The owner, Eric Caplan, is refusing to honor his own adoption contract terms. I have to surrender my dogs that I adopted from ASAP Rescue but he is stating that they can’t take dogs over 40 pounds. (I am required, by contract, to surrender the dogs back to them. And other shelters won’t take them because I got them from a different shelter.) Why would you, a rescue shelter, put dogs up for adoption that you can’t take back? This was never stated to me and it’s not in the contract. This is highly unethical of a business, let alone a rescue shelter. This has been devastating for my entire family and ASAP Rescue is making matters so much more difficult for us.

Petland Village of Eastside Introduce

For pet owners residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the neighboring areas, the search for a convenient "Pet Store Near Me" may lead them to Petland Village of Eastside, located at 6401 Penn Ave. This establishment operates as a local pet supply retailer, offering a physical storefront where customers can purchase various goods for their animal companions. Based on the limited feedback available from online reviews, Petland Village of Eastside aims to provide a diverse selection of products and certain pet-related services to the local community.

According to customer reviews, the environment of Petland Village of Eastside is characterized as a "well stocked store." This suggests that local users can anticipate finding a wide array of pet supplies catering to different types of animals, potentially including food, treats, toys, bedding, grooming tools, health and wellness products, and other essential items. The physical presence of the store on Penn Ave offers a tangible shopping option for residents in the Eastside of Pittsburgh who prefer to browse and purchase pet supplies in person. Furthermore, the availability of "free parking in large lot in front of store" adds a layer of convenience for customers who drive to the location, facilitating the transport of their purchases, particularly larger or heavier items.

In terms of services offered, the customer reviews specifically mention "grooming for dogs." Notably, one reviewer expressed high satisfaction with the grooming service, describing the groomer as the "best we had." This positive testimonial indicates that local dog owners seeking professional grooming services for their canine companions may find a valuable resource at Petland Village of Eastside. The provision of on-site grooming enhances the potential convenience of the store, allowing customers to address both their pet supply needs and grooming requirements in a single location. The positive feedback regarding the quality of the grooming service could be a significant attraction for dog owners in the vicinity.

Another aspect highlighted in the customer reviews is the presence of "friendly staff." Positive interactions with store personnel can significantly contribute to a pleasant and satisfactory shopping experience. Friendly and helpful staff members can assist customers in locating desired products, provide information and answer questions about different items, and offer general guidance related to pet care. This element of customer service can foster a sense of trust and loyalty among local pet owners, encouraging them to return for their future pet supply needs. A welcoming and helpful staff can make the process of purchasing pet necessities more enjoyable and less daunting, particularly for new pet owners or those seeking specific advice.

However, it is imperative to address a serious and concerning negative review that presents a contrasting perspective on Petland Village of Eastside, particularly in relation to its involvement with pet adoptions and its alleged handling of contractual obligations. One reviewer recounts a deeply troubling experience involving the owner, Eric Caplan, and an alleged refusal to honor the terms of an adoption contract concerning dogs adopted from ASAP Rescue through Petland Village of Eastside. According to this account, the customer was contractually obligated to surrender the adopted dogs back to ASAP Rescue but was reportedly informed that Petland Village of Eastside could not accommodate dogs exceeding 40 pounds. The reviewer expresses significant distress and raises ethical concerns regarding this situation, questioning the rationale behind a rescue shelter (implied to be operating through or in conjunction with Petland Village of Eastside) placing dogs for adoption if it was unable to take them back as stipulated in its own contract. The reviewer also states that this weight limitation was not disclosed prior to the adoption or included in the adoption contract.

This negative account raises serious questions about the ethical practices and operational integrity of Petland Village of Eastside, especially in its capacity as a facilitator of pet adoptions and its interactions with rescue organizations and adopters. The reviewer's claim that other shelters were unwilling to take the dogs due to their adoption source further underscores the difficult and emotionally distressing situation in which the customer found themselves. The accusation of "highly unethical" behavior towards both the customer and the animals involved warrants careful consideration by local users who may be contemplating adopting pets through this establishment or relying on its purported affiliations with rescue organizations. This review suggests a potential lack of transparency, a failure to uphold contractual agreements, and a disregard for the well-being of adopted animals and the commitments made to adopters and rescue partners.

Given the limited and conflicting information gleaned from these two customer reviews, it is challenging to construct a fully comprehensive and entirely objective portrayal of Petland Village of Eastside. On one hand, there is positive feedback highlighting a well-stocked store, friendly staff, and commendable dog grooming services, suggesting that the establishment may effectively cater to the general needs of local pet owners seeking supplies and grooming. On the other hand, the serious allegations presented in the negative review concerning adoption contract issues and ethical practices cannot be dismissed. This account paints a concerning picture of potential mismanagement or a lack of commitment to the welfare of adopted animals and the obligations owed to adopters and rescue partners.

Based solely on the provided text, there is no information available regarding specific promotional offers, discounts, or special events that Petland Village of Eastside may be currently running. Local users interested in learning about any such promotions are advised to contact the store directly using the provided phone numbers: (412) 363-7387 or +1 412-363-7387. Direct communication with the store is the most reliable way to obtain current and accurate information regarding product availability, pricing, services, and any ongoing promotions that may be of interest to local pet owners.

In conclusion, Petland Village of Eastside, located at 6401 Penn Ave in Pittsburgh, PA, presents a somewhat ambiguous picture based on the limited customer feedback available. While the store appears to offer a well-stocked retail environment, friendly staff, and satisfactory dog grooming services, which could be beneficial for local pet owners seeking these resources, a significant negative review detailing serious allegations of unethical behavior and a failure to honor an adoption contract raises substantial concerns about the store's practices, particularly in its involvement with pet adoptions and rescue organizations. Local users should carefully weigh both the positive and negative feedback when considering Petland Village of Eastside as a potential "Pet Store Near Me" and may wish to seek further information or clarification regarding the concerns raised in the negative review before engaging in adoption processes through this establishment.

I like this pet store and was able to get the fish that I was looking for. I also bought a betta fish and they sell all your things for your aquariums Nice friendly staff. You can accumulate points when you buy things. Children under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

The cashier only charged my husband for 1 bag of food instead of 3. They proceeded to call me many times asking me (I wasn't there) to pay for the additional bags. Then the cashier tried following me on Instagram? Then the manager (I'm assuming) threatened to file a police report? For their mistake? Don't go there. Go to Petagogy down the street where it's truly local and where they have amazing customer service. Also they sell puppies from puppy mills under the guise of adoption. Google petland Pittsburgh and prepare to be disgusted.
