Petco Introduce

For local residents in Elmhurst, Illinois, searching under the category "Pet Store Near Me," the Petco located at 199 IL-83 offers the accessibility of a neighborhood pet supply retailer. However, customer feedback presents a somewhat polarized view, with one positive comment regarding a specific aspect of the store contrasted by a significant negative experience concerning the grooming services.

One concise review offers a positive note about a particular section of the store: "It's hard sometimes to find the 'right' one, but I found my beauty. This location has a great bird selection, too!! Who knew!" This brief but enthusiastic comment indicates that the Petco in Elmhurst has a noteworthy variety of birds available for purchase. The reviewer expresses satisfaction with their acquisition and seems pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection within the bird department. This suggests that for local bird enthusiasts, this Petco location might be a valuable resource for finding avian companions and potentially related supplies.

In stark contrast, another customer shares a decidedly negative experience, specifically focusing on the grooming services: "This is the closest Petco to my house, and the only reason I come here is its convenience. However, the groomers are consistently rude and unprofessional. This is the third time I’ve had a negative experience with them. They even refused to give my dog a haircut, claiming they don’t offer that service, while other Petco locations in Florida have no problem giving my dog a bath and haircut. The staff here are lazy and disrespectful. I will not be bringing my pet back to this location again." This detailed negative review raises serious concerns about the professionalism and quality of the grooming services at this Elmhurst Petco. The customer explicitly states that their primary reason for visiting is the store's convenient location, implying that other aspects might not be as satisfactory. The repeated negative experiences with the groomers ("consistently rude and unprofessional," "third time") suggest a potentially systemic issue within this department at this specific store. The refusal to provide a haircut, a service apparently available at other Petco locations (as experienced in Florida), is also troubling, indicating a possible inconsistency in service offerings across different branches of the same chain. The strong accusations of the staff being "lazy and disrespectful" paint a very negative picture of the customer service within the grooming department and have led this customer to vow not to return with their pet.

Considering these reviews, the environment of the Petco in Elmhurst, IL, is likely typical of a large chain pet store. It would generally be expected to offer a wide array of pet supplies, including food, toys, bedding, and accessories for various types of animals. Based on one review, there is a notable "great bird selection," suggesting dedicated space and resources for avian species. The overall cleanliness and organization would likely adhere to Petco's standard corporate guidelines. However, the negative review regarding the grooming services casts a shadow on the customer service aspect of the environment, at least within that specific department.

The services offered at this Petco location would generally include the retail sale of pet supplies and food for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, small animals, and, as highlighted, birds. Grooming services are also offered, but the customer feedback indicates significant issues with the professionalism and potentially the scope of these services compared to other Petco stores. It is plausible that other standard Petco services, such as basic pet care advice, might also be available, but the reviews do not specifically comment on these.

A potential feature of this Petco in Elmhurst, based on the positive review, is its "great bird selection," which might appeal to local bird owners or those considering getting a bird. However, a significant negative feature, as pointed out by the other review, is the consistently rude and unprofessional grooming service, along with the apparent limitation in the types of grooming offered (no haircuts). The discrepancy in service availability compared to other Petco locations is also a notable point.

Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any information about specific promotional offers or special programs at this Petco location in Elmhurst. Petco as a national chain frequently offers various promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs. These might include sales on specific brands of food or supplies, discounts for new customers, or rewards programs for repeat purchases. The grooming salon might also have its own promotions at times. However, without any mention of these in the Elmhurst-specific reviews, an objective introduction cannot include this information. Local users interested in learning about any current promotions at this store are encouraged to check the Petco website or contact the store directly.

In conclusion, the Petco located in Elmhurst, IL, at 199 IL-83 offers the convenience of a local pet store and appears to have a particularly good selection of birds, which may be a draw for avian enthusiasts. However, potential customers, especially those considering grooming services for their dogs, should be aware of the serious negative feedback regarding the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the groomers, as well as the reported refusal to provide certain services like haircuts that are available at other Petco locations. While the store likely offers a standard range of pet supplies, the inconsistent experience with the grooming department is a significant factor for local pet owners to consider.

