First time ever going there and absolutely my last! The urine smell from all the rats and cages was so bad my daughter had a full blown asthma attack when we got to the car (10 mins at most we were in there) ! It literally stole my breath away. All the birds and Pigeons where in layers and layers of bird poop and rusted old cages. The only thing I walked out with was neon tetras fish. Within 24 hours they're dead and one has ich so bad I don't think I can save it. There was so many cages on the floor with rats and hamsters getting a proper view of the fish was actually limited and I blame my self for not even looking more carefully. I decided to call them just to let them now, I wasn't actually wanting money back or anything like that but she started telling me it's my own fault and they would never sell sick fish and it's my tank not there's, I have a full planted tank with only 2 bottum feeders that ive had for 2 years, not sick. Lol. It got to the point where the old lady on the phone and the other in the background were actually screaming at me and I was being very nice about it considering I gave them 20$ for a few sick fish, they got what they wanted. I feel sorry for every animal in that store and definitely notifying the health dept. This buisness is trash please don't buy here. If you have asthma please don't go here, my daughter has been wheezing since we left and now I'm calling her doctors. If I would have known we would have never even stopped her for health reasons! Shame on this business and shame on the women who accused me of getting my own fish sick and not actually taking any accountability for your filthy store!

Morrison's Pets Introduce

Welcome to Canal Fulton and the surrounding areas! When searching for a "Pet Store Near Me," local options provide unique offerings and experiences for pet owners. Morrison's Pets, located at 2004 Locust St, Canal Fulton, OH 44614, USA, is one such establishment. They can be contacted at (330) 854-4164 or via mobile at +1 330-854-4164. As a local pet store, Morrison's Pets aims to serve the community by providing a variety of animals and pet-related supplies.

Based on recent customer reviews, the environment of Morrison's Pets appears to have mixed feedback. One customer reported a strong urine odor, particularly associated with the rat and other small animal cages, which they claimed triggered an asthma attack in their daughter. This reviewer also described the bird cages as having layers of bird droppings and rust. These observations suggest potential concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the animal enclosures within the store. This is a critical aspect of any pet store, as the living conditions of the animals directly impact their health and well-being, as well as the overall shopping experience for customers.

In contrast, another customer described Morrison's Pets as a "perfect example of what a pet store should be." This reviewer highlighted the "exceptional service" and noted that the staff is "very friendly and knowledgeable." This positive feedback suggests that some customers have had very satisfactory experiences with the store's staff and the overall service provided. The discrepancy in these reviews indicates a potential inconsistency in the store's environment or customer service, or perhaps differing sensitivities and expectations among customers.

The services and goods offered at Morrison's Pets include the sale of various animals and pet supplies. According to one positive review, they have "a wide variety of fish, birds, reptiles even some hedgehogs as well as pet supplies." This suggests that Morrison's Pets caters to owners of different types of pets, offering a diverse selection of animals for purchase. The mention of "pet supplies" indicates that customers can also find essential items such as food, cages, tanks, and accessories for their animals. However, the negative review mentioned purchasing neon tetra fish that died within 24 hours, with one showing signs of ich, a parasitic infection. This raises concerns about the health of the animals being sold and the store's quarantine and care protocols for their livestock.

Features of Morrison's Pets, based on the customer feedback, include a knowledgeable and friendly staff, at least according to one reviewer. This suggests that customers can receive advice and assistance from the employees regarding the care of their pets and the selection of appropriate supplies. The positive reviewer also appreciated the "more personable experience" compared to big chain stores, suggesting a focus on customer interaction and potentially more specialized knowledge. However, the negative review recounted a very different experience with the staff during a complaint call, alleging that the staff was accusatory and unhelpful, even reportedly screaming at the customer. This stark contrast highlights a potential issue with customer service consistency.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. Local pet stores often promote themselves through word-of-mouth, community involvement, and potentially in-store specials. Morrison's Pets, being a local establishment, might rely on these methods to attract customers. They could potentially promote their wide variety of animals, the knowledge of their staff (as perceived by some), or any unique or hard-to-find pet supplies they might stock. However, in light of the negative review concerning animal health and customer service, any promotional efforts would need to address these concerns to build and maintain customer trust.

In conclusion, Morrison's Pets in Canal Fulton, OH, is a local pet store offering a variety of animals, including fish, birds, reptiles, and hedgehogs, as well as pet supplies. Customer experiences appear to be varied. One customer praised the exceptional service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and wide selection. However, another customer reported significant issues with the store's environment, citing strong odors and unclean animal enclosures, as well as purchasing sick fish and experiencing extremely negative customer service when raising concerns. These conflicting accounts suggest that potential customers should be aware of these differing experiences. While some may find the store to offer a personable experience with a good selection, others have raised serious concerns about animal welfare and customer service. Without further information or more consistent reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of Morrison's Pets. Local users are encouraged to consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to visit this pet store.

My family has deep roots in Canal Fulton, having been born and raised here. For decades, we have trusted Morrison’s Pets as our go-to place for bringing home new pets. My mother and aunt have fond memories of getting bunnies from Morrison’s, and during my own childhood, I got guinea pigs and fish from there. Even my hedgehog, though exotic and not sold directly at Morrison’s, was part of this tradition. Most recently, I adopted a pet rat from Morrison’s, and she is the sweetest little girl. Over the years, I’ve consistently found that the animals from Morrison’s Pets are healthy, well-cared-for, and live long, happy lives. In contrast, I’ve had pets from larger chains like PetSmart, and I’ve noticed a significant difference in their health and temperament. Morrison’s Pets will always be my first choice for adopting animals, and I’m grateful for the care and quality they’ve provided to my family for generations.

If you want a healthy small animal, look no further. This is the place to go. They are a family owned pet store that takes excellent care of the animals while in their possession. They aren't like the big box pet stores. They actually care about their animal's health and well being. So if you're looking for a small animal, whether it be a bird, guinea pig, rat, mouse, hamster, fish, hedgehog or lizard this is the place to check out first to see if they have what you're looking for or can possibly get for you. They are super knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend you check them out first

Where do I even begin…..it takes a lot for me to write a bad review unless I have a horrible experience and well this was it. You walk in, and you’re immediately hit with the worst smell. The bearded dragon up front has overgrown nails, the wrong substrate and nothing to even do…next the leopard geckos. This is what made me upset they were all in small tanks together where they absolutely should not be ever housed together under no circumstances and they had the wrong substrate. The mice were crammed together in tiny tanks. The birds were in tiny cages and a lot of the fish looked rough. If you care about animals and want proper care for them I do not recommend this pet store what so ever. I honestly don’t know how it’s even open…..
