Petco

I came here to get some food for my dog and decided to take a look at the fish as I was considering on getting one in the near-future. In the fish section I saw tanks that were the dirtiest I have ever seen. The water was brown and filthy, and there were a few fish that were DEAD on the floor of the tank. I decide to walk past it and look at the others, however I had to avoid stepping on a squashed dead fish on the actual floor. I was so disturbed that I just bought the food and walked out. The state of the other animals aren’t the best, yet aren’t the worst. But the fish? Obviously disregarded and in an abominable condition. While I did find the food that I was searching for, you could be doing so much better with the care of your fish and that section of the store in general. This visit not only finalized my decision of finding another Petco to shop in, but led me to have a lower opinion of the company. Maybe I’ll just go the extra mile and go to Petsmart instead, and maybe they won’t have dead stepped-on fish in their aisles.

Edit: I was a bit apprehensive with my last experience, but I’m glad I came back. Everyone was as nice and helpful as always. I felt very reassured with my previous issues were listened to and taken seriously. I’m very grateful for the wonderful staff here. 🫶🏻 I shop here every week with my dogs. Every single week. I went in and asked for help getting a mouse and crickets. I assumed the cashier, Brooke, would just call someone to assist me. It’s standard if they can’t immediately aide to do so. Instead I was met with a lot of attitude “Theirs like three other people walking around the store. Go find one of them” when I voiced that I thought she’d just call someone else to help, she gave me even more attitude saying “I can but it’s not gonna change anything if they’re helping someone else.” Etc. I didn’t mind having to wait, I just wanted to ensure that I’d be next. It’s not the first time I’ve had problems with her, and she’s the only one I ever seem to have any negative interactions with. It’s very unfortunate as my dogs love that store, and it was one of my favorite until tonight.

Bought something a while back, asked the associate if I could return it after Christmas if they didn't fit. I was told I absolutely could, for store credit. Did Christmas, they didn't fit. I was able to make it in today. They wouldn't return or give store credit. I would not have bought that day, if the worker hadnt said I could bring them back if needed. Customers are the reason stores stay open , learn to treat them with respect.

Good and well-groomed animals, good and high-quality products, as well as food for parrots. It's better to clean after chinchillas, as there was an unpleasant smell in the store. On my second visit, I bought a cage and a parrot. I didn't like that they sell mirrors for them. PEOPLE, IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR PARROT TO GO CRAZY, DON'T BUY IT A MIRROR TOY. That's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. But overall, everything is excellent, I really liked the variety of fish.

Rahul was amazingly helpful! He informed me about some things I didn't know about and helped save me money. Great customer service. Glad he was at the register. I go to Petco often for multiple pets. I'll go back more now.
