  • Water Fountains for People and Dogs: The park features water fountains designed for both human and canine use, ensuring hydration during playtime. While some historical issues with the large dog park fountains have been noted, the small dog park typically has working fountains, and there's a hose available for rinsing.

  • Outdoor Dog Shower Area: Located near the restrooms, a small outdoor shower area is available for rinsing off muddy paws or giving your dog a quick cool-down after an energetic play session.

I'll get the nitpicking out of the way first since there's not much worth complaining about. There's been an underground water leak from day one in the large dog part that creates a muddy area about 30 feet wide and probably related to the water fountains not usually working. No problem, the small dog part has working fountains, so just bring a bowl, and there is a hose to shower off dog feet. They have an excellent human bathroom. For those keeping score, the best, consistently clean public bathrooms are 1. Buckies 2. Copeland Dog Park 3. The Omni. They have evening spotlights. The fences are secure, so you won't have to worry about your dog finding a half dug escape route hole that they can finish the job and go exploring the forest. Although there is a gate at the far right end of the large dog park that mowers use to get in and they left it open once, and mine and another dog discovered this. It only happened once, but I always check when I first get there. Shaded seating for about 6 people, unshaded for another couple dozen. Ample parking, gravel, no potholes. There are several different kinds of obstacles, tunnels, ramps, stones, trees, and one fire hydrant. My dog uses none of these and just instead runs 45mph in a wide circle. Whatever make them happy. The small dog park is similar but has no water leak and less acreage. I've been to White Rock Dog Park, North Dallas on Hillcrest, one by the Allen mall and a couple of others I can't recall. In August I drove by the other mesquite dog park west of 635, saw that there was no shade to defend against 107F, not many trees in or outside the park to help block the wind in January, I never got out of the car. Didn't see if they had bathrooms, but even if they did, I doubt they would have been CQ - Copeland Quality.

Not the average fenced dog run- very large. Benches, shade, and watering stations on both small and large dog sides (although large dog watering station wasn’t operational the day I went, there were large bowls to bring water from the small side). There were some bald spots in the grass that the rain turned into a large mud slog, but the dog wash station next to the restrooms easily handled muddy paws, 2 spigots- one of which worked. 5 stars for have a large public space where my dog got to play with other dogs. Where I live, this is the a high quality and closest option, and with the facilities available, she had a great time without muddying the car. We’ll definitely be back.

This is an awesome dog park, in fact it is the best, biggest and nicest one we have ever gone to. It is really big, there are agility features and there are lots of places to sit in sun or shade. All of the dogs, big and small, were having a grand time playing. Kudos and thank you to the City of Mesquite for designing and maintaining such a wonderful park for us to enjoy with our dogs. There are even clean bathrooms for humans and a dog washing station if your four legged kid gets muddy. You can’t ask for anything more! We will he back!

The first dog park my dogs actually loves. They ran over the whole place playing. They also have restrooms. Edit: I had to bring it down a star when it's not necessarily the park. It's the pet owners. Please be courteous and clean up after your dog. I've been here 3 times, and it's so much poop on the ground. My BF and I have been picking it up as much poop as we can see, because we care about the health of our dogs and others when we shouldn't even have to do that to begin with. They provide poopy bags, so it's no reason for you not to clean after your pet.
