Services Offered

  • Indoor Off-Leash Dog Park: At its core, Ales and Tails offers a spacious indoor area, reportedly around 5,500 square feet, where dogs can run, play, and socialize off-leash in a climate-controlled environment. This is particularly beneficial during inclement weather in Washington.

  • Supervised Play: A significant benefit, as noted by customer reviews, is that "the dogs play is always well regulated by staff." This ensures a safer and more harmonious play environment for all canine visitors.

  • Taproom with Craft Beverages: For human companions, Ales and Tails features a dedicated taproom. This taproom offers a rotating selection of 16 craft beers, including favorites from Good Brewing Company (the parent company) and other local Washington breweries. They also offer a selection of local ciders, seltzers, wines, and non-alcoholic options, catering to diverse preferences.

  • Doggy Daycare: For owners needing a supervised environment for their dogs during the day, Ales and Tails offers doggy daycare services. Features / Highlights

Ales and Tails distinguishes itself with several key features that make it a unique and highly appealing destination for dog owners in Washington:

  • Indoor Climate-Controlled Environment: This is a paramount feature, especially in a region like Washington where weather can be unpredictable. The indoor setting ensures that dogs can exercise and socialize comfortably regardless of rain, heat, or cold. This is a significant advantage over traditional outdoor dog parks.

  • Integrated Dog Park and Taproom Concept: The core appeal lies in the seamless combination of an off-leash dog play area and a separate, dog-friendly taproom. This allows owners to relax and enjoy a beverage while their dogs are actively engaged and supervised. As one reviewer aptly put it, "Dogs love running around and owners love having a beer."

  • Well-Regulated Dog Play by Staff: A consistent highlight from customer reviews is the active supervision of dog play by the staff. This dedicated oversight helps to prevent conflicts and ensures a safer, more positive environment for all dogs, contributing to a "great environment."

  • Diverse Craft Beverage Selection: The taproom prides itself on a "good selection of other local breweries," beyond just Good Brewing favorites. With 16 constantly rotating taps, visitors can explore a wide range of craft beers, ciders, seltzers, and wines, along with non-alcoholic options and even a special non-alcoholic "dog beer" for pups.

  • 21+ Only for Humans: This policy creates a mature and relaxed atmosphere for adult dog owners, free from the distractions of children. It allows for a specific kind of social experience for human visitors.

  • Variety of Dog Services: Beyond just the park, the availability of doggy daycare, grooming, and training services makes Ales and Tails a comprehensive pet care hub, adding immense value for regular patrons.

Promotions or Special Offers

Ales and Tails, while offering a unique experience that many consider a "special offer" in itself, does have specific pricing models and occasional benefits for its patrons. Given its nature as a hybrid business (dog park + taproom + services), its promotions revolve around access and memberships.

  • Daily Passes: For casual visits, dog owners can pay a daily fee for their dog to access the indoor park. It's important to note that the fee applies to the dog, not the human, and you don't need a dog to enjoy the taproom.

  • Monthly and Annual Memberships: Ales and Tails offers membership plans for more frequent visitors. These monthly and annual memberships provide discounted rates for dog park access, making it more cost-effective for regular users.

  • Daycare Packages: For doggy daycare services, discount packages are available, which can be beneficial for owners utilizing this service on a regular basis.

  • Free Play on Mondays: While information on ongoing promotions can change, some sources indicate that Ales and Tails has offered "free play on Mondays," providing an excellent opportunity for locals to experience the park at no cost for their dog. It's always advisable to verify current offers directly with Ales and Tails or check their official website.

  • No Charge for Humans Without Pups: For those who simply wish to enjoy the taproom's ambiance and beverage selection, there is no charge to enter if you are not bringing a dog. This allows non-dog owners to still enjoy the unique environment.

While a traditional "promotions" section like a retail store might have, Ales and Tails focuses on value through its unique service offerings and membership structure, encouraging repeat visits and fostering a dedicated community.

Its innovative blend of an indoor dog park and a welcoming taproom directly addresses several key needs and desires of local residents.

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly in the Pacific Northwest, the indoor, climate-controlled environment is a game-changer. Washington’s weather can often limit outdoor activities, especially for active dogs. Ales and Tails provides a consistent, comfortable space for dogs to run, play, and socialize year-round, regardless of rain, cold, or heat. This ensures that canine companions can maintain their exercise routines and social connections without interruption, a significant advantage for their overall well-being.

Secondly, the "great idea" of combining a dog park with a taproom caters perfectly to the lifestyle of many Washingtonians. Locals appreciate being able to relax with a quality craft beer from local breweries while their dogs are safely enjoying themselves under the watchful eye of the staff. This creates a unique social hub where like-minded individuals can connect over shared interests – their love for dogs and appreciation for local brews. The fact that the dog play is "always well regulated by staff" provides immense peace of mind, ensuring a safe and positive experience for all dogs, from energetic pups to more reserved seniors.

Beyond the park and taproom, the additional services like doggy daycare, grooming, and training solidify Ales and Tails as a comprehensive resource for local dog parents. This multi-faceted approach offers convenience and adds significant value, making it a one-stop-shop for many pet care needs. The ability to order food from the adjacent Good Brewing Company also enhances the overall experience, turning a simple visit into a complete outing.

Finally, the "21 and over" policy for humans fosters a mature and convivial atmosphere, allowing adults to fully unwind and socialize. This focused environment is a distinct appeal for many local residents seeking adult-oriented recreational options that include their pets. Ales and Tails isn't just a business; it's a vibrant community space that enriches the lives of dogs and their owners, making it an ideal and cherished establishment for locals in the Washington region.

Love this place. The dogs play is always well regulated by staff. Great environment. Your dog will love it and so will you. There's a separate dog friendly tap room and good brew next door serves food

A huge playroom and plenty of beers on tap, with places to sit with your brew while watching your pup play. What more could you want? Maybe some pub food which you can get from Good Ales next door. We have a membership here so we can bring our pup anytime, and during the long rainy winter, it is a great place to get your dog some exercise. They also have day care and training. Love this place!

I’m so happy I found this place! Cindy groomed my ~5 month old mini poodle and he looks amazing! I’ve brought him in a few times to play and it’s a great spot to chat with fellow dog owners and get some energy out for the pups.

This place is fantastic! An indoor dog park, where the dogs are vetted to ensure they are up to date on their vaccines and conduct us monitored, with beers for the puppy parents. This is an absolutely fantastic find and has become a go-to when we want to get the dogs out and active at the end of a long day.
