Going for the first time was a great experience. The employee was very friendly and very talkative. He knew what he was doing and was very polite. We only planned on being there for 10pm but ended up being there for an hour because of the great conversation we had with the employer. He even let us feed the tortoise for the store named “Betsy”. I would return because it was a fun experience.

Very knowledgible staff who clearly love reptiles and want every reptile to have a safe loving home:) theyre always down to answer questions. great selection of feeders too! Jj and emily have been particularly helpful. Where other reptile shops have lost my business with their rude diarespectful ways, Scales Exotic has earned my business! Gratitude. Well done. Best Reptile and Amphibian shop in Salt Lake! It’s smaller and very well taken care of. The animals are well fed and active. The glass and enclosures are cleaned constantly so customers can view the animals. Their supplies are top notch and they also have a few more exotics and surprises inside. I highly recommend that everyone stops by if you are interested in getting into the hobby. All of their staff are well-versed in the animals they provide. 💚🦎 🐍 🐢 🐸🐉

Way better then marks arc.. reptiles have enough space to not be stressed. Feeder mice at a good price and not all filled with mites. These guys do honest business. I purchased my Super Pastel Ball Python from their colorado store 3 years ago and he is amazing. Found out its the same owner at this location. Great stores! Scales and Tails has always done good for me.

We're considering getting snake and decided to drop in to do a little research. Our visit more than met our expectations. JJ gave us a tour and spent so much time educating us on ball pythons. It was wonderful. We'll definitely be back to shop when we're ready to have a snake join our home. As a bonus, there was a delightful tortoise that greeted us and was fun to watch wondering the store.
