Arcade Creek Park is a hidden gem nestled in a very pleasant residential area off of Hackberry between Winding Way and Madison. I stumbled upon this wonderful spot while riding around Carmichael on my bicycle. I've lived within a couple miles of the park for over a decade, but I didn't know it existed until recently. Surprisingly uncrowded, the grounds are quiet and clean. It's equipped with courts for both basketball and tennis. However, the best feature of this lovely place is the dog park. There are two fenced-off areas, one for small dogs and another for larger breeds to run and play in. I've been back many times with my beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier "Savvy" who gives the park two enthusiastic paws up.

As a public park managed by the Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District, Arcade Creek Park generally operates as a free and accessible community resource, rather than offering commercial promotions or special offers in the traditional retail sense. Its primary "promotion" is its consistent availability and high quality as a public amenity.
However, the Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District (ACRPD) does occasionally host community events or initiatives that may benefit park users, including dog owners. For example, the ACRPD website indicates a calendar of events and district policies, suggesting that community gatherings or improvement projects (like "OSU Days of Service: Arcade Creek Park Improvements" which sometimes involve volunteer efforts) may occur. These types of events, while not direct "promotions," contribute to the park's upkeep and community spirit.
Local dog groups or neighborhood associations might also organize informal meet-ups or social events at the park. To stay informed about any such community-driven activities or park-related news that could be considered beneficial "offers" for local dog owners, it's advisable to:
- Check the official website of the Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District.
- Look for local community event listings or neighborhood social media groups.
- Observe any notices or flyers that may be posted within the park itself.
The consistent "offer" of Arcade Creek Park remains its peaceful, well-maintained environment for off-leash dog play, freely available to all local residents.

Apr 20, 2025 · Elizabeth UsiltonI walked to Arcade Creek Park, a neighborhood park, while visiting family in Sacramento for Easter, for the first time. It was quite a pleasant experience. The park has the typical amenities such as swings, slides, sandboxes to entertain children. There were several areas with picnic tables. There is a creek running along the west side. There is an abundance of small animals and birds inhabiting the park and creek. I saw squirrels, wild turkeys that can fly, and numerous other birds. The park has a cemented walking path around the perimeter of the park. The park also has a fenced area where your dogs can be taken off their leash.
Apr 22, 2022 · Will ChandlerI like this park along because it is away from major foot traffic and heavily populated areas. The dog area is beautiful. I take my dogs to this park to play all time time. Side note: There are occasionally transients there and I saw needles in a trash can.
Oct 21, 2020 · Kevin SingletonSmall no leash dog park one for the little dogs one for the big dogs. But they are each very small. There's a nice brand new looking , brick ship house, and an older one. And wouldn't you know it? Neither one of them work! Yeah it's been without a bathroom on any kind including a porta potty for over 3 years! yeah the lady who runs that place, must, pocket all the money she saves, from, not having a porta potty there for 3 years! I didn't see any smell any or step in any, but that doesn't mean it's not there! (Ped-er b ware) It's a really cute Park with water ducks with water ducks squirrels turkeys, and obvious members of your LBGTQ community.(NO HUNTING!) ANY TIME! PARK OPENS AT SUNRISE AND CLOSES AT SUNSET AND IT'S CLOSED ON ALL MAJOR HOLIDAYS
Feb 20, 2025 · John ASeems like a good park, I just wish there was more seating. The park benches are spread very far out. But the kids have fun, the little library is a cute idea, and the squirrels are even friendly!
