We are looking to add a specific type of fish to our family so we came to check this place out. They had tons of variety and their prices seemed good. I loved that they had tons of aquascapes to check out and they had tons of supplies. A lot of the tanks seemed to be dirty or covered in algae and then the axolotl they had just looked really sad as he was squeezed into a small area where they had Bettas. This made me sad, as I’ve seen them kept in better environments elsewhere. The worker seemed really knowledgeable and took the time to answer our question, even though he was super busy. I’m sure their fish are great, just the cleanliness/appearance was a factor for me and we decided to not purchase our fish here. I did find it awesome they had some fish I haven’t seen in person or heard of.

The Fish Store Introduce

For aquarium enthusiasts and fish keepers in Seattle, WA, searching for a dedicated "Pet Store Near Me," The Fish Store located at 12320 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125, USA, offers a wide variety of fish and aquarium supplies. You can contact them at (206) 522-5259 or via mobile at +1 206-522-5259. Based on recent customer feedback, The Fish Store boasts an impressive selection of fish, including some rare and hard-to-find species, alongside a substantial inventory of aquarium-related products.

One of the notable features of The Fish Store, as highlighted by customer reviews, is its extensive variety of fish. If you are looking to add a specific type of fish to your aquarium, this store appears to be a strong contender, with "tons of variety" available. Beyond common species like guppies, amanos shrimp, and algae eaters, customers have been surprised to find fish that are "usually hard to find" and even some they had never seen or heard of before. This suggests that The Fish Store caters to both novice and experienced aquarists seeking unique additions to their tanks.

In addition to the diverse selection of fish, The Fish Store also offers a wide range of aquarium supplies. Customers have noted the availability of "tons of supplies" and have appreciated the presence of "tons of aquascapes to check out." This indicates that the store provides not only the living inhabitants for your aquarium but also the necessary equipment and decorative elements to create a thriving and aesthetically pleasing underwater environment. Whether you are setting up a new tank or looking to enhance your existing one, The Fish Store seems to have a comprehensive inventory of products to meet your needs.

The staff at The Fish Store are generally perceived as knowledgeable and friendly. One customer specifically mentioned that a worker was "really knowledgeable and took the time to answer our question, even though he was super busy." This suggests that despite potentially being a busy store, the staff are willing to assist customers and share their expertise. This can be particularly valuable for those who are new to fishkeeping or have specific questions about the care and compatibility of different species.

However, some customers have raised concerns regarding the cleanliness and appearance of some of the tanks. One reviewer noted that "a lot of the tanks seemed to be dirty or covered in algae." Additionally, there was a specific concern raised about the living conditions of an axolotl, which was described as being "squeezed into a small area where they had Bettas" and looking "really sad." These observations regarding the cleanliness of some tanks and the welfare of a specific animal are important factors for potential customers to consider regarding the overall environment of the store.

Another point of contention among reviewers is the pricing of both fish and supplies. While one customer initially felt that the "prices seemed good," another found that "the fish prices are high compared to other stores." This discrepancy suggests that pricing might vary depending on the species or might be perceived differently based on individual price comparisons. Furthermore, a specific and significant markup was noted on Fluval filters, with one customer reporting a Fluval 407 priced at $339, while it was available for $229 elsewhere. This substantial price difference on a common aquarium product is a crucial piece of information for budget-conscious shoppers.

The reviews also indicate that when the store is busy, it "can take sometime for them to address your needs." This is a common challenge for popular specialty stores and is something to keep in mind if you plan to visit during peak hours. However, the staff's willingness to help when they are available is a positive aspect.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews for The Fish Store. It is common for pet stores to have sales, discounts on specific brands or types of fish and supplies, or loyalty programs for regular customers. To inquire about any current promotions or special offers at The Fish Store, it would be best to visit their location at 12320 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125, or contact them directly by phone at (206) 522-5259 or +1 206-522-5259. Their staff will be able to provide you with the most up-to-date information on any ongoing deals.

For local users in Seattle looking for a "Pet Store Near Me" with a focus on a wide selection of fish, including potentially rare finds, and a comprehensive range of aquarium supplies, The Fish Store at 12320 Lake City Way NE is a destination worth considering. The knowledgeable staff can be a valuable resource for answering your questions and guiding your purchases. However, it is advisable to be mindful of potential pricing discrepancies compared to other retailers and to personally assess the cleanliness and overall environment of the store when you visit.

In conclusion, The Fish Store offers a significant advantage in terms of the variety of fish and aquarium supplies available in the Seattle area. The staff are reported to be knowledgeable and friendly, providing assistance to customers. However, potential customers should be aware of reported issues regarding tank cleanliness and potentially higher prices on some items. Visiting the store in person and comparing prices on key items with other retailers might be beneficial before making a purchase. For specific inquiries about current promotions or the availability of certain fish species, contacting The Fish Store directly is recommended.

Great selection of fishes than any fish store i have seen in seattle. I was shopping for some guppies, amanos and algae eaters. I was surprised to see some fishes that are usually hard to find. I wouldn't agree with other reviews that prices are fair. The fish prices are high compared to other stores. The fluval filters were insanely expensive compared to any other place. Fluval 407 was priced at $339 while it was selling for $229 everywhere. You cannot justify this markup. When the store is busy, it can take sometime for them to address your needs. The staff seems knowledgeable and friendly.

Awesome shop with a large selection of goods! The employees were very friendly and helpful. The livestock selection was diverse and they carried both marine and freshwater animals. The prices on products were very fair and they had a lot of cool stuff that I don't see in fish stores a lot of the time. One improvement could be maintaining a little bit more overall neatness in the store and updating some of the older systems that have become worn down over the years. That aside, I definitely recommend this shop as appearance isn't everything ;)

Lots of selection, but sketchy seeming because crowded tanks and unclean tanks. I understand algae doesn't hurt the fish, but a bad look when it grows so much so you can't see them at a store and fish are mislabeled. A dead fish just sitting on the counter in a bag.

Best site in Seattle for salt water species. I've never had any issues with any of my fish or corals. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend them to anyone.
