Love this dog park, it is our second year signing up for it. It is private and expensive for nonresidents, but in my opinion (after looking at surrounding dog parks), worth it. We came from an area where dog parks are free, but have gotten used to the idea of paying. In return, we have gotten thoughtful and pleasant owners and well cared for dogs as companions for our pups. maintained. Our favorite area is the walking paths. My younger dog loves investigating in the grasses while my older dog appreciates the trails. I particularly like the fact that it seems to be populated with some very high quality native plants. If I could have one wish, it would be some kind of water feature for the hot sunny days. Our previous park had a splash pad area with fountains, which many of the dogs adored.

As a facility managed by the Cary Park District, the Dog Park at Hoffman Park offers a structured and comprehensive set of services designed to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all members.
Annual Membership Required: Access to the Dog Park is exclusively for annual pass holders. Passes can be purchased at the Cary Park District Community Center, located at 255 Briargate Road. No daily passes are offered, emphasizing the park's commitment to a consistent and accountable user base.
Strict Health and Vaccination Requirements: A cornerstone of the park's safety, all dogs entering the park must have up-to-date vaccination records. This includes rabies, distemper, para influenza, parvovirus, bordetella, and leptospirosis. A current negative fecal test is also required. This rigorous vetting process, mandated by regulations like those from the Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control (which can influence regional standards), provides comfort to owners that their dogs are socializing with healthy, well-cared-for companions.
Electronic Key Entry: The park utilizes an electronic key or key fob system for gate access, providing enhanced security and ensuring that only valid pass holders can enter. This helps maintain the integrity of the membership system and the safety of the park.
Waste Disposal: Essential for maintaining cleanliness, the park provides waste disposal bags and garbage/recycling cans, encouraging all owners to promptly clean up after their dogs. This commitment to hygiene is frequently appreciated by users.
Water Fountain: A vital amenity, a water fountain is available on-site, providing fresh drinking water for both dogs and their human companions, especially important during warmer weather.
The Dog Park at Hoffman Park distinguishes itself with several key features that enhance the off-leash experience, catering to various dog personalities and owner preferences.
Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: The park is thoughtfully designed with distinct, fenced sections for big and smaller dogs. This separation is crucial for safety and comfort, allowing dogs to play with others of similar size and energy levels without intimidation or accidental injury.
Diverse Walking Paths and Trails: A highlight for many visitors are the varied walking paths. The park includes a mowed grassy open play area, a field meadow, and a tall grass area with walking trails. One reviewer particularly appreciated the "walking paths," noting their younger dog enjoys "investigating in the grasses" while their older dog "appreciates the trails." This variety provides both opportunities for high-energy play and more leisurely, exploratory walks.
Native Plant Landscaping: The park incorporates "very high quality native plants," contributing to a pleasant aesthetic and providing interesting scents and textures for dogs to explore. This natural landscaping enhances the overall atmosphere and makes the park a more enjoyable place to spend time.
Off-Leash Area: As an 18-acre fenced-in dog park, it offers ample space for dogs to roam freely and safely without the constraint of a leash, which is paramount for their physical and mental well-being.
Well Maintained Grounds: Consistent feedback indicates the park is "well maintained," speaking to the dedication of the Cary Park District in keeping the facilities clean and tidy for its users.
Shaded Seating Area: For the comfort of human visitors, the park provides a shaded seating area, offering a spot to relax and observe their dogs at play.
Double-Gated Entrance: For added security and to prevent dogs from accidentally exiting, the park features a double-gated entry system.
As a public facility managed by the Cary Park District, the Dog Park at Hoffman Park's "promotions" are primarily structured around its annual membership fees, which are designed to offer value while sustaining the park's high standards. There are no traditional, short-term commercial discounts.
Resident vs. Non-Resident Rates: The most significant "special offer" is the tiered pricing structure that heavily favors Cary residents. For example, a resident's annual pass for one dog is $55.00, while a non-resident pays $110.00. This provides substantial savings for local taxpayers and reflects their contribution to the park district.
Multi-Dog Discount: For households with multiple dogs, the additional dog fees are considerably lower than the first dog fee. A resident pays an extra $10.00 for an additional dog, and a non-resident pays an extra $20.00. This makes it more economical for families with more than one canine companion.
Senior Resident/Non-Resident Rates: The Cary Park District also offers reduced rates for senior residents ($46.00 for one dog, $10.00 for additional dogs) and senior non-residents ($92.00 for one dog, $20.00 for additional dogs), further enhancing accessibility for all community members.
These structured fees ensure consistent, high-quality access to the park year-round, representing the park's ongoing value proposition rather than temporary "deals."

Jul 07, 2023 · MBuk71Large dog park with sections for big and smaller dogs. Water fountain, poop bags ,water fountain and well maintained. You do have to pay yearly for the entrance, but it's worth it. Every dog has to have all its records as well so it's always a small comfort
Aug 08, 2023 · Ian De La RosaAwesome dog park! Yearly fee is totally worth it, and if you have a second dog it's a bargan! Very friendly people and dogs, all up to date on everything (benefit of a paid dog park) and the 18 acres of fenced in land is excellently well kept with walking trails and large open field and shaded picnic tables. Great dog water station and poop bags are all included. Can't say enough about this place!
Jul 24, 2017 · Stephen SawyerYou do need a card to get in the fenced dog park but we had a delightful time walking our dogs at the park.
May 06, 2024 · Rebecca Knox Captain Save A Home (Captain Save A Home)Gorgeous, giant play area with connected, just as large off-leash walking path, large training pens, agility training utilities, plenty of benches for dog owners and trees for shade. An A+++ area for dog socialization and play.
