Welcome to Glen Alla Dog Park
For dog owners and families in the vibrant Marina Del Rey area of California, finding a perfect spot that caters to both canine companions and human loved ones can be a delightful discovery. Glen Alla Dog Park stands out as a highly recommended destination, offering a harmonious blend of dedicated off-leash space for dogs and recreational amenities for the entire family. It's more than just a dog park; it's a community hub where tails wag, children play, and families can genuinely enjoy quality time outdoors together in the beautiful Southern California sunshine.
Praised by visitors as the "Best Park/Dog Park For You And Your Family," Glen Alla Dog Park embodies the ideal multi-purpose recreational facility. Its thoughtful design includes separate areas for dogs, ensuring they have ample space to socialize and exercise safely. Simultaneously, the proximity to other family-friendly amenities, such as playgrounds and sports courts, makes it an attractive option for households with diverse interests. This integrated approach ensures that every member of the family, including the four-legged ones, can have a fulfilling and enjoyable outing.
While the large dog area has a noted need for better lighting in the evenings, a common challenge for many public parks as dusk settles, the overall positive experience consistently shines through in reviews. The emphasis on "well behaved dogs" and the general atmosphere of respect among pet owners contribute to a comfortable and safe environment for all visitors. Glen Alla Dog Park truly represents a local treasure, providing a much-needed green space for recreation and community bonding in the heart of Marina Del Rey.
Glen Alla Dog Park is ideally located at 4711 Alla Rd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, USA. This prime address places it squarely within the popular coastal community of Marina Del Rey, making it highly accessible for residents of this area, as well as those in nearby Venice, Culver City, and other parts of West Los Angeles.
The park's location on Alla Road benefits from being situated in a well-developed urban and residential area, typically offering straightforward access via major thoroughfares. For those driving, there is generally parking available within or adjacent to the park, though, like any popular spot in a busy area, it can fill up during peak hours. Its placement within a larger recreational complex often means there are designated parking lots or ample street parking nearby to accommodate visitors.
Public transportation in Marina Del Rey, primarily through local bus routes, also provides options for reaching the park, although checking specific routes and schedules in advance is always recommended for non-drivers. The ease of getting to Glen Alla Dog Park, coupled with its desirable Marina Del Rey setting, contributes significantly to its status as a local favorite. Its integration into a broader park facility further enhances its accessibility, allowing families to combine a dog park visit with other recreational activities easily.
Glen Alla Dog Park provides a range of amenities and features designed to ensure a positive experience for both dogs and their human companions. While it operates as a public park, its offerings serve as valuable services to the community:
-
Dedicated Off-Leash Areas for Dogs: The core service is providing designated, fenced spaces where dogs can run and play freely without leashes.
-
Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: This thoughtful separation helps ensure safety and comfort for all canine visitors, allowing smaller dogs to play without being overwhelmed by larger, more boisterous companions.
-
Dog Waste Stations: Typically, public dog parks are equipped with dispensers for waste bags and designated bins for proper disposal, promoting cleanliness and responsible pet ownership.
-
Water Fountains: Essential for keeping active dogs hydrated, especially in California's warm climate.
-
Benches and Seating Areas: Allows owners to relax, supervise their dogs, and socialize with other pet parents.
-
Integration with Family Park Facilities: The park's most significant service extension is its proximity and shared space with broader family amenities.
Glen Alla Dog Park boasts several key features and highlights that make it a standout destination for families and dog owners in Marina Del Rey:
-
"Best Park/Dog Park For You And Your Family": This ringing endorsement from a user highlights its dual appeal, catering to both canine and human family members.
-
"Well Behaved Dogs": The park is noted for attracting well-behaved dogs, creating a more pleasant and less stressful environment for all users. This often reflects responsible dog ownership within the community.
-
"Playground For Your Kids And The Entire Family": This is a major differentiator, allowing parents to bring their children to play on the playground while their dogs enjoy the off-leash area, making it a true family outing destination.
-
Adjacent Tennis Courts and Other Sports Facilities: The presence of "tennis courts" and implied other sports facilities within the larger park complex means that individuals or families can engage in multiple recreational activities during their visit.
-
Separate Large Dog Area (with noted lighting issue): While the large dog area is appreciated for its space, the review points out a need for better lighting after 5 pm, indicating it can get "dark" and reduce visibility for evening play. This specific feedback provides a clear area for potential improvement for park management.
-
Overall Positive Atmosphere: Despite the lighting comment, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with dogs "liking it" and families enjoying their time.
As a public park managed by the city, Glen Alla Dog Park does not offer traditional commercial "promotions" or "special offers" from a business perspective. The primary "promotion" it provides is the consistent availability of a free, well-maintained, and versatile public space for community use. This includes dedicated areas for dogs and adjacent amenities for families.
Any "offers" are inherently part of its public service:
-
Free Access: The park is open to the public without an entrance fee, providing accessible recreation for all residents.
-
Community Resource: It serves as an ongoing "special offer" by providing a safe and inviting place for dogs to socialize and exercise, which contributes to their well-being and reduces behavioral issues stemming from lack of exercise.
-
Family-Friendly Environment: The combination of dog park and playground areas offers a unique "bundle" of recreational options for families at no cost.
For specific information regarding Glen Alla Dog Park, including operating hours, rules and regulations, or any scheduled maintenance, it is best to contact the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. As a public facility, it falls under their purview.

Its most significant advantage is its dual functionality as both a dedicated dog park and a family-friendly recreational area. This unique combination allows households with both canine and human children to enjoy an outing together, making it an incredibly efficient and enjoyable use of time for busy families. May 13, 2025 · Jesus MartinezVery nice, well kept park and dog park. You and your pup will enjoy it. Both large and small dog areas. Several water stations and about six benches with adequate shade on each side.
May 20, 2024 · Michael SundquistGreat park, not big or isolated but it’s got a field big enough for mollke! There was a guy flying a drone around for his dog to play with which seemed to disturb a lot of the other dogs there but overall it was fun.
Dec 22, 2024 · JW FrancisThis dog park is great. People are for the most part nice. It does suffer from the same thing most places in LA are right now: unfixed dogs. Even though it’s against the law and is clearly on the entrance to the park. Excited for whenever the next door park opens. Parking isn’t easy but I find a spot 99% of the time.
