I finally found a wonderful place to take my shihpoo. Dr. Meg was the only vet clinic that would see my baby when she was ill back in December. All the other local vets refused to take new patients or stated their schedule was already full. Dr. Meg was informative, patient, and kind. She listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. I scheduled my pup for a spay 3x at our old vet only for it to be canceled the same day. I scheduled my baby for spay with Dr. Meg asap since labs were already done. She advised me if I waited 3 months to have Stella spayed, she would need more labs and it would be more expensive. My pup was spayed yesterday and the entire team was wonderful. They called me today for an update and offered suggestions on getting my baby to eat. I trust these people!! 10 out of 10 reccomend

The environment at Wright Veterinary Services is consistently described as "very friendly & clean," contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both pets and their owners. The philosophy of care is deeply rooted in compassion, patience, and attentiveness, as evidenced by Dr. Meg's interactions. Clients appreciate that the veterinary team truly listens to concerns and provides thorough answers to all questions, fostering a sense of trust and transparency. This patient-centered approach is crucial in veterinary medicine, where effective communication and empathy can significantly reduce stress for both the animal and the human companion. The clinic's willingness to accept new patients, even when other local vets are turning them away due to full schedules or policies, speaks volumes about their commitment to providing accessible care to the community. This open and accommodating stance highlights a practice that prioritizes the needs of the animals and their owners, especially during times of illness or urgency.

Services Offered

As a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," Wright Veterinary Services provides a wide array of veterinary services to ensure the health and well-being of companion animals. While a complete, exhaustive list isn't provided, based on the reviews and typical offerings of such a facility, their services likely include:

  • General Veterinary Care: This encompasses routine wellness exams, vaccinations tailored to the pet's needs, and preventive care programs to maintain long-term health.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: The clinic is equipped to diagnose and treat various pet illnesses. A key feature highlighted by a customer is their willingness to see sick pets, even new patients, when other clinics are fully booked, demonstrating their commitment to urgent care. This includes thorough examinations and providing informative guidance on treatment plans and medications.
  • Surgical Procedures: Specifically mentioned is spaying, indicating the clinic performs common surgical interventions. This implies they have the necessary facilities and expertise for other routine surgeries, potentially including soft tissue surgeries. The efficient scheduling and successful completion of a spay, after previous cancellations elsewhere, further underscores their reliability in this area.
  • Laboratory Services: The mention of "labs were already done" prior to a spay suggests that they either conduct in-house lab work or efficiently manage external lab testing to ensure pets are healthy for procedures. This is critical for pre-surgical assessments and diagnosing medical conditions.
  • Post-Treatment Follow-up: A highly praised service is their proactive follow-up care. The team "called me today for an update and offered suggestions on getting my baby to eat" after surgery. This level of post-operative care and concern is a significant indicator of their dedication to patient recovery.
  • Client Education and Support: Dr. Meg and the team are noted for being "informative" and "patient," answering all questions and offering practical suggestions (e.g., for getting a pet to eat). This focus on educating and supporting pet owners empowers them to provide the best possible care at home.

Key Features and Distinctions

Wright Veterinary Services stands out in the community due to several compelling features:

  • Accessibility for New and Urgent Patients: Perhaps the most significant distinction is their willingness to accept new patients, even during busy periods or when an animal is ill, a service that other local vets reportedly refused. This demonstrates a strong commitment to community health and a flexible approach to scheduling, making them a lifeline for pet owners in need.
  • Compassionate and Patient Team: Dr. Meg and the entire team are consistently praised for their kindness, patience, and empathetic approach. This ensures a less stressful experience for pets and provides immense comfort to pet owners, particularly when dealing with sick animals or surgical procedures.
  • Reliable Surgical Scheduling and Execution: The ability to efficiently schedule and successfully perform a spay, especially after repeated cancellations elsewhere, speaks volumes about their operational efficiency and commitment to client promises.
  • Thorough Communication and Follow-up: The proactive follow-up calls and clear communication regarding pet health and post-operative care are highly valued by clients, building trust and demonstrating a genuine concern for patient recovery.
  • Trustworthy Advice: The client's statement, "I trust these people!! 10 out of 10 recommend," highlights the strong bond of trust built through informative discussions, patient listening, and consistent quality care.

Our 4-year-old Lab/Golden Retriever mix started this summer with bee bites after I hit a wasp nest and his cheek wasn't healing. I got him to see Dr. Wright and he said it was infected so they had to shave it to check it out better. Well, my calm little 95# Rusty was not going to have that. They tried to knock him out. They said it usually works within 5 minutes. Rusty wasn't having it. 20 minutes later he is still trying to hold his head up. The dr. finally said he has to be out enough so let's get started. Rusty still fought a good fight to where they switched razors to get it done faster. He was worried it wasn't the bee stings. By now Rusty is sound asleep so they took blood to see if it was something else and gave us antibiotics. Well, they called with the results of the blood test as soon as they got them. I told them I found another area on his head. He wanted me to come in right away so I did. They couldn't shave him since I cut it with scissors 1st and then used a razor blade. He didn't wine once. I made it in a circle and now he said he thought it could be ringworm so they tested for that. He doesn't like eating his dry dog food but he does like wet dog food. So now we are testing for hypothyroidism. How can that be, he is between 92 & 98 #'s. So that is what it is. Hypothyroidism! Pills for the rest of his life. This clinic has very nice people working here. I am also disabled and went on the floor by Rusty to help calm him. When they were done the female doctor asked if I could use a hand to get up. That was very nice. I would still be there otherwise. As far as billing goes, they are very reasonable unless you have a lot of blood work done. We haven't anything else done yet but he is waiting to get neutered.

Their compassion for pets and their owners is amazing. Last week we needed to put our 15 year-old dog to sleep. It was one of the hardest thing we’ve done. They treated us like family and I would recommend them to anyone.

My dog was very ill and my current vet was out of office for the week. The emergency vet in Appleton told me I couldn’t come until after 4pm and I would still probably have to wait hours to be seen. Wright Veterinary Services was able to squeeze me in same day for an urgent care visit. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and got me the answers I needed. Would recommend this vet to anyone who was looking for quality care for their pet.
