We’ve been to this dog park a few times and love it! It’s rarely busy and lots of room for the dogs to run. My only slight concern are the shorter fences, I just personally wish they were taller. We have a husky that could easily clear it if he wanted to. Other than that, it’s a great park and highly recommended. You can see in the photos the fence height compared to our dogs.

Welcome to Duffys Dog Park
For dog owners across Oklahoma City, finding the perfect spot for your furry companion to stretch their legs, socialize, and simply be a dog is a top priority. Look no further than Duffys Dog Park, a beloved local destination nestled in The Village. This park offers a fantastic solution for those seeking a dedicated, safe, and engaging environment where their canine friends can truly thrive off-leash. It's more than just a patch of grass; it’s a community hub where dogs can burn off energy, make new friends, and enjoy the freedom of open space, all while their human companions connect with fellow local pet enthusiasts. We understand the importance of having accessible, well-maintained areas for our four-legged family members, and Duffys Dog Park consistently delivers on that promise, making it a highly recommended spot for residents of The Village and the greater Oklahoma City area.
Location and Accessibility
Duffys Dog Park is conveniently located at 2208 W Hefner Rd, The Village, OK 73120, USA. Its position on West Hefner Road makes it easily accessible from various parts of Oklahoma City and surrounding communities. Whether you’re coming from north OKC, Bethany, or Edmond, reaching the park is straightforward, typically involving well-trafficked and easily navigable major roads.
One aspect to note, as mentioned by local users, is the parking situation. While there is a lot closest to the park, it reportedly lacks an direct entrance, meaning visitors might need to park at the ends or on the opposite side and walk around. This is a minor consideration for those planning their visit, but the walk around the perimeter offers an opportunity to extend your own exercise. Despite this, the accessibility to the park itself, being situated near well-known landmarks like gas stations and churches, ensures it’s not hard to find. The surrounding area is residential and well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant approach to the park.
Services Offered
- Off-Leash Dog Park: The primary service offered is a dedicated, fenced area where dogs can run and play freely without the constraint of a leash. This is invaluable for canine health and happiness.
- Separate Areas for Dogs: While not explicitly stated for small vs. large dogs in all sources, reviews indicate separate areas which is a common and highly appreciated feature in dog parks. This allows dogs of different sizes and temperaments to play safely. One review mentions the large dog side might be slightly longer in length, providing ample room.
- Water Stations: The park provides a place to fill water, ensuring dogs can stay hydrated during their active play sessions. While one review mentioned concerns about cleanliness, bringing your own water container is always an option to ensure your dog’s hydration needs are met to your satisfaction.
- Waste Bag Stations and Cans: For the convenience of owners and to maintain cleanliness, bags and waste cans are available around the park, encouraging responsible pet ownership and a pleasant environment for all users.
- Mowed Grass: The grass is regularly mowed low, providing a comfortable and tidy surface for dogs to run and play on.
Features / Highlights
- Spacious Running Room: A key highlight of Duffys Dog Park is the ample space it provides for dogs to run freely. User reviews consistently praise the "lots of room for the dogs to run," making it ideal for energetic breeds or those who simply love to sprint.
- Rarely Busy: For those who prefer a less crowded dog park experience, Duffys Dog Park is often described as "rarely busy." This means your dog can enjoy more personal space and less overwhelming social interactions, which can be particularly beneficial for shy or easily distracted pups.
- Used Toys Available: A nice touch, as noted by a local user, is the presence of "used toys here." While they are communal, it adds to the play options available without needing to bring your own.
- Shaded Seating Areas: The park offers areas with shade, allowing owners to comfortably relax and observe their dogs, providing a welcome respite during sunny Oklahoma days.
- Community-Focused Environment: Despite the park not always being busy, it fosters a friendly atmosphere where dog owners can connect. The collective good behavior of visitors in picking up after their dogs helps maintain this positive environment, as implied by the availability of bags and cans.
- Fencing for Off-Leash Play: The park is fully fenced, providing a secure environment for off-leash play. While one reviewer expressed a personal wish for taller fences due to a husky's potential to jump, the fencing generally provides a safe boundary for most dogs.
Promotions or Special Offers
Based on publicly available information and user reviews, Duffys Dog Park does not appear to advertise specific ongoing promotions or special offers at this time. As a publicly accessible dog park, its primary "offer" is the free and open access to a dedicated off-leash space for your dogs. Unlike private facilities or businesses with membership models, traditional promotions like discounts on services or loyalty programs are not typically associated with this type of amenity. However, local dog parks often benefit from community involvement, and sometimes local pet-related businesses or organizations might host events or offer temporary promotions in collaboration with the park. It's always a good idea to keep an eye on local community boards, The Village city announcements, or local pet groups on social media for any occasional special events or initiatives related to Duffys Dog Park. Since there is no direct contact number for the park itself, staying informed through community channels is the best approach.
Contact Information
Duffys Dog Park is a public amenity, and as such, it does not have a direct phone number for public inquiries or a dedicated website in the same way a private business would. Information regarding the park is typically managed through The Village city services or local parks and recreation departments.
Address: 2208 W Hefner Rd, The Village, OK 73120, USA
For any specific questions about park maintenance, rules, or general city park information related to Duffys Dog Park, it is recommended to contact The Village municipal offices or their parks and recreation department, whose contact details can typically be found on The Village's official city website.
Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Duffys Dog Park is an exceptionally suitable spot for Oklahoma City locals, particularly those residing in or near The Village, for several compelling reasons. First and foremost, it addresses a fundamental need for dog owners: a safe and expansive environment where their dogs can run, play, and socialize off-leash. In an urbanizing area like OKC, dedicated open spaces for canine exercise are invaluable, and Duffys Dog Park provides ample room for even the most energetic breeds to burn off steam. The fact that it's "rarely busy" is a significant advantage for many, offering a more relaxed and less chaotic experience compared to some busier dog parks. This allows for more focused play and calmer interactions between dogs and their owners.
The practical amenities, such as the provision of water and waste bags, demonstrate a thoughtful approach to maintaining a clean and functional space. While the fence height was a minor concern for one reviewer, the overall security of a fenced area provides peace of mind for owners. The separate sections for different sized dogs, although indirectly noted in reviews, are a crucial feature for ensuring safety and appropriate play dynamics. Furthermore, the presence of shaded areas for owners adds to the comfort, making visits enjoyable even during Oklahoma’s sunny periods.
Beyond the physical attributes, Duffys Dog Park cultivates a sense of community. It's a place where local dog lovers can connect, share tips, and watch their pets flourish. This communal aspect is vital for fostering strong neighborhood ties and providing a support network for pet owners. While it doesn't offer additional services like grooming or training, its focus on being a pure, unadulterated dog park means it excels at its core purpose. For locals seeking a reliable, spacious, and often tranquil outdoor space for their cherished canine companions, Duffys Dog Park truly is a highly recommended and essential part of The Village's local charm.

Apr 10, 2024 · Nathan BrownPretty decent little place. Hard to say but I believe the large dog side is just slightly longer in length. Toys here are used, grass mowed low, place to fill water( just not to clean or trust, might bring something). No real parking with the lot it's closest to has no entrance and you must walk around to the ends or opposite side. Bags and cans around, great place for a walk when not wanting to be at the park. No restrooms, no park for kids to play. Teo churches are in eye site and Gass stations aren't far.
Jun 07, 2024 · Wesley BatsonA nice little park. Follow the rules(rules are posted on fence) and keep it clean. No restroom but there is a water spout with a hose to fill a trough with water.
