I bought 4 guppies in mid October, added them to my well established 30gl tank and after a couple of days they all died. I went back a couple of weeks later and got 4 more. Slowly and gradually all my guppies that I had for over a year and some longer got sick and died. Most probably it was bacterial fin rot. Adding the whole cycle of medication and doing massive change of water didn’t save my fish. I will never buy any fish from that store. There is an amazing store in CT and even if it it 1.15h away, I will rather drive there than risk anything like that ever again.

I didn't have any issues with any employee when I was here but I did notice several concerning things. I have worked at petco and I think we should advocate for the animals as employees of the company. That being said, I noticed dead anemones in the fish tanks which turn into ammonia bombs and kill the rest of the fish. I also noticed that their crested gecko had floppy tail syndrome, which comes from a lack of proper diet and/or lighting. If you're going to sell live animals you need to make sure you're actually caring for them properly. "Rescuing" them by buying them doesn't even help because they do it to the next animal too. I highly recommend getting your animals from reputable breeders so that Petco as a whole gives up on selling animals that they can't even care for.

I ordered Seachem prime and fish tank filter cartridges. I’m giving 2 stars because it came within a timely manner. However. My box of filters was wide open, no seal whatsoever. Because of that, there was charcoal all over the bottom of the box the package came in, and my Seachem was absolutely covered in charcoal. My hands ended up covered from trying to clean off the bottle. The fact that my box of filters was opened, freaked me out as well. I know it’s just filters, but how do I know that those filters weren’t previously used? There was no seal on the box at all.

The staff at this petco were all so helpful! The store is clean and well stocked. They also accommodated me for a walk-in with my puppy to get his face trimmed. Amber was so patient and wonderful with my dog. Thank you so much guys!!!
