Jan's Tropical Fish

Been going here for years. Never had a problem till the other day. Me and my fiance purchased 12 fish, 5 shrimp, a couple of driftwood pieces, and plants. Spent $220 for everything. Had our tank all set up for 2 days fully filtered at home . Everything was fine til the next morning. Every single fish was dead. Never have we had that many fish die on us. We called and they told us to bring a sample of the tank water, we did and nothing was wrong with it. As ne and my fiance were trying to discuss with the main guy our situation and what could we do to move forward he kept cutting us off not wanting to hear anything that wasn't from his own mouth. Told us he lost 5 fish of his own fish as well because he rushed and put the fish in the tank too early (he seen it as his mistake was our same mistake, when it wasn't). When trying to tell him we had this tank filtered for 2 days he just wouldn't listen. He refused our refund and he refused to replace the fish. He was only willing to give us a discount on our next purchase. Even petsmart has a refund policy for fish. This place is very unprofessional and ripped us off $180 dollars worth of fish. Very unhappy with how they treat their loyal costumers.

Jan's is a nice local fish store. Would love more variety for fresh water options. Staff is very helpful.

Been coming here for years for all my aquarium needs. They have great variety and can also have some unique/rare fish most of the time. They are professional and most importantly knowledgeable. Will keep coming here. I atleast visit once a week.

The fish place to go! The plants don’t have snails (unlike other places I’ve been locally…), they have knowledgeable good advice on what fish to get and how to care for them. Also so convenient to just buy a jug and get 5gallons of clean water for my fish!

Im so happy i found this shop. They have so many unique bettas & diversity of fish ! I found their customer service better than petco and petsmart. I bought this betta today. I love the colors, health and how happy the fish is. Maintainace is on point. If you love fish check this place out !!
