It's open with agility courses. Have a shaded sitter area for the humans and some trees to provide shade for the animals. 2 sides, one large and one small both of the same size. Looks like there are trails behind the park. It's just the road up is all dirt and stones is the part I didn't particularly like.

In Moreno Valley, that ideal destination is undoubtedly Hound Town. This dedicated dog park offers a fantastic environment where canines can thrive, and their human counterparts can relax and connect with fellow pet enthusiasts. It’s more than just a place to run; it's a community hub designed with your dog’s happiness and safety in mind.
Hound Town has garnered a reputation among local residents for its excellent facilities and welcoming atmosphere. From its thoughtful design with separate areas for different dog sizes to its engaging agility courses, it’s clear this park was built for the joy of dogs. In a state as expansive as California, having such a well-regarded local amenity is a true asset for pet owners. This article will provide a comprehensive look at Hound Town, detailing its location, the services it provides, its unique features, and why it has become a cherished spot for Moreno Valley’s dog-loving community.
Hound Town is conveniently situated at 11150 Redlands Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92555, USA. It's important for visitors to note that while the park itself is a fantastic destination, accessing it involves navigating a road that has been described by some as being "all dirt and stones." This unpaved section leading up to the park is something to be aware of, particularly for those with lower-clearance vehicles, but it generally does not detract from the overall positive experience once you arrive.
The park is adjacent to the Moreno Valley Equestrian Center, making it part of a larger recreational area. This location offers a sense of open space and rural charm, providing a welcome break from urban congestion. Free parking is available nearby, accommodating up to 30 to 40 cars, which is a significant convenience for visitors. While the parking lot is also dirt, there is typically a paved handicapped spot. The park's accessibility means that residents from Moreno Valley and surrounding areas in Riverside County can easily reach this wonderful facility for their canine companions. The park's hours are generally 7 AM to dusk daily, offering ample opportunity for visits throughout the day.
- Designated Off-Leash Areas: Hound Town provides two distinct, fully fenced areas – one for large dogs and one for small dogs. This crucial separation ensures a safer and more comfortable play environment tailored to the needs and play styles of different canine sizes. Each side is approximately the same size, offering ample room.
- Agility Courses: Uniquely, Hound Town is equipped with agility courses within its fenced sections. These obstacles, including tubes, platforms, ramps, and fake fire hydrants, provide excellent opportunities for dogs to engage in stimulating physical activity and practice their coordination.
- Shaded Seating Areas: Recognizing the importance of comfort for both pets and their owners, the park features shaded seating areas. These include benches and some trees that offer natural shade, providing a cool retreat from the California sun for humans and animals alike.
- Water Fountains: Hydration is vital, especially during warmer California days. Hound Town is equipped with water fountains designed for both people and dogs, ensuring easy access to fresh drinking water for all park users.
- Dog Waste Bag Dispensers: To promote cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, dispensers for dog waste bags are available throughout the park, making it easy for owners to pick up after their pets.
- Double-Gated Entrance: For enhanced security and to prevent accidental escapes, the park features a double-gated entrance, providing an extra layer of safety as dogs and their owners enter and exit the play areas.
- Restrooms: A portable restroom is typically located at the entrance to the dog park, offering convenience for visitors.
- Adjacent Trails: While the dog park itself is fenced, there are unpaved trails behind the park that allow for additional exploration and leashed walks, extending the outdoor experience for visitors and their dogs.
- Engaging Agility Obstacles: A key highlight of Hound Town is its inclusion of agility equipment. This feature sets it apart from many standard dog parks, providing a stimulating and fun challenge for dogs of all energy levels. Owners appreciate the opportunity for their dogs to engage in more than just running.
- Dedicated Large and Small Dog Sections: The thoughtful design of having two separate, equally-sized areas for large and small dogs is a significant advantage. This minimizes potential conflicts and allows dogs to play with companions of similar size and temperament, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.
- Ample Space for Play: The park is described as "very big," allowing dogs plenty of room to run freely, chase balls, and interact without feeling overcrowded. This spaciousness contributes significantly to the quality of play and exercise dogs receive.
- Social Hub for Dog Owners: Beyond the canine interactions, Hound Town serves as a fantastic meeting point for local dog owners. As one reviewer noted, it’s a "nice place to meet other dog owners," fostering a sense of community among pet enthusiasts in Moreno Valley.
- Shaded Areas for Comfort: The presence of shaded seating and trees provides essential relief from the sun, making visits more comfortable for humans, especially during sunny California afternoons.
- Scenic Surroundings: Located near the Moreno Valley Equestrian Center, the park offers pleasant views and the feel of being surrounded by nature, enhancing the overall outdoor experience.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: While one user wished for updated dog fixtures, the park is generally well-regarded for its cleanliness, with doggie bags readily available and a maintained environment.
As a public city park, Hound Town does not typically run commercial promotions or special offers in the traditional retail sense. Its primary "offer" to the Moreno Valley community is free access to a well-maintained, enriching, and safe environment for dogs. The value derived from Hound Town comes from its consistent availability as a recreational space for pets and their owners. Any "special offers" would likely be informal, community-driven events, such as impromptu dog playdates organized by regulars or local pet groups. The park itself is a continuous benefit, providing a place for essential exercise and socialization without any cost of entry.

Apr 21, 2025 · Angela LeeI take my German Shepard here usually twice a week and she absolutely loves it. I wish they would update the dog fixtures, but aside from that, its a great dog park and a nice place to meet other dog owners.
May 29, 2025 · Amber MillsI like that there are water bowls for the dogs to stay hydrated, trees that provide shade, and a mixture of grass and dirt for the dogs to play! Sometimes, horses are seen walking around the fence, and all the dogs get so excited to see!
Jul 25, 2024 · Araceli FernandezNice park with obstacles, toys and water fountains. Obviously somewhat random but usually great dogs and people, very few fights, and lots of dogs in the mornings and afternoons. Also, 2 separate parks, one for large dogs, one for small dogs, but both sized dogs are welcome on either side as long as they are nice!
Mar 20, 2025 · Danyil GermanNice park, but make sure you don’t leave your dogs leash and go back to retrieve it. Guaranteed to grow feet and walk off. It’s a shame we are all dog lovers and there are cleptos’ out there. It was a yellow silicone leash I’d left and an hour later I went back. Gone.
