I love taking my dog to this dog park! It is very well maintained! The dog park is huge with tons of trees and a nice obstacle course for my dog to practice her skills on. Across from the dog park is a nice area of trails, but the dog needs to be on a leash on that side of the park. Sometimes there is maintenance and they have sides of the park closed, but it usually doesn’t stay closed for long.

Hounds Hollow Dog Park stands out as a premier destination for residents of Bonney Lake and surrounding areas in Pierce County. What makes it so special is its sheer size and diverse terrain, offering far more than just a simple open field. As one delighted visitor described, it's "huge with tons of trees and a nice obstacle course," providing varied environments for dogs to engage with. It's a secure, fully fenced area where owners can feel confident letting their dogs run freely, knowing they are safe. Beyond just exercise, Hounds Hollow serves as a vital community hub where "my dog meets new buddies or gets to see returning buddies," and "people there are also nice and have lots to share about dog talk." This friendly atmosphere makes every visit a pleasant experience for both ends of the leash, cementing its status as a beloved local amenity in Washington. Whether it's "rain or shine," this park is a popular choice for daily outings and a testament to the community's commitment to its four-legged residents.

Hounds Hollow Dog Park is situated in the beautiful Bonney Lake, WA 98391, USA. More specifically, it is a key amenity within the master-planned Tehaleh community, known for its emphasis on outdoor living and natural beauty. This location makes it highly accessible for residents of Bonney Lake, Sumner, Orting, and other nearby communities in Pierce County.

Accessibility to Hounds Hollow Dog Park is generally excellent. There is ample free parking available nearby, ensuring convenience for visitors arriving by car. The park's integration within Tehaleh, a community designed with walkability in mind, means it's also accessible via internal trails for Tehaleh residents. Furthermore, the park itself is designed with accessibility in mind, often featuring wheelchair-accessible paths, making it convenient for all dog owners. While there are separate trails outside the fenced dog park area (where dogs must be leashed), the off-leash portion is easily navigable. The clear signage and well-maintained pathways contribute to a stress-free arrival and departure. For Washington locals, its convenient location and ease of access make it a go-to spot for regular dog outings, blending seamlessly into an active, outdoor-oriented lifestyle.

Hounds Hollow Dog Park, as a public amenity, offers several essential provisions and features that cater to the needs of dogs and their owners.

  • Expansive Off-Leash Area: The primary service is providing a very large, fully fenced space where dogs can run freely off-leash, crucial for their physical health and behavioral well-being.

  • Canine Socialization Hub: It serves as a vibrant meeting point for dogs, facilitating healthy social interactions and allowing them to meet "new buddies" or reunite with "returning buddies."

  • Agility and Obstacle Course: The presence of an obstacle course allows dogs to engage in mental and physical challenges beyond just running, promoting skill development and enrichment.

  • Water Access for Dogs: A water fountain (dog hydrant) is available to keep dogs hydrated, though owners are encouraged to bring their own bowls, and the main dispenser button might be off in winter.

  • Waste Management: The park provides poop bags and trash receptacles, encouraging and enabling responsible pet waste disposal to keep the area clean for everyone.

  • Varied Terrain for Exploration: With both open fields and forested paths within the off-leash area, dogs can explore diverse scents and environments, adding to their enrichment.

Hounds Hollow Dog Park is distinguished by several key features and highlights that consistently earn it high praise from Washington dog owners.

  • Impressive Size: Described as "huge," the park offers ample space, ensuring dogs have plenty of room to run, play, and spread out, even during busy times. This prevents overcrowding and allows for more natural dog interactions.

  • Diverse Play Environments: It features a large open grassy area perfect for fetching and high-energy play, as well as forested paths within the off-leash zone, offering varied sniffing opportunities and exploration.

  • Agility Course: The inclusion of an obstacle course or agility equipment provides mental stimulation and an opportunity for dogs to practice and develop their skills, adding another dimension to playtime.

  • Fully Fenced and Secure: The entire off-leash area is fully fenced with a double-gated entrance, offering a high level of security that gives owners peace of mind, especially for dogs with high prey drive or limited recall.

  • Abundant Shade and Seating: "Tons of trees" provide natural shade, and there are shaded seating areas for owners to relax and supervise their dogs comfortably, even on sunny days.

  • Well-Maintained: Visitors consistently praise the park for being "very well maintained," indicating a commitment to cleanliness and usability by the managing authority.

  • Wheelchair Accessible: The park includes wheelchair-accessible paths, ensuring that all community members, regardless of mobility, can enjoy the space with their pets.

  • Dog-Friendly Trail Connectivity: While dogs must be leashed on this side, there's a "nice area of trails" across from the dog park, allowing for extended outings and scenic walks in the "woody smell" of the forest.

As a well-regarded public park amenity within the Tehaleh community and Bonney Lake, Hounds Hollow Dog Park operates on a principle of free access for all visitors. Therefore, it does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounts, loyalty programs, or paid memberships. Its primary value proposition is its consistent provision of a high-quality, free-to-use recreational space for dogs and their owners.

The "promotion" for Hounds Hollow comes in the form of its inherent value: a vast, well-maintained, secure, and amenity-rich environment that is accessible to all Washington residents. Any indirect "special offers" would likely be through community events organized by the Tehaleh community management or Bonney Lake city parks. These could include dog-focused social gatherings, responsible pet ownership clinics, or seasonal events that utilize the park's facilities. It's always advisable for dog owners to check the Tehaleh community website or the City of Bonney Lake's parks and recreation resources for announcements of such activities, which would further enhance the park's utility and foster community engagement. The ongoing benefit of a premier, free dog park is, in itself, the most compelling promotion for dog-owning locals.

If you want a short or longer walk here's the one you've been waiting for. Whenever a trail ends you find another to continue on. There's not much signage so be careful not to get lost. It's nice to smell the woody smell and hear the birds sing. If you have a friendly dog (with both people and animals )the free roam area is perfect for them.

Was recommended by a couple of people to check it out, as it wasn't too far from where I live. The drive wasn't long, parking was easy. Enough parking when I went mid day on a Saturday. There are stairs to the dog park along with a ramp for anyone who has a disability or strollers. Double gated and rules are posted as you go in. Right away you can go to an open spot that has dog agility equipment (to the right) or to the left you go down a little trail and there is just an open field like area. There, is a gravel tail that follows the fence line, for you and your dog to walk. Also, there are some off trails between the agility area and the open field area. The area is All one level, no worries for hills for any struggles with wheelchairs or strollers. All dogs and humans were really nice. This made working through some bigger dog issues for my smaller dog easy. All that I talked to were really supportive and helpful. Oh and in one post there was mention about no water dishes, when I went, I went prepared just in case, but here were two dishes full of water the whole time. Great visit overall!

This place is amazing and has a big play area for dogs as well as a trail inside and outside the park. There are always people here and they are very kind.

Great park with a large play area, mini trails for dogs to explore and an agility course. Clean. Fully fenced. Multiple trashcans in the park with good quality waste bags.
