Customer Reviews
First day no one was around had to go ask someone to call for help in aquatics. Went home and all my fish died. Second day I got a very rude staff member who didn’t want to stop what she was doing so she called someone else to help me. I have a New planted tank that’s been set for weeks with no water issues, the second at the counter before I left I showed the cashier they looked lethargic but I didn’t want to go back to said rude staff member and again they all died this morning won’t be returning to this store. All my other fish and snails are fine.
The store is in a nice and convenient location in Brooklyn but it’s an awful place to shop. Good luck trying to get someone to help you with anything. I asked the young gentleman who was working on the 2nd floor to assist with purchasing salt water fish and he simply walked away. I kid you not! He was walking around the store with both ear pods plugged into his ears. He takes one of his earbuds to hear what I was saying then puts it back on his ear and doesn’t even say a word. Just walked away. (See picture of him walking away) Unbelievable! No care in the world…. How is he, as an employee, be allowed to walk around the store with headphones plugged in both of his ears??!! Employees should be there to help customers not walk around the store with earbuds and completely ignore customers. Some areas in the store were a complete mess! (See pictures) It’s a shame to see careless employees and complete lack of customer service and support.
In this Petco, I don’t know the name of the cashier, but he speaks Spanish, not very loudly, and he works at the register most days. His treatment towards me was disgusting; he served me reluctantly and handed me the products in a bad mood. He doesn’t know how to treat customers well; he chooses who to treat nicely and who to treat poorly. They should consider their employees and their regular customers. Being treated like that means I won’t return because of this employee. They need to increase the staff at the registers, as having only one who serves poorly makes it uninviting to go there 🙄.
Two days ago, I went to buy a pair of collars for my cat. For some strange reason, the main door was locked, so another person and I entered through the other, small door. A staff member saw us while I was on the phone and opened the door for us. Later, when we were already inside, a woman with long, blond hair started yelling at us with a very unprofessional attitude, complaining about why we came in because they had restricted access at that moment. I could understand her point, but her aggressive way of speaking to us was not appropriate. They didn't even have any warning in advance that they were advising us about restricted access. I wanted to get out of there so badly because it's supposed to be a friendly place for everyone, but that girl takes away from the magic of the place. I can't believe you have such unprofessional people working there, and on top of that, you yell at the customers like we're nothing... it's just stupid.
My fiancé and I love to go to this location because Carlos gives us the best advice for our fish tanks. He’s helped us purchase three tanks so far and always goes the extra mile when it comes to selecting our fishy inhabitants! Overall the staff here is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
