Nice dog park. The benches are not super comfortable, so if your dog is good and you want to hang out, I’d recommend bringing a camp chair. There’s a small dog side and a large dog side.

Fenway's Dog Park is strategically located within the expansive Moss-Wright Park at 745 Caldwell Dr, Goodlettsville, TN 37072, USA. This placement within a larger municipal park offers visitors the advantage of various other amenities and a generally pleasant environment.

Accessibility to Fenway's Dog Park is quite straightforward. The park is most easily accessed by using the east entrance of Moss-Wright Park and immediately turning left. Signs within Moss-Wright Park typically guide visitors to the dog park area. Ample parking is available within Moss-Wright Park, ensuring that finding a spot for your vehicle is generally hassle-free. This convenience is a significant benefit for locals, allowing for quick and easy access to the off-leash area. Its location in Goodlettsville makes it a prime choice for residents of northern Davidson County and southern Sumner County, offering a convenient drive for many across the wider Nashville metropolitan area.

Fenway's Dog Park is thoughtfully designed to provide a comprehensive and comfortable experience for canine and human visitors:

  • Two Separate Fenced Areas: A key service offered is the provision of two distinct, securely fenced areas. One area is dedicated to large dogs, offering ample space for energetic play, while the other is specifically for small dogs, ensuring they can play safely without being overwhelmed. The city "encourages" owners to use the appropriate area for their dog's size.

  • Water Fountains for Dogs: Hydration is crucial for active pups. Fenway's Dog Park includes water fountains designed for dogs, allowing them to quench their thirst during playtime (though it's always wise to bring your own water as a backup, especially during winter months when fountains might be turned off). There are also dog bowls provided.

  • Agility Equipment: To add an extra element of fun and stimulation, the park is equipped with agility equipment. This allows dogs to engage in various activities like jumping, weaving, and climbing, promoting both physical and mental exercise.

  • Shaded Areas and Benches/Tables: The park features trees that provide natural shade, offering cool retreats from the sun. Scattered throughout the park are benches and tables, providing comfortable spots for owners to rest, observe their dogs, and socialize with other pet parents.

  • Waste Stations: To maintain the park's cleanliness, waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles are readily available. This encourages responsible pet ownership and helps keep the park tidy for all users.

  • Grassy Play Surface: The park primarily features a grassy field for dogs to run and play on, providing a natural and comfortable surface for their paws. While grass can be subject to wear and tear from heavy traffic, the natural surface is generally preferred for canine play.

Fenway's Dog Park boasts several key features and highlights that contribute to its standing as a valuable community asset:

  • Dedicated Small and Large Dog Areas: This clear separation is a major highlight, as it caters to the safety and comfort of all dogs. Owners of small or timid dogs particularly appreciate having a designated space where their pets can play freely without feeling intimidated by larger, more boisterous canines.

  • Integration within Moss-Wright Park: Being part of the larger Moss-Wright Park complex offers numerous benefits. Visitors can enjoy other park amenities before or after their dog park visit, such as walking trails, playgrounds, and athletic fields, making it a comprehensive outing for families.

  • Community-Minded Creation: The park's initial phase was conceived and funded by local residents Patricia and Bob Moore, named in honor of their beloved pet, Fenway. Its subsequent expansions by Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation due to popularity highlight a strong community demand and commitment to quality pet facilities.

  • Focus on Responsible Pet Ownership: The park's guidelines emphasize owner responsibility, including picking up waste and managing dog behavior, which contributes to a generally positive and well-managed environment. Aggressive dogs, females in heat, and puppies under four months are explicitly not permitted, aiming to maintain safety.

  • Ample Space for Play: The large dog area provides significant room for dogs to "run and play," ensuring that even energetic breeds have enough space to burn off steam and engage in vigorous exercise.

  • Comfortable Amenities for Owners: While benches might not be "super comfortable" for extended lounging, the presence of seating, tables, and shaded areas ensures that owners have places to rest and observe their dogs comfortably.

As a public facility managed by Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation, Fenway's Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions or special offers" like discounts or membership programs. Its primary "promotion" is the consistent provision of a free, well-maintained, and secure off-leash environment for all Goodlettsville and surrounding area residents and their canine companions. This free accessibility is a significant and ongoing benefit to the local community.

However, being located within the larger Moss-Wright Park, visitors to the dog park may benefit from other community events or activities that are occasionally hosted within the broader park complex. For example, Moss-Wright Park frequently hosts various community events, festivals, or sports activities throughout the year. Any such public events would be promoted through the City of Goodlettsville's official website, the Parks and Recreation department announcements, or local community calendars. These events could offer additional value or entertainment during your visit to the dog park. For instance, the "GoodDOG Doggy Egg Hunt" is an example of a pet-friendly event hosted at Fenway's Dog Park. The daily value of a free, well-equipped, and accessible dog park remains its most significant and continuous "special offer" for locals.

Its distinct separation into large and small dog areas is a significant advantage, promoting safety and comfort for all sizes and energy levels, a feature highly valued by responsible pet owners. The park’s location within the beautiful Moss-Wright Park means visitors benefit from not only a dedicated off-leash area but also access to other park amenities, making for a more comprehensive and enjoyable outing.

The presence of water fountains, shaded areas, benches, and even agility equipment enhances the overall experience, ensuring dogs are stimulated and owners are comfortable. While, like any public dog park, the dynamic can be influenced by individual dog owners and their pets, the park's official guidelines and local community's general respect for shared spaces often lead to positive interactions. Fenway's Dog Park offers ample space for exercise, opportunities for socialization, and a generally well-maintained environment, solidifying its status as a valuable resource for dog lovers across Tennessee.

I usually take my dog here often. We stopped by today and was greeted by several AGGRESSIVE dogs trying to attack my dog before we could fully get into the gate! The owners weren't helpful and honestly not responsible dog owners. I will not be returning.

I was visiting my daughter in Gallatin and staying at the Hyatt Place with my Husky Daisy. She loved the park. Lots of room to run.

Great dog park! We visit frequently and love it. Both large and small dog sides are a good size and are well kept.

We took our dogs yesterday and they had so much fun that we went again today! They made so many new friends, we'll be going back many times this spring!
