Can't speak for everyone but for me it was a pleasant experience. The dogs all had a good time and finally got some of that pent up energy out. The park had plenty of tennis balls and even a stick bin if you wanted to just toss one of those. It had a wash area and a good amount of dog bowls for the pooch to get some water. All in all. Solid for a dog park.

Welcome to Carla Gnann-Thompson Memorial Dog Park

Hello, Florida dog lovers! For those of us in Lake County, finding a fantastic spot where our canine companions can truly be themselves – running, playing, and socializing freely – is a top priority. In Eustis, we are incredibly fortunate to have Carla Gnann-Thompson Memorial Dog Park, affectionately known as the "GT Dog Park." This isn't just any fenced-in area; it's a vibrant community hub designed specifically for our furry friends, offering a safe and engaging environment for off-leash fun. For locals, this park represents a valuable amenity that significantly enhances the quality of life for both pets and their owners.

The essence of a great dog park lies in its ability to cater to a dog's natural instincts while providing a comfortable and secure setting for their human companions. Carla Gnann-Thompson Memorial Dog Park excels in this regard, as highlighted by glowing reviews. One visitor enthusiastically shared, "The dogs all had a good time and finally got some of that pent up energy out. The park had plenty of tennis balls and even a stick bin if you wanted to just toss one of those." This speaks volumes about the park's thoughtful provisions, ensuring that pups have ample opportunities for play and exercise, which is crucial for their physical and mental well-being. For us Floridians, knowing our dogs can expend their energy in a dedicated space means happier, healthier pets at home.

Beyond the simple joy of off-leash play, a well-equipped dog park fosters a sense of community among pet owners. It's a place where "your pawfriends can run and run while you sit under the shadow," creating a relaxing experience for humans while their dogs make new friends. The separation into "two parks for your dogs, smalls and big," addresses a key safety concern, allowing dogs to interact with others of similar size and temperament, which greatly reduces stress and promotes positive social interactions. This thoughtful design, combined with amenities like a "wash area for them" and "doggy pools," elevates Carla Gnann-Thompson Memorial Dog Park from a mere patch of grass to a truly comprehensive recreational facility for dogs and their families.

The overall sentiment from locals is overwhelmingly positive, often describing it as "Solid for a dog park" and praising its offerings. From the generous "big parking space" to the thoughtful provision of communal toys, it's clear that this park is designed with the user experience in mind, both for two-legged and four-legged visitors. The fact that dogs "had a good time" and owners found it a "pleasant experience" underscores its success as a valued community asset in Eustis. For any Florida resident seeking a reliable, well-equipped, and friendly dog park, Carla Gnann-Thompson Memorial Dog Park is undoubtedly a top contender that delivers on its promise of fun and functionality for all.

Nice Two parks for your dogs, smalls and big. Love there is a Wash area for them. And doggy pools. Your pawfriends can run and run while you sit under the shadow. Big parking space.

There are two sides one for small dogs one for bigger dogs and they have a dog bathing area in between those two. There are benches and covered metal sitting areas as well as fire hydrants that spray water which is a lot of fun to watch the dogs play in! For new dog owners or owners that don't have a clue, please make sure you are in control of your dog at all times... especially if you have an aggressive dog breed! If your dog gets rough with another dog you either need to leash it or leave the area.

My dog loves this park! Her friends meet her here and they all have a great time 😁. It's clean and well kept, and I'm not afraid to have my tiny pup off her leash here.
