Welcome to Enumclaw Dog Park
For dog owners residing in or visiting Enumclaw, Washington, discovering the Enumclaw Dog Park is like finding a slice of canine paradise. This well-maintained and thoughtfully designed off-leash area provides a safe, clean, and engaging environment where dogs can truly be themselves – running, playing, and socializing without the constraints of a leash. It’s a highly recommended spot that caters to the needs of both dogs and their human companions, making it a beloved local amenity in the heart of the community.
The Enumclaw Dog Park is a fantastic two-acre off-leash facility located within the larger Ellenson Park, making it easily accessible and integrated into the city’s green spaces. What truly sets this dog park apart, and what many visitors appreciate immensely, is its intelligent design featuring two separate, fully fenced enclosures. One area is specifically dedicated to smaller dogs (typically under 25 lbs), while the other provides ample space for larger breeds. This separation is a game-changer for many owners, particularly those with smaller or more timid pups, as it eliminates concerns about their dogs being overwhelmed or accidentally injured by larger, more boisterous playmates. The park isn't just a vast empty field; it's equipped with various "playground-type toys" and agility elements, offering stimulating activities beyond just running. Visitors consistently describe it as spacious, clean, and lovely, highlighting its well-kept nature and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're introducing a young pup to the dog park experience or looking for a reliable spot for your seasoned companion, Enumclaw Dog Park provides a positive and enjoyable outing for all.
Enumclaw Dog Park is conveniently situated at 2550 Farman St N, Enumclaw, WA 98022, USA. Its location within Ellenson Park means it benefits from the established infrastructure of a public park. The dog park is easily reachable, just a couple of minutes from the Enumclaw RV Campground, making it a convenient stop for travelers passing through or those exploring the scenic Mount Rainier area. Visitors will find free parking nearby, ensuring a hassle-free arrival. The park features spring-loaded, double-gated entrances for enhanced security, allowing owners to safely enter and exit the off-leash areas without worrying about their dogs slipping out. While specific operating hours are tied to general city park hours, which are typically from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset, this provides ample daylight hours for play. Its central location in Enumclaw contributes to its accessibility, drawing visitors from across the city and surrounding communities in King County and beyond.
Enumclaw Dog Park provides a range of essential services and amenities designed to ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for both dogs and their owners. Based on public information and visitor reviews, these include:
- Separate Small and Large Dog Areas: This is a standout feature, offering a dedicated enclosure for dogs weighing 25 lbs and under, and another for larger dogs. This separation significantly enhances safety and comfort for all users.
- Fully Fenced Enclosures: Both play areas are completely fenced, providing a secure environment for off-leash play and peace of mind for owners.
- Agility/Playground Type Toys: The park is equipped with various "agility type dog toys" or "playground type toys," which offer additional stimulation and exercise opportunities for dogs.
- Poop Bags Provided: The park conveniently offers dog waste bags, encouraging responsible clean-up by owners.
- Waste Receptacles: Ample trash cans are available for easy and proper disposal of dog waste.
- Spring-Loaded, Double-Gated Entrances: These security features ensure that dogs cannot easily escape while owners are entering or exiting the park.
- Benches and Seating: Several benches and additional seating are available within the park, allowing owners to relax and supervise their dogs.
- Shaded Spots: The park offers shaded areas, providing relief from the sun on warmer days.
- Spacious Open Areas: Despite the separate enclosures, both areas provide ample open space for dogs to run, fetch, and play.
- Free Parking: Convenient and free parking is available near the park.
It's important to note that while some sources mention a water fountain, other more recent reviews suggest that amenities like a water fountain, swimming area, and hoses might not be consistently available. Therefore, bringing your own water for your dog is a wise recommendation.
Enumclaw Dog Park distinguishes itself with several key features that contribute to its high recommendations and popularity among local dog owners:
- Dedicated Small Dog Area: The specific, well-defined area for smaller dogs (under 25 lbs) is a major highlight, addressing a common concern for owners of petite breeds and ensuring a safer play environment.
- Agility Equipment: The presence of "playground type toys" or agility elements adds an extra layer of fun and challenge for dogs, promoting both physical and mental engagement.
- Excellent Cleanliness and Maintenance: Consistent visitor reviews praise the park for being "spacious, clean and just lovely," indicating a high standard of upkeep.
- Secure and Safe Design: The fully fenced, two-acre space combined with spring-loaded, double-gated entrances significantly enhances the safety for off-leash play.
- Thoughtful Amenities: The provision of poop bags and sufficient seating shows attention to detail and caters to the comfort and convenience of park users.
- Positive First-Time Experience: The park is noted as being an excellent place for a pup's first dog park experience, partly due to the separate areas and often less crowded weekdays, reducing potential anxiety for nervous dogs and owners.
As a public amenity operated by the City of Enumclaw Parks and Recreation Department, Enumclaw Dog Park does not typically run commercial promotions or offer discounts. Its value lies in providing a free and accessible off-leash dog park for the community. However, the park often serves as a venue for community-oriented events focused on pets. For instance, the City of Enumclaw or local animal welfare organizations might host vaccination clinics, adoption events, or responsible pet ownership workshops at or near the park. These events, while not "promotions" in a retail sense, offer valuable services and foster community engagement. Locals interested in such opportunities should regularly check the official City of Enumclaw website, particularly the Parks and Recreation section, or local community calendars and social media groups dedicated to Enumclaw pet owners for announcements about upcoming activities at the dog park.

This makes it an ideal spot for everyone, from owners of tiny terriers who might feel vulnerable in mixed-size parks, to those with energetic large breeds who need ample space to run freely. Mar 05, 2025 · Jazzy DazeThis was our first time taking our 6-month old pup to a dog park and we were very happy with it. We went on a weekday in the later morning and were pleased to find it empty, because frankly we were a little nervous about the possibility of her having a bad experience with other dogs at a place like this. One of the great things about this dog park is that there are two separate enclosures in it—one for small dogs (25 lbs), which eliminates the fear that small dog owners have about their little pups getting trampled or swallowed whole by other people’s huge dogs. All in all, our pup had a great time and we will definitely be bringing her back!
Feb 15, 2023 · Alex PinneyResponsible owners and great pups! A work in progress, with new things being added often. A few months back the city added a little agility course! Running water would be awesome, hopefully its coming soon.
Sep 05, 2019 · Kathryn SchneiderIt's a nice dog park that has a small dog and large dog section. I can't give it 5 stars because it only has a portable potty for the bathroom and it's a dry park meaning no water hose for dogs. But has a playground
Jun 27, 2023 · Stacey NoskyGreat park, new features added and in the works. Regulars welcomed us with wagging tails and their humans with warm conversation. This park is different from other parks I visited because people talk to one another & welcomed us. What makes us more likely to visit again is the welcoming community of dog owners.
