Probably the most unsafe dog park I’ve ever had the misfortune of going to. There were thorns everywhere. I had to pull them out of my dogs paws. Why on earth the city thought it was a good idea to have this kind of plant life near a dog park is beyond me. Don’t take your pets here unless you want them to have a horrible time

  • Socialization Opportunities for Dogs: By bringing multiple dogs and their owners together, the park naturally facilitates canine socialization. This interaction is crucial for dogs to develop appropriate social behaviors and reduce anxiety.
  • Exercise Space: The park offers a dedicated environment for dogs to burn off energy. Whether through fetch, chasing, or simply exploring, it provides an outlet for physical activity that might be limited in smaller urban living spaces.
  • Community Gathering Point for Owners: Beyond just the dogs, the park serves as a place for human companions to connect, share experiences, and build a sense of community around their shared love for animals. This informal networking can be a valuable aspect of visiting local dog parks.

  • Fenced Enclosure: A standard and essential feature of most dog parks, the presence of a fence provides a secure boundary, preventing dogs from wandering off and ensuring their safety within the designated play area. This allows owners to feel more at ease while their dogs explore.

  • Presence of Thorns/Goatheads: User feedback consistently mentions the presence of "thorns" or "goatheads" within the park's vegetation or ground. This is a critical point for potential visitors, as these can cause discomfort or injury to dogs' paws. Goatheads! My dog loves to run but only did 1 run before limping. Pulled at least 5 stickers out of his paw. Terrible upkeep

This is the only dog park in the area, and they're planning to build a 5-story apartment building and parking garage here unless we protest the loss of this last bit of green space. Please write Darrell Watson: district9 AT denvergov.org

We go to this dog park occasionally. It works since it’s a large enclosed area but the stickers are a huge downside and sometimes it’s pretty overgrown. Water is hit or miss so we bring our own.

Would be great if there was more grass or less mud, but our puppy loves running around with the other dogs. I suppose that’s all that matters! Def recommend!