I want to be clear that this review isn’t about store policy. It’s about the rude, arrogant, and dismissive way I was treated by a particular employee who showed zero compassion for my situation. I visited to purchase Just Food for Dogs today because I’d forgotten mine at home and am visiting my family to watch the election. I’ve bought it here before without a prescription (photo attached), so I assumed there wouldn’t be an issue. The staff person at the counter politely explained that I needed a prescription, though it was confusing since it’s just fresh dog food I could make at home. I was wondering if maybe this had medication and there was a different one that word work as an alternative since I had bought the same thing here before without an issue. She tried her best to clarify but eventually called over another employee from the shelves for assistance. This second worker was a younger girl who did not appear she wanted be there. She made it instantly clear that she was annoyed at being interrupted. Her attitude was shockingly unprofessional. Her tone and expression was short, bratty, and visibly irritated by having to help. When I asked if there was any alternative food I could buy, she simply replied ‘no’ in the most dismissive tone, making it clear she had no interest in helping and immediately went back to stocking shelves. There was no attempt at an explaination, to offer options, or show any sympathy for my situation. Simply that I would need a prescription. It felt like I was a nuisance, not a customer. I still had the old pictured bag I previously bought without a problem. I wanted a fresh bag because I assumed the bag I bought was expired. When I thought of this, I went back to ask how long these last and if it would be OK to just use that. Unfortunately, this same employee was the only one available. As soon as I started to ask, she gave me a look of pure exasperation, as though I was wasting her time with a trivial question. Her response was condescending and snotty: 'The expiration date is right on the bag,' as if it was absurd I couldn’t find it myself. When I explained I couldn’t locate it on my bag, she sighed loudly, grabbed a bag off the shelf, and pointed it out in a way that was deliberately demeaning, as if to say, ‘How could you miss this?’ At this point, I told her I was upset and that I’d be writing a review. Her response was to double down on her arrogance. She assumed I meant because of the store policiy, not because of her treatment. She went wide-eyed and defensively replied, 'A prescription for a dog is like a prescription for a human. We can’t break the law.' Then, in a sarcastic, insincere tone, she said, 'Well, I’m very sorry I wasn’t able to help you today,' clearly meaning the exact opposite. I left feeling disrespected and frustrated by her complete lack of compassion and professionalism. I beleive my situation was reasonable. I came in looking for assistance with my dog’s food, and instead, I was met with open disdain. Her attitude and behavior were not only unhelpful but deeply disrespectful to my situation.

Beware! Read till the end before booking a grooming here! I book on the app every time I go to the groomer here because they have a very convenient platform and I like that it’s buy 7 get 1 free. However, every time I go in they ask how I want my dogs hair cut, I say whatever it was last time. They never have the last time on file, and say it created me a new account. Even though I book through the app under the same login every time. I’ve called customer service and have spent a collective 3 hours on hold while they try and figure it out. They’ve never been able to figure it out or merge the accounts so I’ve never gotten a free groom. I’ve waited on call backs from supervisors, I’ve never gotten one, all I’ve gotten is a call saying, we are sorry, we don’t know why this is occurring and there is nothing we can do. So that’s annoying but not end of the world. What’s HEARTBREAKING is, the last time my dog was there he came back to us TERRIFIED. I cannot stand over him without him cowering and flinching. He is shaking all the time now. He is not himself at all. He has had many grooms before and has never had an issue. He is refusing to go on walks now when he used to love them, it is absolutely heartbreaking. Something clearly happened to him there as he is never out of our sight and has not been left since. My husband works from home, we have no kids and no other pets so nothing else could possibly have caused this and it was super apparent the second I picked him up that he was not okay. The lady who did his grooming was rude to me when I dropped him off and when I picked him up. It was very evident that she hated her job. It just absolutely breaks my heart that she would treat my poor baby bad. It’s been a few days now and there’s still no shift in his behavior. He’s only 11 months old and 8 pounds. Praying he will be better soon. We Will NEVER be back or buy anything from Petco again.

Was at the store in Norridge I asked the mullet wearing weirdo if they had any leftover (from Valetines Day) tennis balls with Valentine’s Day sayings on them. With no expression she stared at my face and said it’s not Valentine’s Day anymore. Me-Yes, I am aware of that. No kidding. I said, do you know if there’s any in the back maybe? She said No. I said, could you check in the back to see if you have any left over? and she said no. I said, can you get somebody to help me? she said No. I toss the toy that I had already onto the counter. I went to the Elmhurst store, which was closer to my destination anyway. It was wonderful! .. welcoming friendly faces, incredibly friendly staff, friendly helpful service. It was like night and day! I have a new Granddoggie and this is where I’ll be buying all her gifts!! I’ll never step foot in the Norridge store again. I put it out there on Facebook and I hope none of my friends go there again either. I hope this girl gets fired. Pos. What a disgusting experience. Turned awesome thanks to the Elmhurst store!! 5🌟
