We got our yorkie last year from Chews A Puppy. We had a great overall experience from a very caring staff. Yes, she was a bit pricey, but I am so happy with the purchase. She is such a loving and fun dog. I need to go back and get her a friend eventually !!!!!

Chews A Puppy Introduce
For local residents in Ocoee, Florida, searching under the category "Pet Store Near Me" specifically for a place to purchase puppies, Chews A Puppy, located at 11167 W Colonial Dr, offers a point of consideration with distinctly contrasting customer experiences. While one reviewer praises the caring staff and expresses satisfaction with their puppy despite a higher price point, another customer recounts what they perceive as misleading online pricing and unethical sales tactics, leading to a firm decision not to make future purchases from this establishment. Potential customers should carefully weigh these differing perspectives.
One customer shares a positive experience from a previous purchase: "We got our yorkie last year from Chews A Puppy. We had a great overall experience from a very caring staff. Yes, she was a bit pricey, but I am so happy with the purchase. She is such a loving and fun dog. I need to go back and get her a friend eventually !!!!!" This review highlights a positive interaction with the staff, describing them as "very caring." The customer's satisfaction with their Yorkie puppy, noting that she is "such a loving and fun dog," suggests that Chews A Puppy offers healthy and well-tempered puppies. The acknowledgment that the puppy was "a bit pricey" indicates that the cost of purchasing a puppy from this store might be higher compared to other sources. However, the overall positive experience and the customer's intention to return for another puppy in the future speak to a level of satisfaction with the purchase process and the quality of the animal.
In stark contrast, another customer recounts a significantly negative experience centered around pricing and sales tactics: "So my husband and I went to Chews a puppy for what we thought would be a couple hundred (had one price on one puppy online under $1000) but of course, 'that one had already been sold' they started the pricing for the puppy we did get (because we went for a specific breed) at $6,000! Are you kidding me? That ofc didn't happen, we left with the same puppy under $3,000.... I feel the lady was trying to swindle us! I mean I understand marking up an animal, but $6000?! Seems unethical to me! And, looking on their page again, the same exact breed puppy I went for, is posted online for $400! Don't get me wrong, we LOVE our puppy, but we wouldn't EVER purchase another puppy from them due to their sales tactics alone.....first our puppy online photo, then our puppy after being home with us for about a month! :-)" This detailed account raises serious concerns. The customer alleges a bait-and-switch tactic, where a puppy advertised online at an attractive price (under $1000) was claimed to be sold upon their arrival. Subsequently, the initial price quoted for the specific breed they were interested in was an exorbitant $6000. While they managed to negotiate the price down to under $3000 for the same puppy, the customer felt they were being "swindled" and considered the initial pricing "unethical." The fact that the same breed of puppy was later seen advertised online for a much lower price ($400) further fuels their negative perception of the store's sales practices. Despite expressing love for the puppy they eventually purchased, this customer explicitly states they would "NEVER purchase another puppy from them due to their sales tactics alone," indicating a deeply negative experience with the buying process.
Considering these two reviews, the environment of Chews A Puppy in Ocoee, FL, is difficult to definitively characterize. One review suggests a caring atmosphere with staff who are attentive to customers. However, the other review paints a picture where sales tactics might be aggressive and potentially misleading, creating a sense of distrust for some customers. The physical environment of the store itself is not described in either review.
The primary service offered by Chews A Puppy is the sale of puppies, as indicated by its name and the content of the reviews. The first reviewer purchased a Yorkie, and the second was interested in a specific breed available at the store. The staff is mentioned as being caring and helpful in one instance, while in another, a "lady" (presumably a sales representative) is accused of employing questionable sales tactics. It is unclear if the store offers additional services such as grooming or boarding, as the reviews focus solely on the puppy purchasing experience.
The features of Chews A Puppy include the availability of specific breeds of puppies, such as Yorkies and others advertised online. One potential feature is a caring staff, as mentioned in one review. However, a significant concern raised by another review is the store's sales tactics, including potentially misleading online pricing and aggressive initial price quotes, which could be considered a negative feature for some customers. The price of puppies appears to be a notable aspect, with one customer finding their Yorkie "a bit pricey" and another detailing a significant price negotiation.
Neither of the provided reviews mentions any specific promotional offers or special programs at Chews A Puppy. Puppy stores may occasionally have financing options or offer packages that include initial veterinary care or supplies. Local residents in Ocoee interested in learning about the current availability of puppies, their prices, or any special offers are encouraged to contact the store directly at (407) 439-0440 or visit their location at 11167 W Colonial Dr. They may also have a website or social media presence where they list available puppies and any promotions.
In conclusion, for local residents in Ocoee, Florida, searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" to purchase a puppy, Chews A Puppy presents a mixed reputation based on the limited online reviews. While one customer reports a positive experience with a caring staff and satisfaction with their puppy, another details serious concerns about misleading online pricing and potentially unethical sales tactics. Potential customers should be aware of these conflicting accounts. It would be prudent to inquire about the availability and actual price of specific puppies advertised online before visiting and to be prepared for potential negotiation. While Chews A Puppy may offer healthy and beloved puppies, the reported sales practices warrant careful consideration from prospective buyers.

Feb 20, 2025 · Starr WisemanSTAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I want to share my 40 min experience inside of this place. I took my wife and son inside to begin our quest of puppy searching. Everything was cool as I tried to get a price on a pup that I thought suited our needs. They will not be able to give you one. That's just the way they do business inside this place. The real problem I had was with the lady boss of this place as she attempted to yell at me and my family (as I assume she does to her animals) because my 5 yr old was making a squeeking noise with his shoe. The lady boss came at us, guns blazing as we had the pup in our hands. BOTTOM LINE She sucks, this place sucks, they're are people that do much better work that are professional breeders and are willing to give you a good deal. This place will suck you out of thousands of dollars. SAVE SAVE SAVE and don't buy any of their psychological bait.
Mar 27, 2025 · Rocky EstradaI recently buy a dog, and I am beyond thrilled with the entire experience! From the moment I stepped into the store , I was welcomed by warm staff who truly care about the dogs. They took the time to guide me through the process , answering all my questions and ensuring I felt confident in my decision. The store was clean and organized. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about each dog’s personality, history, and needs, which helped me choose the perfect match for my family. They didn’t rush me into anything – they really listened to my preferences and made sure I was well-prepared for dog ownership. When I met my dog for the first time, it was an instant connection. The staff made sure we spent some quality time together, and I could tell they were genuinely happy to see us bonding. The buying process was smooth, with all the necessary paperwork handled efficiently, and they provided me with plenty of helpful resources about dog care and training. I’m so grateful for this wonderful experience. If you’re considering buying your best companion , I highly recommend this place. They made the process seamless, and now I have a beautiful new companion who has already become a beloved part of our family!
Mar 23, 2025 · Luis SantosSo happy with a little boy. The process took some time, we spend lots of time hanging out with the puppy, looking at all of them, then they made sure to go over all that's included or no, warranties and other conditions, after we reviewed all the puppy, breeder, they explained with detail all about puppy from his background to even the method of transportation and cost. After we decided to take the puppy we were explained how to take care of him in detail, reviewed all the paperwork and it was ours. They do not take lightly the process and make sure the pup goes to a good home
