They denied my 8-year-old and me access to the restroom when we were gonna buy a lot of stuff. The lady was super rude and even not looked at me she just walked away. They said because homeless can't use the restroom We do not look like homeless She said to go to Amazon Fresh and use their restroom. It can be illegal for a business to deny you access to their restroom.

Welcome to Unleashed by Petco, your local Pet Store Near Me, situated at 6331 E Spring St, Long Beach, CA 90808, USA. Unleashed by Petco aims to provide a range of pet supplies and services to the Long Beach community.

Based on recent customer experiences, there are mixed reviews regarding this location. One customer reported a negative experience concerning restroom access and perceived rudeness from a staff member. This individual was denied access to the restroom despite intending to make a purchase, which they found concerning and potentially against regulations.

On the other hand, another customer shared their experience with the in-store vaccination services for a new kitten. They found the estimated cost of $216 for the services to be reasonable. Their initial experience with Dr. Hancock and a vet tech named Naz was positive, describing them as gentle. However, a subsequent visit involving a different veterinarian, Dr. Denise Hall, resulted in a severely negative experience. The customer reported witnessing Dr. Hall handling their kitten roughly during a blood draw, causing the kitten significant distress and alarming the customer and other staff members. This incident has led the customer to express a lack of trust in Dr. Hall and to only feel comfortable with Dr. Hancock for future veterinary needs at this location.

The customer who reported the negative veterinary experience specifically praised Dr. Hancock as sharp and gentle. They also appreciated the support and apologies from the rest of the team following the incident with Dr. Hall. It is important for local users to be aware of these recent experiences when considering Unleashed by Petco for their pet care needs, particularly regarding veterinary services.

The 2 stars are not for the entire store itself but it will be if Dr Denise Hall is still employed here. I recently brought a new kitten into my home and decided to get him vaccinated asap. This is my first experience using Petco’s vaccinations services (paid in full - 216$ estimated) I think that was a pretty decent deal for the services I was getting and after reading the reviews I was just fine with that. The first time I was taken care of by Dr Hancock and the Vet tech Naz, they were very very gentle and I had my eye on them like a hawk. Mainly focusing on my kitten so that he didn’t scratch anyone but never would I have thought anyone could hurt him. These first rounds were normal, he was eating and drinking and playing fine. I scheduled the next couple of vaccines for Cosmo for today 5/28/24. I took my in kitten today, I noticed another Dr who was not Dr Hancock was in. She was rolling in a bin and had her own dog with her. She was a bit older, frail and she was wearing a mask and seemed a little worn down and/or unsure of what the process was with my animal. She finally figured it out. The first step was to draw blood. Naz & another vet tech (who had light colored hair) played the part as a vet tech today so I did feel safe with them there since I had an uneasy feeling already watching her body language. I didn’t think anything could go wrong. Naz begins to restrain the kitten for Dr Denise Hall to draw blood and as I look up from my cell phone waiting for the proceeds to be done i hear a murderous scream coming from my cat. She looked like she was about to BREAK his leg. The leg looked like it was about to snap in half if she applied more pressure. Before almost putting my hands on her the vet tech yelled “what are you doing??” I cursed loudly, the guests behind me overheard. She admitted that she was doing this to apply pressure to the vein?? But even the team was shocked that this was going on. This is absolutely NOT OKAY. INTOLERABLE. UNFORGIVABLE. This woman should not be allowed to work at any location or hold the responsibility with anyone’s animals. A bypasser took me to an isle as I stood there shaking and almost in tears that anyone would do that kind of thing. The bypasser (ex vet tech) talked me down from having a panic attack and saving me from embarrassment. I immediately warned the next 3 guests about the woman and told them she shouldn’t be touching your animals and if so watch her. I stand there for a minute deciding what I need to do next and the vet tech assigns me to another day with Dr Hancock, the doctor I felt the safest with. Dr Denise Hall then begins to leave while taking her dog and rolling her bin, she then says “I’m gonna leave before I get yelled at..” and in my head I’m just thinking this woman knew what kind of pain I was in. The rest of the team today supported me by giving me the doctor’s name who intentionally hurt my kitten: Dr Denise Hall. She is not to be scheduled with. She does not need to work here, she needs to go to a psych ward instead. She doesn’t need to have any animals around her not even her own pet. She’s sick. Unfortunately the only Dr I am trusting at this location for now is Dr Hancock, she is a blonde, young woman who was extremely sharp and gentle with Cosmo (kitten) my first time here. I’m keeping an eye on my cat for now, but I’m expecting bruises and some minor pain for the next few days. The Dr successfully received the blood testing and fortunately I will be back for the testing with Dr Hancock only until I find someone who is more fitting our needs. Unleashed I’m asking for you to fire this woman, she should not be allowed near any animals and needs some serious help instead. I also feel that being compensated or accommodated in some way to reassure my business with this corporation is extremely important as well since I will be returning a little more on edge in a week. I appreciate the team’s effort with the sincere apologies and hope that this woman is no longer here at this store.

First of all I would like to stress I shop many petco locations due to having a mobile job, this locations has a wonderful staff friendly helpful and just know how to provide excellent customer service. The Signal hill location on California ave has the worst staff absolutely no customer service Monica has no comon courtesy she never says excuse me when she walks in front of you, horrible service. Again I appreciate a team that provides excellent service. Ty! -Connie Rojas

I had my first visit today and it was a great experience. I had gone to a different petco before but they were not very helpful so I came to this one hoping they could take better care of my sick puppy. The staff were very friendly and answered all of my questions, I definitely recommend.
