Where do I start, I bought a turtle about 1 week ago. This turtle is adorable but we were given things he doesn’t use and when we took a picture of him to another pet store a woman in there was able to recognize a calcium deficiency in our baby turtle. With issues like that if it were to get any more complicated the turtle would have a life span of roughly 5 years. Will not be returning for good.

Oberst Pet Paradise Introduce

Welcome to Oberst Pet Paradise, a Pet Store Near Me located at 1703 5th Ave EXT, Ford City, PA 16226, USA. As a local establishment within the Pet Store Near Me category, Oberst Pet Paradise offers a variety of pets and pet-related supplies. They can be contacted at (724) 763-7929 or their mobile number, +1 724-763-7929.

Based on the limited information available from customer reviews, descriptions of the environment at Oberst Pet Paradise are concerning. One reviewer explicitly stated that the store is "caked in dust, dirt, and dander," adding that this was visible upon entering the premises. This observation suggests that the store's cleanliness may be an issue for some customers. This is an important aspect to consider for local users who prioritize a clean and healthy environment when purchasing pets and supplies.

The services offered at Oberst Pet Paradise include the sale of various pets, such as turtles and budgies, as indicated in the customer reviews. Additionally, it can be inferred that the store sells pet supplies, as one customer mentioned being "given things" for a turtle that were later identified as unsuitable. However, the quality of advice and the appropriateness of the products provided have been called into question. One reviewer reported receiving incorrect information about their turtle's needs, which led to the discovery of a potential calcium deficiency by another pet store. This suggests that the expertise and guidance offered regarding pet care may vary.

Features of Oberst Pet Paradise, as perceived through customer experiences, present a mixed picture. On one hand, the availability of a variety of pets, including turtles and budgies, could be seen as a feature for local residents seeking these specific animals. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the health and well-being of the animals sold. One customer purchased a budgie that died within 72 hours of purchase and was described as "sick" at the time of sale, potentially explaining its unusually "relaxed and friendly" demeanor for its reported age. This raises serious questions about the health screening and care provided to the animals before sale.

Another concerning feature highlighted in the reviews is the customer service experience, particularly when issues arise. The customer who purchased the deceased budgie reported a negative interaction with the store owner. Instead of addressing the potential health issues of the bird in the store, the owner allegedly blamed the customer's home environment for the bird's death, despite the reviewer's description of the store's uncleanliness. This response suggests a lack of accountability and a dismissive approach to customer concerns regarding the health of purchased animals. The reviewer also mentioned purchasing three other budgies from the store in the past, with one dying due to a "nutritional issue" and two flying away due to an open door, indicating potential issues with animal care and store management over time.

Currently, there is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Oberst Pet Paradise. Therefore, it is not possible to provide any details about potential discounts or promotions that the store might be running. Local users would need to inquire directly with the store to obtain such information.

In conclusion, Oberst Pet Paradise in Ford City, PA, is a pet store that offers a variety of pets, including turtles and budgies, and presumably sells pet supplies. However, potential local users should be aware of the significant concerns raised in customer reviews regarding the store's cleanliness, the health of the animals sold, the accuracy of pet care advice, and the quality of customer service when issues occur. The negative experiences reported, including the sale of a sick animal that died shortly after purchase and a dismissive response from the owner regarding these concerns, warrant careful consideration. Given the absence of any positive feedback or information about promotional offers, local users are advised to exercise caution and potentially seek further information or consider alternative pet stores in the area before making a purchase from Oberst Pet Paradise.

I wasn't going to leave a review but after the conversation I had with owner, I feel I need to. I purchased a budgie from this store on Saturday. I was told he was 5 months old, and a male. I found it odd how relaxed and friendly he was; especially for his age I'd been told. Ive purchased three other budgies from this store in the past. One died due to a nutritional issue and the other two flew away because a door had been left open. Those birds were kept in the same conditions as this one I just bought Saturday. The bird I bought Saturday died last night. 72 hours after I purchased him. He was sick, which would explain why he was so "chill". Given that the other birds had no issues I just wanted to inform the store owner to keep an eye on the other budgie in the cage with the one I bought. She blamed me, said the air quality in my house probably killed the bird. Except her store is caked in dust, dirt, and dander. you can literally see it when you enter the store. But it was My house that killed this bird? In the picture i provide, you can see the bird is fluffed up. The picture was taken less than 24 hours after I bought the bird. So my apparently moldy, smokey, dirty house made this bird sick in under 24 hours, when the other birds I bought, living in the same conditions, had no problems. Okay.

I got a turtle from this pet store. He didn’t seem to be doing well and since he had no ramp in his 5 gallon tank and only water I assumed this turtle wasn’t being taken care of properly. I went to multiple pet stores to ask what kind of turtle it actually was and turns out it might be an eastern box turtle. They need a ramp to bask… oh and it had a calcium deficiency on its shell and possibly a fungal infection. Wouldn’t recommend!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and readily answering any questions you may have. The store contains most everything one would need for their pets. They have an extensive aquarium layout with plenty of cold water and tropical fish. I've purchased fish there on a few occasions, having better luck with the quality more recently. I definitely will keep coming back. The drawback includes operating hours. There have been a few occasions the owner/workers have not shown at the advertised opening times. I wonder why small business pet stores are always crammed with supplies, too. It's not a deal breaker, but it's definitely an inconvenience. Overall, I recommend this business. Pet shops smell like pet shops. Why would that surprise people?

Love the atmosphere in this little store and the employees really do their best to make sure each and every customer gets taken care of not just on a business level but also on a personal level. The woman who always assists me seems to always remember all of the details about my pet, worries that I had abouther diet or environment, her temperament, ect. And shes never even seen my pet and did not sell her to me. She genuinely cares about her work and I love that about her and this store!! I dont travel to any other pet store for anything
