I brought my Pomeranian for a cut, I had requested a teddy cut, wanted to make his face round. I did not want him shaved. But instead, Rachel shaved my dog’s head, and didn’t even cut his body and ears evenly. If you have a Pomeranian, do not book an appointment with Rachel!!! She don’t know how to do a cut for a Pomeranian dog. I’m very very disappointed, and I don’t recommend this place. My dog before and after 😭😭😭

Petco Introduce

For local residents in Brooklawn, New Jersey, searching under the category "Pet Store Near Me," the Petco located at 700 Crescent Blvd has received recent customer feedback that presents a mixed view of the services and overall shopping experience. While Petco is a national chain known for providing a wide range of pet supplies and services, these specific reviews highlight potential concerns regarding their grooming services and customer service interactions at this particular location. Potential customers should be aware of these experiences when considering this store for their pet care needs.

One customer's review focuses entirely on a negative experience with the grooming services: "I brought my Pomeranian for a cut, I had requested a teddy cut, wanted to make his face round. My dog before and after 😭😭😭" This detailed account expresses significant dissatisfaction with the grooming service provided by an individual named Rachel. The customer specifically requested a "teddy cut" for their Pomeranian, emphasizing a round face and explicitly stating that they did not want the dog shaved. Contrary to these instructions, the groomer allegedly shaved the dog's head and performed an uneven trim on the body and ears. The reviewer's strong language ("do not book an appointment with Rachel!!! She don’t know how to do a cut for a Pomeranian dog") serves as a direct warning to other Pomeranian owners. The extreme disappointment and the inclusion of crying emojis further underscore the negative impact of this grooming experience on both the pet and the owner. This review raises serious concerns about the expertise of at least one groomer at this location, particularly in handling specific breed-related grooming requests.

Another customer, a frequent shopper at this Petco location, recounts an uncomfortable experience related to customer service while shopping: "I'm a frequent shopper at this location, I spend a good amount money here, I know exactly what I want & I usually buy the same food for my cats. On February 14th approximately around 1:30pm, I stopped in to grab my cats some food real quick before heading to work for the evening. As I approached the cat section, the employee (not sure if she may have been a supervisor) asked me if 'I needed help with anything?' I said ' No, Thank you!' & I proceeded to shop. As I'm picking out my cat food, I noticed her watching me. I pay it no mind. I went to the next isle to grab some more food & this woman is literally standing there, yet again 'watching me'. So I grabbed what I needed and proceeded to go pay for my things... I've never had a problem shopping here before but that experience was very uncomfortable. She didn't even attempt to look busy, just stood there fixated on me. I really hope that she doesn't do this to other people that look like myself." This detailed narrative describes an unsettling encounter with a store employee. Despite being a regular customer who knows what they want, the shopper felt they were being watched intently and unnecessarily by an employee, who even followed them to another aisle without any apparent reason. The customer explicitly states that this experience was "very uncomfortable" and notes that the employee was not engaged in any other tasks, simply "fixated" on them. The concluding remark expresses concern that this behavior might be directed towards others who share a similar appearance, raising potential issues of profiling or perceived bias. This review highlights a significant lapse in customer service that created a negative and uncomfortable shopping experience for a loyal customer.

Based on these reviews, the environment of the Petco in Brooklawn, NJ, may be perceived differently depending on the service being utilized. For grooming services, as indicated by the first review, there is a risk of dissatisfaction if specific breed grooming expertise is lacking. The general shopping environment, as described by the second reviewer, can potentially be uncomfortable due to perceived over-surveillance by staff members. This suggests that while the store likely offers a standard retail layout for pet supplies, the interactions with staff, both in grooming and general shopping, may not always be positive.

The services offered at this Petco location include the retail sale of a wide range of pet supplies for various animals. Additionally, they offer pet grooming services, as evidenced by the negative review regarding a Pomeranian haircut. The grooming services likely include haircuts, bathing, and other breed-specific grooming needs. The second review implies that standard customer service is also part of their offerings, although the interaction described was negative. It is reasonable to assume that this Petco also offers other common services found at Petco locations, such as pet adoption events, veterinary clinics (though not mentioned in the reviews), and possibly self-service dog washes (also not mentioned).

The key features of this Petco include its location in Brooklawn, NJ, providing a local option for pet supplies and services. The availability of grooming services is a feature, although the negative review suggests potential inconsistencies in quality depending on the groomer. The fact that the second reviewer is a frequent shopper indicates that the store does cater to the regular needs of pet owners in the area, despite the uncomfortable experience they recounted. However, the negative experiences highlighted in both reviews raise concerns about the consistency and quality of both the grooming services and the customer service provided at this specific location.

As a national chain, Petco typically has various promotional offers, loyalty programs (such as Petco Pals Rewards), and seasonal sales events throughout the year. Local residents in Brooklawn interested in learning about current promotions, upcoming events, or the specific range of products and services offered at the 700 Crescent Blvd location are encouraged to visit the store directly or check the Petco website or app for local deals and information. They may also have in-store flyers or signage detailing current promotions. However, in light of the negative grooming review, it would be advisable for pet owners seeking grooming services, especially for specific breeds like Pomeranians, to inquire specifically about the groomer's experience and expertise before booking an appointment.

In conclusion, for local residents in Brooklawn, New Jersey, searching for a "Pet Store Near Me," the Petco located at 700 Crescent Blvd offers pet supplies and grooming services. However, recent customer reviews indicate potential issues with both these areas. One customer experienced a severely unsatisfactory grooming outcome for their Pomeranian, leading to a strong recommendation against using a specific groomer. Another frequent shopper reported an uncomfortable and unsettling experience with a staff member's behavior while shopping. These negative experiences suggest that while this Petco location may offer the standard range of products and services associated with the chain, potential customers should be aware of these reported issues with grooming quality and customer service. It may be prudent to seek additional feedback or exercise caution when utilizing these services at this particular store.

I like Petco. They seem to have more quality pet food than some of the other big pet store chains. I've not seen any of their small animals in distress, their cages are always tidy and they don't stink. Zeus, my twoodle, is allergic to chicken and turkey. Do you know how the hell hard it is to find dog food and treats for a picky doodle that has NO chicken or turkey?! Just in case you've missed my point, it's difficult and time consuming. At Petco I have actual choices. They also have a self bathe area with a harnessed tub so you can clean your own pet safely. One star docked for the prices. They have good budget friendly choices, but mostly it's a bit pricey. Worth it though not to see my dog trying to gnaw his own feet off (itchy and corn chip smelling feet can be indicative of an allergy) or refusing to eat. For your enjoyment, I have attached a picture of Zeus on his first snow day and 2 of my sweet boy desperately trying to make friends with the cat.

This is the first time I’ve ever been to a groomer, as I usually take care of my own dogs. But I recently rescued a husky who needed a groomer, as they have the experience and the tools needed. Gabbie was very professional, took good care of my dog, and made him look beautiful! Close up of his belly and face with bandana is after grooming. I highly recommend Gabbie D and Petco!
