I really liked them first visit and wanted to keep liking them but I got one good Dr, after that no one else told me the same information regarding my pet. I was told I could call and get his script refilled but when I did they talked me into bringing him in, I said ok and they charged me $150.00 for bringing him in and another $53.00 for the medication which I was later able to get elsewhere at a much lower price. I told them after the $8,000 surgery he had I couldn't afford another outrageous expense like that just for coming in but they still shocked me on the way out the door. No consideration whatsoever....

Welcome to Your Hometown Vet

Your Hometown Vet, located at 31 Water St #1, Cuba, NY 14727, USA, operates as a local "Pet Hospital" serving the community with veterinary care for beloved companion animals. As a pet hospital, it provides a range of services and goods essential for maintaining the health and well-being of household pets. This establishment aims to be a convenient and reliable resource for pet owners in Cuba, New York, and the surrounding areas, offering professional medical attention to ensure pets lead healthy and happy lives.

The environment at Your Hometown Vet, like most pet hospitals, is designed to be a welcoming and functional space for both pets and their owners. While specific details about the interior design or specific amenities are not provided in the reviews, a typical veterinary clinic environment would include a reception area for check-ins, examination rooms for consultations and initial assessments, and potentially areas for diagnostics, surgery, and hospitalization. The atmosphere is generally expected to be clean, organized, and equipped to handle various medical needs. The physical space is crucial for providing efficient and effective care, allowing veterinarians and staff to perform examinations, administer treatments, and conduct procedures comfortably and safely. The term "Hometown" in the name suggests a friendly, community-oriented approach, aiming to make clients feel comfortable and familiar with their local vet.

Your Hometown Vet offers a variety of services typical of a full-service pet hospital. While a comprehensive list is not available, based on the nature of a pet hospital and the provided customer feedback, one can infer several key service areas. These would undoubtedly include routine wellness and preventative care, such as annual check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control (deworming, flea, and tick prevention), and nutritional counseling. Diagnostic services are also a staple, likely encompassing in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasonography. Surgical procedures, both routine (like spaying and neutering) and potentially more complex ones, are often performed at pet hospitals, as hinted by a customer's mention of an "$8,000 surgery." Dental care, including cleanings and extractions, is another common offering. Emergency and urgent care services would also be a crucial component, providing immediate attention for unexpected illnesses or injuries. The provision of medication, as noted in a review, confirms that they dispense pharmaceuticals, either from an in-house pharmacy or by providing prescriptions. The overall goal of these services is to provide comprehensive care for pets, addressing both preventative and curative needs.

Several features can be extrapolated for Your Hometown Vet, based on the customer reviews. One notable feature is the presence of multiple veterinarians and staff, as indicated by the review stating, "I got one good Dr, after that no one else told me the same information regarding my pet." This suggests a team-based approach to care, which can be beneficial for continuity of care and diverse medical opinions. Another strong feature, highlighted by a positive review, is the "Best veterinarians and staff in the area. So lucky they settled here and the whole staff knows their stuff and animals love them to pieces!" This speaks to a highly knowledgeable and compassionate team that excels in patient interaction and builds strong bonds with animals. The staff's ability to connect with animals and earn their trust is a significant asset, contributing to a less stressful veterinary experience for pets. The "Hometown" aspect implies a focus on local community ties and building lasting relationships with pet owners, aiming to be a trusted part of their lives.

However, one review points to a concerning feature related to communication and billing practices. The client experienced inconsistency in information provided by different doctors regarding their pet's care and medication refills. Furthermore, they felt pressured into an unnecessary visit for a prescription refill, resulting in unexpected charges for both the visit and the medication, with the medication later found cheaper elsewhere. This suggests a potential area for improvement in internal communication among staff to ensure consistent advice, and in transparent billing practices, particularly concerning follow-up visits and prescription costs. While one review may not represent the entire experience of all clients, it highlights the importance of clear communication regarding services and associated costs, especially after significant medical procedures. The "No consideration whatsoever" comment regarding billing after a large surgery indicates a need for empathetic financial discussions with clients. On the positive side, the clinic's ability to perform an "$8,000 surgery" suggests they are equipped for complex medical interventions, a significant feature for a local pet hospital.

Regarding promotional information, no specific promotions or special offers were detailed in the provided text. Pet hospitals often run various promotions to attract new clients or encourage specific preventative care services. These might include discounted first-time visit fees, puppy or kitten wellness packages, senior pet wellness plans, or seasonal promotions for vaccinations or dental cleanings. Some clinics might offer loyalty programs or referral discounts. Given the mentioned customer experience with billing, it would be prudent for new or existing clients to proactively inquire about the pricing structure for various services, especially regarding follow-up visits and prescription refills. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on services, pricing, and any current promotional offers, it is highly recommended that local users contact Your Hometown Vet directly. Their phone number is (585) 209-4008, and their mobile phone number is +1 585-209-4008. Direct communication will allow clients to discuss their pet's needs, clarify any concerns about costs, and potentially learn about ways to manage veterinary expenses effectively, ensuring that they receive the best possible care for their pets without unexpected financial burdens.

Best vet around!!!*🙂👍😺😸😽❤*She is very nice, gentle, and professional with your pets and you!* She has treated many of my cats and has put a few to sleep for me.* I wouldn't go to anyone else to put my cats to sleep because she is very sensitive to how you feel when you go through that difficult time and decision. She gives them a sedative first so you can say goodbye to them and they can say goodbye to you. Then she administers the euthanasia shot. My cats passed away slowly and peacefully and not in pain by her procedure. I really appreciated.that.* I really think she is the best vet in the area. I highly recommend her!*

Dr Mount and the entire staff are amazing! They stayed after hours to perform an emergency surgery on my girl and literally saved her life. Dr. Mount was very up front and honest and never once gave me false hope that everything was going to be OK. They have such a clean and beautiful building. They were attentive to my concerns and so caring! Hands down best vet and team around!

I have been going to Dr. Mount for years. She’s truly wonderful with all my animals. Answers questions so you can understand them. Will listen and not rush you out of the office. Dr. Mount is great with the fur parents as well. The staff are great. Michelle, Andrea, MJ, to name a few are always friendly and compassionate. The office is so nice. I wouldn’t want my animals seeing anyone else. We love Dr. Mount!
