Hollydale Dog Park boasts several key features and highlights that make it a favored spot for dog owners in the region. These attributes contribute to its reputation as a well-rounded recreational space.
Features / Highlights:
- Fully Fenced Park: Provides a secure environment for off-leash play, giving owners peace of mind that their dogs are safely contained.
- Size and Space: While part of a larger park, the dog arena itself offers plenty of space for dogs to run, play, and interact, accommodating various levels of energy.

This makes it a great destination for the entire family.
- Obstacles for Engagement: The presence of obstacles offers a fun and stimulating way for dogs to exercise and challenge themselves, beyond just running.

As a public park operated by the county or city, Hollydale Dog Park primarily offers its amenities free of charge to the public. Therefore, traditional commercial "promotions" or "special offers" like discounts or loyalty programs are generally not applicable. However, there is an important consideration regarding scheduled activities that may affect general access:
Promotions or Special Offers:
- Reserved Hours for Dog Trainers: A significant detail mentioned by a reviewer is that on Saturdays and Sundays, a dog trainer reserves the park for two hours. This is an important "special offer" or rather, a scheduled block of time, that temporarily limits general public access. Visitors planning weekend trips should be aware of these potential reserved hours. While the specific times are not provided in the given information, it's advisable to verify with the park management or local community resources before a weekend visit to avoid disappointment. This reservation likely allows for structured training classes, which, while beneficial for those participating, do impact open play time for others.
For any inquiries about Hollydale Dog Park, including its operating hours, specific rules, or to confirm the schedule of trainer reservations, here is the contact information:

While a direct phone number for the dog park specifically isn't provided, the park is part of Hollydale Regional Park. The general contact for the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, which oversees regional parks, or the City of South Gate Parks and Recreation Department (as the dog park is sometimes referenced as being in South Gate within Hollydale Regional Park) would be the most appropriate points of contact. Some sources indicate a contact number of (323) 563-5479 or email HollydaleDogPark@gmail.com for more information regarding the dog park.
It is highly recommended to call ahead or check official websites for the most current information, especially concerning the weekend reservation schedule mentioned by a reviewer.
For locals in California, especially those residing in Paramount, South Gate, and the surrounding communities, Hollydale Dog Park is an exceptionally suitable and valuable resource. Its prime location within the larger Hollydale Regional Park offers more than just an off-leash area; it provides a comprehensive recreational experience for the entire family. The availability of parking and restrooms enhances convenience, making visits hassle-free. The park's commitment to safety, evidenced by its fully fenced enclosure and separate areas for large and small dogs, ensures that pets can play securely regardless of their size or temperament.
While the weekend reservation by a dog trainer might be a minor inconvenience for some, it also highlights the park's utility for structured activities and training, benefiting the broader dog community. The strong sense of community, where owners can meet like-minded individuals, fosters a welcoming atmosphere that extends beyond just canine interactions. Whether you’re looking for a dedicated space for your dog to burn energy, a place to socialize with other dog lovers, or a convenient spot to combine a dog outing with other family activities like picnics or playground visits, Hollydale Dog Park delivers. It stands as a testament to providing well-maintained, multi-functional green spaces that cater to the diverse needs of Californian communities and their beloved four-legged family members.

Feb 22, 2025 · juanchin gonHolllydale Park has plenty of space for multiple activities. I have seen the little ones practicing football and playing in the playground. You can celebrate your birthday here. Play hand ball, tennis, or just relax. Walking and jogging is popular. Walk your dog and let them loose inside the dog arena. Parking and restrooms are available. Consider having a picnic with your significant other here. Just remember to clean up after yourself.
Apr 16, 2025 · Roberto FloresReally nice park, first time there and it was clean and had doggie bags available (in case you forgot yours like I did). They have ramps for dogs to play on as well. Will definitely be going back!
Jun 03, 2021 · Marta AvelarNice space. A little bit of shade would be nice but you can always put your dog on a leash and walk around in the grassy areas around the park. I was here for two hours with my pup. The agility equipment is a nice touch! There is agility equipment on both the small and large dog sides.
Mar 26, 2019 · P. WiesnerSucks that the park closes at sun down during the winter time, but I love taking my dog here. Nice path to walk on. Cute little dog park too.
