Normally great place to walk around with your kids and dogs . The day we went was very muddy unfortunately there was still alot of snow remains but still enjoyed our time there. They fortunately put a boundary gate where lake was because back in August when the storm came and destroyed the lake it was dangerous to walk on with sinking mud. So do not recommend to try to go around boundaries around former lake area.

Blydenburgh Dog Park Area offers a comprehensive range of services and amenities designed to create an optimal off-leash experience for dogs and their owners:
- Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: The 1.8-acre dog park is thoughtfully divided into two distinct, fully fenced sections: one for large dogs and another for smaller breeds. This separation ensures safer play and a more comfortable environment for all canine visitors.
- Combination of Open Fields and Wooded Areas: Uniquely, both the large and small dog areas feature a mix of open fields for running and fenced-in wooded sections. This allows for diverse exploration and engagement, offering both wide-open spaces for fetch and natural terrain for sniffing and discovery.
- Water Fountains in Each Area: Each of the separate dog park sections is equipped with its own water fountain, providing a convenient and accessible source of hydration for thirsty pups after vigorous play.
- Ample Seating and Shade: The park offers plenty of benches for human visitors to relax and observe their dogs. Many of these seating areas, particularly within the wooded sections, also provide ample shade, offering a cool respite on sunny New York days.
- Waste Bag Dispensers and Trash Cans: To promote cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, the park provides waste bag dispensers and numerous garbage cans throughout the area, making cleanup easy and convenient.
- Double-Gated Entries: For enhanced safety and to prevent accidental escapes, both the large and small dog areas feature secure double-gated entry systems.
- Dog-Friendly Trails (Leashed): Beyond the off-leash dog park, Blydenburgh County Park offers miles of scenic trails around Stump Pond where leashed dogs are welcome, providing additional opportunities for extended walks and exploration in nature.
- Swimming Area (Seasonal/Specific): Public information suggests the park may offer a shallow pond or swimming area where pups can cool off, particularly on hot days, adding another dimension to the fun.
Blydenburgh Dog Park Area stands out as a premier dog park in New York due to its distinctive features and commitment to a high-quality experience:

- Thoughtful Amenities for Humans: The provision of ample seating, shade, and readily available water fountains (one in each section) shows consideration for the comfort and convenience of dog owners.
- Part of a Larger County Park: Being integrated within the vast Blydenburgh County Park offers additional recreational opportunities. Visitors can combine a dog park visit with a hike on the surrounding trails, or even enjoy canoeing/kayaking on Stump Pond (available for rent, cash only with ID).

- Accessibility: The park has made efforts towards accessibility, with features like wide wood-chip covered paths and accessible parking, making it more inclusive for owners with mobility needs.
As a public facility managed by Suffolk County Parks, Blydenburgh Dog Park Area does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Its primary "promotion" is the valuable public service it provides to the community.
The most significant "offers" for local New York residents include:

Mar 23, 2025 路 Dawn MaioranoGreat views, easy hike馃尣 all trails says it about 2 hours but took us 3 to finish. There are canoes/ kayaks there that are available to rent for 10$ (cash only) and bring your id! Huge lake which we let our pup play in. There is also an amazing dog park here, where half of it is forest that is fenced in. I love that because it makes a perfect place for off leash training and a huge playground for the doggos!
Jun 01, 2024 路 Sara TateLive this park. I've been going here all my life. So sad about Stump pond emptying out. Still the hiking trails are awesome.
Nov 12, 2024 路 Patricia FamighettiProbably my favorite dog park on the island.. Decent sized space with open area but also woods in the park with a trail that wraps around. For the most part people are super friendly, everyonce in a while the vibe is off thou. There are community water bowls and a water spout/spicket to fill them. Two areas- one for 25 lb plus and one for under 25lb.. Its cool too be able to go for a hike after playing with friends or going down to the lake/pond to cool down on a hot day after running around
Jun 30, 2023 路 Kimberly JoyUsed to pass this place all the time everyday on my way to my old job. It鈥檚 huge and beautiful! My dog had so much fun
