy for both regular visitors and newcomers to find.
One of the significant advantages of K9 Korner is its accessibility in terms of entry. Unlike some other dog parks that may require annual passes or daily fees, K9 Korner Dog Park is free to use, which is a fantastic benefit for the Kenosha community. While there's no fee, all dogs must have complete and current vaccinations and licenses, and wear valid dog tags, ensuring a safe and responsible environment for all users. Dog licenses for city residents can typically be purchased at the City Clerk's office at the Municipal Building in Kenosha.
Ample street parking is generally available near the park entrance, providing convenient access for visitors. The design of the park, with a specific entry and exit protocol (dogs must be leashed until inside the fenced area), further enhances its accessibility and safety, ensuring a smooth transition from leash to off-leash play. This combination of a central location, free access, and clear entry guidelines makes K9 Korner Dog Park an incredibly user-friendly and inviting destination for Wisconsin dog owners.
K9 Korner Dog Park offers a range of services and amenities designed to ensure a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable experience for both dogs and their owners. These thoughtful provisions highlight the park's dedication to the well-being of its visitors.
- Provided Dog Waste Bags: The park ensures that doggie poop bags are available, promoting cleanliness and responsible pet ownership. This is a crucial amenity for maintaining a pleasant and hygienic environment for all.
- Separate Large and Small Dog Areas: The park is thoughtfully divided into distinct sections for small dogs and large dogs. This separation is vital for safety and comfort, allowing dogs to play with companions of appropriate size and energy levels.
- Picnic Tables: Several picnic tables are available, offering comfortable spots for owners to sit, relax, and observe their dogs at play. These tables also serve as a gathering point for regulars.
- Shade Structure: A recently installed structure provides much-needed shade. This is a significant improvement, as the young trees in the park are still growing, offering a comfortable respite during sunny weather.
- Water Access: While not explicitly detailed as spigots, sources indicate that dog drinking water is available, ensuring dogs can stay hydrated during their visit.
The features and highlights of K9 Korner Dog Park are what truly make it a beloved destination for Kenosha dog owners. These elements combine to create a dynamic, engaging, and secure environment for canine recreation.
- Expansive Running Space: The park offers "plenty of space for running," allowing dogs to stretch their legs and burn off energy in a secure, fenced area. This open space is crucial for high-energy breeds and for general canine fitness.
- Dedicated Play Zones: The division into separate areas for large and small dogs is a key feature, promoting safer and more comfortable play interactions. It allows smaller or more timid dogs to play without being overwhelmed, while larger dogs have ample room for their more vigorous activities.
- Community Hangout for Regulars: As noted by a visitor, the park "seems to be quite the hangout for regulars," fostering a strong sense of community. This means you'll often find friendly faces and well-socialized dogs, creating a welcoming atmosphere for new visitors.
- Defunct Fire Hydrants: While practical utility isn't mentioned, the presence of "two defunct fire hydrants" adds a quirky, dog-park-specific touch that can serve as a fun landmark or photo opportunity within the park.
- New Shade Structure: The installation of a shade structure is a significant highlight, addressing a common need in parks with young trees. This provides a comfortable spot for owners and dogs to cool off during sunny days.
- Well-Behaved Dogs: Customer reviews consistently mention that "the dogs usually all get along," indicating a generally positive and harmonious environment where canine interactions are largely constructive.

Apr 18, 2025 · Joseph PlewkaIt's a quaint little park with what seems to be quite the hangout for regulars. The dogs usually all get along and there's plenty of space for running. I was glad to see they installed a structure for shade as the trees are too young yet. Overall it's a great go-to that's close to home.
Oct 11, 2024 · Angela Jo LaseckiNice place to bring your K9 family. The pet owners aren’t always attentive to their pets so be careful and keep an eye on your buddies when visiting. Usually pretty clean sometimes prepare leave bags in case you forget some but it’s not something the parks people supply so don’t forget yours.
Aug 14, 2024 · Xochilt DelacruzOur pup always makes good friends here! The wood chips are uncomfortable to walk on for sensitive feet. Also, it would be awesome if we could do a fundraiser to build another canopy on the small dog side.
Aug 11, 2024 · Heidi ZVery big fenced play area for your dog.
