Repticon Introduce
For residents of New Port Richey, Florida, and surrounding areas interested in the "Pet Store Near Me" category with a focus on reptiles and exotic animals, Repticon, held at 7716 Rutillio Ct, offers a unique experience. Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar pet stores, Repticon is a recurring event, often described as a reptile expo or show, where various vendors gather to showcase and sell a wide array of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and related supplies. To provide a detailed introduction for local users, it is crucial to consider the environment of such an event, the services and goods offered, the features that make it distinct, and any information regarding the event's atmosphere and organization based on available customer feedback.
The environment of Repticon is that of a large event or exhibition space temporarily transformed into a marketplace for exotic animals and their associated products. Attendees can expect to find numerous booths and tables set up by different vendors, each displaying a variety of live animals in enclosures, along with supplies such as terrariums, heating and lighting equipment, substrates, food, and accessories. The atmosphere is typically bustling, with many attendees browsing the selections, interacting with vendors, and learning about different species. However, one customer review noted a significant issue with the indoor temperature during the event, describing it as "REALLY REALLY HOT" to the point of being uncomfortable and limiting their visit. This suggests that the environmental conditions within the venue might be a factor for potential attendees to consider, particularly during warmer times of the year.
The primary service offered at Repticon is the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of exotic animals directly from breeders and suppliers. This can include reptiles such as snakes, lizards, turtles, and tortoises, as well as amphibians like frogs and salamanders, and invertebrates such as tarantulas, scorpions, and exotic insects. The vendors are typically knowledgeable about the animals they sell and can provide information on their care requirements, including habitat setup, feeding, and handling. Additionally, Repticon serves as a marketplace for reptile-related supplies, offering a diverse range of products that might not be readily available in traditional pet stores. This direct interaction with breeders and specialized vendors is a key aspect of the Repticon experience.
A significant feature of Repticon is the sheer variety of exotic animals available in one location. As one reviewer noted, there are "so many amazing animals to choose from," indicating a diverse selection that caters to both novice and experienced reptile enthusiasts. This concentration of numerous vendors in one space allows attendees to compare different species, see a wide range of morphs and colors, and potentially find rare or hard-to-find animals. The event also provides an opportunity to speak directly with breeders and experts, gaining firsthand knowledge about the animals and their specific needs. For those passionate about reptiles and exotic pets, Repticon is a unique event that brings together a large community of enthusiasts and vendors.
Another feature, implied by the recurring nature of the event ("We go every year"), is that Repticon is not a one-time occurrence but rather a periodic event that local reptile enthusiasts can look forward to. This annual (or more frequent) presence in the New Port Richey area establishes it as a consistent destination for those interested in acquiring or learning more about exotic animals. The fact that attendees return year after year suggests a generally positive experience, with the exception of the reported issue with the venue's temperature.
The negative review concerning the heat inside the venue is a crucial point to consider. If the event organizers do not adequately manage the temperature, it could significantly detract from the overall experience for both attendees and vendors. The reviewer's statement about only being able to stay for a limited time due to the heat and considering asking for a refund highlights the severity of this issue. Potential attendees might want to inquire about the venue's climate control measures, especially if attending during warmer months.
The provided information does not mention any specific promotional activities for Repticon in New Port Richey. Reptile expos often have entry fees, and vendors will have their own pricing for animals and supplies. There might be special events or guest speakers scheduled as part of the expo, but this information is not available in the provided reviews. To learn about ticket prices, event schedules, vendor lists, and any special promotions, interested individuals should consult the official Repticon website or any local announcements related to the New Port Richey event.
In conclusion, Repticon at 7716 Rutillio Ct in New Port Richey, FL, offers a unique "Pet Store Near Me" experience for those interested in reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. It is a recurring event that brings together numerous vendors offering a wide variety of exotic animals and related supplies. Attendees can expect a bustling marketplace atmosphere with opportunities to purchase animals directly from breeders and to find specialized products. A significant concern raised by one reviewer is the potentially uncomfortable heat inside the venue, which prospective attendees should be aware of. Despite this issue, the annual return of attendees suggests that the event generally provides a valuable experience for reptile enthusiasts in the area. To get the most up-to-date information on event dates, times, ticket prices, and any special features, it is recommended to check official Repticon resources.

May 08, 2019 · backed roseActually, I felt sorry for the vendors who booked their boots to be there for 2 days it was REALLY REALLY HOT inside, to the point I could only stay for less than 30-45minutes.... and would've asked for a refund for my door fee to get in, But I was in too big of a hurry to get in my car and turn on my A/C. AND THATS A FACT.
Oct 03, 2019 · Gino “HUMAN ALIEN” BogersGreat place to see all kinds of reptiles from snakes to monkeys. Great prices. On everything. You can bargain with the breeders. Since there are so many there. I like sticking with the bigger shows like Tampa. Orlando. Or. Lakeland more choices.
Sep 20, 2019 · GoVaca ComI've been going to this New Port Richey Repticon year after year and I must say that it's becoming more and more disappointing. Most of the vendors that sell animals are trying to sell "designer" animals and so any normal critter is "not worth the effort to breed" from what these vendors who attended are telling me. Here's my issue: You want a healthy animal? You're advised to buy from a breeder directly rather than get them from a pet store that keeps their animals in unhealthy conditions. Now the breeders are saying there's no money in the "normal" animals. I breed several animals and put in an application to be a vendor for this most recent Repticon. I was informed that I was on a waitlist and that the venue was already booked...Great right? Well, I found out that a business selling chocolates and candies had like 10 tables booked and a table or two of someone selling special kitchen knifes....really? I sell animals related to reptiles and the hobby and I was denied because a vendor wanted to sell chocolates at this event.. There's several of these weird vendor spots at these events and these could have been filled by excellent vendors related somehow to reptiles. There was one single vendor who specialized in bearded dragons and the cheapest they had was $90 followed by a $120 "designer" bearded... You'd think that there would be some good deals to be had here at this type of event, but everything is full price so like another review said, after you spend your money for the entrance fee (way overpriced in my opinion) then you'll also be paying full price (and then some) for most of the animals/equipment here. Overall, Repticon has been lacking more and more each time I go. It's an absolute disappointment. Hopefully they do better in the years to come and stop this 10 tables of chocolate and kitchen knifes at a reptile show silliness.
