Petco

My daughter and I walked into Petco today with the intention of getting our dog, Teddy, groomed because he had some knots on his fur. The lady at desk explained the they were very booked throughout the day. We dropped Teddy off at around 10:15 AM and proceeded to go on with our day, waiting for the call to pick him up. Fast forward over 5 hours later, we still hadn't gotten a call, which is absurd because the average time is 1-3 hours. (By the way Teddy is very small, but he is fairly timid, and nervous about being in new places.) At 3:45 PM we had finally gotten the call to pick him up because he was ready. We drove back to Petco, and the employee who groomed Teddy, I believe her name was Cheryl, was very rude and kept downright staring at my daughter say phrases such as, "SOMEONE was cutting his paws," inferring that she was doing that. My daughter is 12 years old and very mature for her age, so I know she wouldn't cut his paws because she has no reason to. I paid for the grooming, and gave $20 tip, which no "Thank you," was said to. Which no she doesn't have to say anything, but it is a bit rude. We got Teddy and went to our car and started to go back home, my daughter was holding him until she noticed a fairly large cut on his genital area. We were not notified of this! Yes, I understand nicks and cuts happen, but if that happened you would certainly tell the customer and apologize for the inconvenience. Overall I don't plan to take either of my dogs here again if they are going to be treat is such as disorderly and rude manner.

Xavier is an amazing groomer. He has been my dogs groomer for a year now, and my dog enjoys his visits to the store. Highly recommend him .

I just started going to this Petco three months ago and have noticed how well run it is.The manager Tyler, And his staff who takes care of the Store are doing a fantastic job. For me, I’ve noticed the aquatic section which is where I do 80 percent of my shopping is Top notch, always clean and well taken care of tanks. I used to go to the Stratford Petco because of their aquatics, but I believe the store in West Port is leaps and bounds ahead of that store. All employees are always pleasant. It’s a pleasure to shop there.

Visited today and was very sad to see the poor care given to the guinea pigs for sale. Both guinea pigs looked lethargic and very weak. I noticed that while they had kibble, there was zero hay. Just pure hay dust from what was previously fed. This can be extremely dangerous to their health and can cause bloating and critical health. Compared to other petcos I’ve been to, the care here is lacking.

If I had the option to give zero stars I would’ve. Emerly is the worst groomer I have ever encountered. Not only did she give my dog a horrible cut which went against my clear instructions of how I wanted the cut, she sounded insensitive and completely disregarded my concerns. Please do not go to this location for grooming. They don’t not listen and do what they want to do.
