My absolute favorite exotic pet shop! Workers are always helpful and answer any questions you have. I come here so often because they got the best selection of invertebrates, arachnids, reptiles, etc!

This was a well needed independent aquarium. The tanks were clean and maintained very well. The verity of fish was great. I wanted to take home the xxL Sailfin Mollies, they were beautiful. The staff is top notch. They know their stuff. They also have a very good verity of filters, heaters, lights, and anything else you would need.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. The inventory of fish and reptiles is incredible and so well kept. I drive 30 min at least once a week to see what’s new! Scott and the rest of the staff listen to my 6 million questions so patiently. The owner Alan is unbelievably knowledgeable and it’s so clear that he truly loves what he does- they all do. The great prices aren’t even the best part of supporting this local NJ business. I wish I could give even more stars.

Everyone is so knowledgeable. This is the pet store you drive an hour to get to. They have the best selection of reptiles in New Jersey. All animals are healthy and clean. The moment you walk in there are no bad smells. Unlike many other pet shops in the area. The fish tanks look and smell clean. As well as the reptile and small mammel cages. Everyone working there is always doing something. They really care about their animals.

I am genuinely shocked that this establishment is still in business given the appalling conditions I witnessed during my visit. From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with an overwhelming odor that sets the tone for the disheartening scene ahead. I want to focus on one particular animal that deeply concerned me: a bunny housed on the bottom shelf at the back of the store. This adorable rabbit was clearly neglected, with fur visibly matted and tangled around its bottom teeth, which would undoubtedly make eating difficult, if not impossible. When we pointed this out to the employees, they seemed indifferent and told us they would address it after closing because they didn’t want to stress the rabbit. However, the rabbit’s living conditions were already stressful and inhumane. There was no water in its cage, and when we insisted, they eventually provided some—using a filthy, bacteria-ridden water bottle. The rabbit drank nonstop for at least 20 minutes, which made it painfully clear how dehydrated it was. Its cage was also filled with old excrement, there was barely any hay, and its food supply was practically nonexistent. Additionally, the rabbit appeared to have an untreated eye infection, with visible buildup in one corner of its eye. My friend and I debated taking the rabbit home, but we were unfortunately not in a position to care for it. It broke our hearts to leave it there, knowing it would continue to suffer. I can’t speak to the conditions of the reptiles, as I’m not an expert, but the frogs were housed in tiny plastic containers with barely any water—something that struck me as entirely inadequate for their needs. As someone who has grown up with animals and worked in the veterinary industry, I can confidently say these conditions are unacceptable. Any establishment that sells animals has a responsibility to care for them properly, and this place is failing miserably. I urge anyone who loves and respects animals to avoid supporting this business. If you care about animal welfare, please consider reporting what you see to the appropriate authorities. These creatures deserve so much better than the neglect they are experiencing here I want to emphasize that I rarely write negative reviews and strongly believe in supporting small businesses whenever I can. I understand the challenges they face and make an effort to shop local and give them the benefit of the doubt. However, in this case, the level of neglect and disregard for the welfare of the animals made it impossible to stay silent. This is an exception I feel compelled to make because no business, small or large, should treat animals this way. I'm expecting an unaccountable comment back from the owners as I've read the other reviews and that's the only consistent thing I've seen from them aside from their neglect of the animals shame on you. Shame on everything you do. Do not sell animals if you cannot properly care for them.
