Not a bad little dog park. It’s somewhat hidden behind a bank and there's a small parking lot next to it. There’s plenty of room for dogs to run and roam around in the 2 fenced in areas and the tress offer some shade which helps on these blistering summer days. The water fountains are located outside of the fenced area so keep that in mind and there’s also a water faucet for rinsing your fur babies off but there's no hose for it. Park was clean and I didn’t see any pet waste laying around during our visit. We’ll certainly be going back.

It's a testament to the community's commitment to providing quality recreational spaces for all its residents, including its furry ones. Despite its unassuming entrance, it quickly reveals itself as a haven for dogs and a friendly gathering spot for their owners.
The FB MUD 35 Dog Park is a dedicated off-leash dog park situated in Katy, Texas, managed by Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 35. Located conveniently off South Fry Road, it serves as a popular destination for dog owners seeking a secure and spacious environment for their pets to play and socialize. While it might be described as "somewhat hidden behind a bank," its presence is a significant asset to the local community, providing a valuable outdoor space for canine recreation.
The park is designed with practicality in mind, offering distinct areas to accommodate dogs of various sizes and energy levels. It aims to foster a positive and safe atmosphere where dogs can expend energy, practice social skills, and enjoy the freedom of off-leash activity. For human companions, it offers a chance to connect with fellow dog lovers, share experiences, and relax while watching their pets engage in joyful play. The park's commitment to maintenance and providing essential amenities contributes to its reputation as a reliable and enjoyable spot for Katy's dog community.
The FB MUD 35 Dog Park is located at 8949 S Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77494, USA. This address places it strategically in the rapidly growing Katy area of Fort Bend County. It's specifically noted to be "behind a bank" and "behind Member's Choice Credit Union at the corner of S. Fry Road and Katy-Gaston Road," which helps in pinpointing its location within the commercial landscape.
Despite being somewhat tucked away, the park is easily accessible for residents of Katy and surrounding areas, including Cinco Ranch and other master-planned communities in the vicinity. There is a "small parking lot next to it" dedicated for park visitors, which adds to the convenience. Its location off a major thoroughfare like S Fry Road ensures that it's a quick drive for many, minimizing travel time and making it a practical choice for regular visits. As a facility managed by a Municipal Utility District, it benefits from local infrastructure and maintenance, ensuring that the access points and immediate surroundings are generally well-kept.
- Two Fenced-In Off-Leash Areas: The park provides separate, secure fenced zones. One area is specifically designated for small dogs, and the other for larger dogs, ensuring appropriate play interactions and safety for all sizes.
- Plenty of Room to Run: Both fenced areas offer ample space for dogs to run, roam, and engage in vigorous play.
- Water Fountains: There are water fountains available to keep dogs hydrated, a critical feature, especially during Texas's "blistering summer days." However, users should note that the water fountains are located outside the fenced areas.
- Doggie Stations: The park is equipped with "Doggie Stations," which typically include waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles to encourage and facilitate proper waste disposal.
- Doggie Wash Station: A convenient "Doggie Wash Station" is available upfront by the fenced-in area. While a faucet is present for rinsing, users may need to bring their own hose.
- Shade Trees: Trees within the park provide natural shade, offering respite from the sun for both dogs and their owners.
- Small Parking Lot: A dedicated, albeit small, parking lot is available adjacent to the park for visitors.
- Ample Running Space: A significant highlight of the FB MUD 35 Dog Park is the "plenty of room for dogs to run and roam around." With two distinct fenced areas for large and small dogs, each section offers substantial open space, allowing dogs to sprint, play fetch, and engage in high-energy activities comfortably.
- Natural Shade Provision: The presence of "tress offer some shade" is a highly valued feature, especially critical during the "blistering summer days" common in Texas. These natural shaded spots provide much-needed relief from the sun for both dogs and their owners, enhancing comfort during their visit.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Visitors consistently report that the "park was clean and I didn’t see any pet waste laying around during our visit." This indicates a strong commitment to regular maintenance and responsible usage by patrons, contributing to a pleasant and hygienic environment for everyone.
- Convenient Doggie Wash Station: The inclusion of a "water faucet for rinsing your fur babies off" at the Doggie Wash Station is a practical and appreciated amenity. While users might need to bring their own hose, the availability of a dedicated rinse-off area helps keep cars clean after a fun, potentially muddy, play session.
- Separate Fenced Areas for All Sizes: The thoughtful division into two distinct fenced areas – one for large dogs and one for small dogs – ensures safer and more appropriate play interactions. This separation helps prevent smaller or more timid dogs from being overwhelmed by larger, more energetic ones, catering to the needs of diverse canine populations.
- Community Vibe: Despite its "hidden" location, the park fosters a welcoming atmosphere. The positive experiences reported by visitors, including the intention to "certainly be going back," suggest a friendly community of dog owners frequents the park.
- Accessible Water Fountains: While located outside the fenced area (a point to be aware of), the availability of water fountains is crucial for keeping dogs hydrated, especially in the Texas climate.

The "promotion" is the ongoing commitment by MUD 35 to provide and upkeep a quality recreational amenity for its residents.

Despite its somewhat "hidden" location behind a bank on S Fry Road, its value for local residents is undeniable. The FB MUD 35 Dog Park is more than just a fenced-in plot; it's a well-utilized community asset that provides essential recreational opportunities, fosters canine socialization, and enhances the quality of life for dog-loving Texans in Katy.

Aug 24, 2021 · Kylie Monet (Kewlgirl05)Just found this dog park hidden behind the bank. Quite nice areas and good for my energetic dogs to run around. A quick warning though-there’s a loose/broken fence area near the shopping center side. My 70lb dog was able to go thru today and ran away. Fortunately nice lady and her daughters caught her near Gaston. I did send an email to MUD for them to fix it. Not sure when it will be done. So be aware, if your dog does not recall well, please be aware of this loose fence area.
Nov 27, 2024 · CCHLucasI love his place even though it’s a bit far…. It’s very relaxing specially if you don’t like people around and it’s perfect for my dogs since they don’t get along with other animals there aren’t many dogs or people here I love it most when it’s all alone and just letting my dogs free to run without any distractions disturbances or worries I wish I had one close to home in stafford/Sugarland area too many people at these places out here
Jul 03, 2024 · L. AgundizVery glad to see this small space being used for dog park. It’s got 2 sections for small and big dogs. It’s very clean and fenced and a little bigger than a typical backyard of a house. No ponds, no dog wash or rinse stations or doggy exercise areas. It’s got drinking water fountains. My 160lbs dogs were bored in 2 mins after reaching the park because there were no other dogs and it seemed like a backyard rather than a park to them :)
Dec 30, 2019 · Poornima BhogarajuThe dog park is pretty small, but that's not the point! The point is that when I brought my dog here for the first time, there were several family members of the dog inside who would not let my dog in. They seemed to have some kind of discrimination! (Big dog area) When I happily took my dog and wanted to go in, the two ladies asked me to stop, and asked me various questions about dogs, and finally said they would not let me in, I was really speechless! Caused my dog to finish the play with a dog walk outside the park! I have never been there since! Garbage place! Stupid woman!
