Terrible customer service. I bought a fish yesterday, but it was unwell—stuck in one spot, not swimming or eating. When I tried to return it to prevent the situation from getting worse, the associate refused, blaming my water quality, or other fish poking at him, without even testing it. His colleague had tested the water just the day before at the same location and said water quality was perfect. Meanwhile, there was the exact same kind of fish dead in their own tank the next day as you can see in the picture. Instead of being helpful, they just made excuses and gave me a hard time. Very frustrating experience—won’t be buying from here again.

Petco is a national retailer operating a chain of pet stores across the United States. Typically, Petco stores offer a wide array of merchandise for various types of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds, and small animals. This includes pet food from numerous brands, a variety of treats and supplements, a wide selection of toys and accessories designed for different animal species, habitats and enclosures, grooming tools and products, and various health and wellness items. Petco stores often also sell live animals, such as fish, small mammals like hamsters and guinea pigs, reptiles like lizards and snakes, and sometimes birds.

In addition to retail sales, Petco stores frequently offer services catering to pet owners. These can include professional grooming services for dogs and cats, where trained groomers provide baths, haircuts, nail trims, and other hygiene services. Many locations also host dog training classes, ranging from basic obedience to more specialized behavioral training. Furthermore, Petco often partners with local animal welfare organizations to host adoption events, providing a platform for shelter animals to find new homes within the community. The presence of third-party veterinary clinics operating within some Petco locations is also common, offering routine medical care for pets.

However, it is important to consider recent feedback from customers regarding their experiences at this particular Petco location in Lynnwood. One customer reported a negative experience concerning the purchase of a fish that appeared to be in poor health shortly after acquisition. The customer's attempt to return the unwell fish was reportedly met with resistance from a store associate who allegedly attributed the issue to the customer's water quality without conducting any tests. This was contradicted by a recent water test performed by another store employee, which indicated satisfactory water conditions. The reviewer further noted the presence of a deceased fish of the same type in the store's tank the following day, raising concerns about the overall health management of aquatic life at this location. The customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation and indicated their intent to avoid future purchases from this store.

Another concerning review detailed observations regarding the living conditions of ball pythons housed at this Petco location. The customer described these conditions as "deplorable" and reported the presence of a septic mite infection among the reptiles. According to the review, store staff were aware of these issues, yet the affected animals remained on public display. While the employee who directly interacted with the customer was described as empathetic and took immediate action to remove one of the visibly ill snakes, they reportedly stated that they were unable to alter the standard care protocols. The reviewer also noted signs of dehydration in the snake. This customer also expressed their intention not to return to the store due to concerns about the welfare of the animals.

Given these recent negative reviews, it is challenging to provide a description of the store's environment and services that focuses solely on positive aspects. The reported issues regarding animal care, specifically for aquatic life and reptiles, and the negative customer service experience related to a sick animal raise concerns that potential customers should be aware of. These reviews suggest potential shortcomings in the store's animal husbandry practices and customer service protocols in certain situations.

While Petco as a national brand typically aims to maintain certain standards for store environment and animal care, these recent reviews indicate a potential deviation from those standards at this specific Lynnwood location. Customers who prioritize the well-being of animals and expect responsive customer service may want to consider these experiences when deciding whether to visit this store, especially if they are considering purchasing live animals.

Information regarding specific promotional activities at this Petco store in Lynnwood is not included in the provided text. Generally, Petco often offers various promotions and discounts throughout the year, which may be advertised in-store, online, or through their loyalty program. These promotions can include discounts on specific brands of pet food, special offers on toys and accessories, or savings on grooming services. To inquire about current promotions or any loyalty programs offered at the Lynnwood location, it is recommended to contact the store directly or visit their website.

In conclusion, Petco in Lynnwood, WA, as a "Pet Store Near Me," offers a wide range of pet supplies and potentially various services such as grooming and veterinary care (through third-party providers). However, recent customer feedback indicates significant concerns regarding the health and living conditions of certain live animals, particularly fish and reptiles, as well as issues with customer service when addressing concerns about animal welfare. Potential customers are advised to consider these recent experiences when evaluating this store for their pet care needs and may wish to make their own observations if they choose to visit.

Will never be returning. Ball pythons kept in deplorable conditions and with a mite infection that has gone septic. Staff were aware that they had issues and still kept them on display. The employee we spoke to directly was very kind and understanding and took this little guy immediately, but stated they couldn’t change substrate/care conditions as it was standard. Snake appeared to also be dehydrated.

I had a disappointing experience at this Petco location when trying to return an unhealthy fish. The manager (a man with long hair) was unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily difficult throughout the process. We purchased an assorted swordtail that appeared unwell from the start. When we returned to the store, my wife was met with excessive and unhelpful questioning rather than assistance. Despite seeing another dead swordtail in their tank, the manager was reluctant to accept the return. He also contradicted store procedures by refusing to test the bag water, even though another employee had done so the day before. His demeanor was condescending, and when I addressed his behavior, he gave a half-hearted apology, which felt insincere. When I offered a handshake as a gesture of resolution, he refused. I was under the impression that another person at the front desk was the actual manager, but when I asked, the man with long hair claimed he was the manager. His attitude throughout the interaction, including waving dismissively at me, showed a complete lack of professionalism. This experience left a negative impression, and I cannot recommend this location due to their poor customer service and mistreatment of customers. We reserve the right to escalate this matter to higher management or corporate if necessary, as no customer should have to deal with such unprofessional treatment.

If you care about the health of animals, do not come here. The store had on display, for sale, ball pythons 6 months or younger being kept on aspen with humidity at 15%. This has led to them developing respiratory infections and stuck sheds. On top of this, at least one snake had severe snake mites, and judging by the red blotching on its stomach, a severe septic infection as well. I have no doubts the mites have spread to every other reptile tank on the display. These animals are being advertised new keeper friendly, to sell them while lethally and contagiously diseased is horrific to keepers and the animals alike. If you are unaware, these mites will spread and kill an entire collection if left unattended. When this was brought to employee's attention they were very sympathetic, knowledgable, and understanding, but informed me managment would not let them change bedding or take the diseased animals off the display. This was confirmed by a (presumed) floor manager who fully admitted they know about the mites, and choose to keep them availabe to sell. If you have bought a reptile here there is no doubt in my mind they are mite-infested, dehydrated, and sick. Do not shop here.

After my little dog received a nail trim/polish, she was sensitive and limping a little. The following day, I returned to Petco to ask if something happened during the session. Everyone said nothing happened. The next time I brought her in, after the trim/polish, was told they wouldn't do her nails anymore because she was acting like she would nip them. To me that was a new behavior, and verification something indeed had happened the previous time. We are now banned from Petco nail service. Not that I would ever return to that location, but it means from all locations. Petco, review how your employees are treating dogs/ customers! This is just wrong that this happened in this way. Will let others know, and we know a lot of dog ppl
