Nice park tucked away at the bottom of the hill from the parking lot. Mostly mulched ground with lots of tree cover. Friendly people! Trash and bags, but no water, though. My dog had fun playing queen of the mountain. Portapotties available at the upper parking lot. Trails , playground and playing fields around the dog park.

Regarding accessibility, the Dacey Community Field complex is known for its amenities, including ADA compliant playground equipment. While the dog park itself is described as "mostly mulched ground with lots of tree cover" and situated at the bottom of a hill from the parking lot, it is generally considered accessible to the public. The Dog Park at Dacey Community Field provides essential services designed to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all its visitors, both human and canine:
- Designated Off-Leash Play Area: The primary service is a securely fenced-in area where dogs can run freely, play fetch, and interact socially without the constraint of a leash. This promotes vital physical exercise and mental stimulation.
- Separate Play Areas: While not explicitly stated in all reviews as "small" and "large" dog sections, common practice for well-designed dog parks, and implied by some sources, is that it features separate areas for big and small dogs to ensure comfortable and safe play for all sizes.
- Waste Disposal Stations: The park provides "trash and bags," encouraging responsible pet ownership and contributing to the park's overall cleanliness. This thoughtful amenity makes it convenient for owners to clean up after their pets.
- Obstacles/Play Elements: Reviews mention "rocks for canine climbers" and dogs having fun "playing queen of the mountain," indicating some natural or built elements for dogs to interact with, adding variety to their play.
The Dog Park at Dacey Community Field, while perhaps "tucked away," boasts several commendable features that contribute to its positive reputation among local dog owners:
- Well-Kept and Clean: A consistent highlight from users is that the park is "very well kept" and generally clean. This speaks volumes about the efforts of park management and, crucially, the responsible behavior of the dog-owning community that utilizes the space. A clean park is a welcoming park.
- Shade and Tree Cover: A significant advantage, especially during warmer Massachusetts months, is the "lots of tree cover." This provides much-needed shade for dogs and their owners, allowing for more comfortable and extended visits.
- Friendly and Social Community: Reviews frequently praise the "friendly people" and mention that "the other dog parents are a delight to see and be with. The dogs are all well socialized." This fosters a welcoming and positive atmosphere, making it a great place for both canine and human socialization.
- Mulched Ground: The park's "mostly mulched ground" surface is often preferred by owners as it can be softer on paws than asphalt or rough gravel, and helps to keep dogs cleaner than dirt or mud.
- Integrated within a Community Field: Being part of the larger Dacey Community Field complex offers additional amenities like nearby trails, playgrounds, and playing fields, making it a versatile destination for families with both human and canine members.
- A Passion Project: Public information indicates that this "beautiful dog park was started by a Franklin Middle School student as a community service project," which adds a heartwarming local touch to its origin story.
As a public amenity managed by the Town of Franklin's Recreation Department, the Dog Park at Dacey Community Field does not typically offer commercial promotions or special discounts. Its primary "offer" is free public access to a well-maintained, safe, and community-supported off-leash dog area for all responsible residents of Massachusetts.
While there are no traditional retail promotions, any "special offers" would likely come in the form of community engagement events. The "Furry Friends of the Franklin Dog Park Volunteer Committee" is noted for organizing activities such as dedication ceremonies (like the one honoring Andrew Bissanti and his family) and seasonal events like "Howl-o-ween dog costume contests." These types of events, often announced through local Franklin news outlets or community social media, provide opportunities for locals to gather, celebrate their pets, and contribute to the park's vibrant community spirit. These initiatives aim to foster community involvement and enhance the park for everyone, rather than offering commercial benefits.

Aug 28, 2024 路 Kindred WindI have brought my dear Pitty mix to this park from the day I rescued him two years ago. The park is very well kept. The other dog parents are a delight to see and be with. The dogs are all well socialized. Best part of my day and Tim鈥檚. 馃┓馃惗
Apr 21, 2025 路 Paula HerendeenLove this dog park. It's clean. People do pick up after their dogs. Plenty of parking. There is plenty of room for your dog to full out run. Of course, the dogs are the best part.
Nov 01, 2024 路 Amy RiceGreat little dog park, where I have found mostly good owners and great friendly doggies. Plenty of seating, but you must bring your own water for the pups.
Aug 26, 2018 路 Alex ChathaI鈥檓 my experience, this is a pretty friendly, clean and comfortable park to bring your pups to. The owners are very good at handling their dogs 8/10 times. But I鈥檓 some cases of course, you may run into an issue here or there. There seems to be solid regulars who go, so if you鈥檙e looking for a dog community, this is a great place to start! Many benches and tables to sit and chat and even a small agility ramp if you want to teach your dog some tricks. Trashes and poop bags provided, as well as many drinking bowls and tennis balls, but feel free to bring your own.
