HORRIBLE PEOPLE. I have been going for 12 years with my cats. They were good at one point, now we cannot get an appointment when we need it, for my cat who is probably going to die. I have spent over $1,000 twice, on surgeries, and the multiple visits. Now it seems all they want is to do check ups, they leave 50 messages to make sure they make that easy money on check ups & shots. Now, forbid I need them in an emergency and they will not help my cat. UNACCEPTABLE, HORRIBLE PEOPLE.

Welcome to Woodstock Veterinary Clinic
Welcome to Woodstock Veterinary Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 290 CT-171, Woodstock, CT 06281, USA, serving the local community with veterinary care services. You can reach them at (860) 974-1802 or via mobile phone at +1 860-974-1802.
Woodstock Veterinary Clinic has been serving pet owners in the Woodstock area for a number of years. While specific details about the clinic's environment, such as the size and layout of the facility, are not readily available online, it is typical for a Pet Hospital to provide examination rooms, a reception area, and potentially surgical and diagnostic areas to cater to the health needs of pets.
Based on the limited information available, Woodstock Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of services expected from a general veterinary practice. These typically include routine check-ups and vaccinations, which are fundamental for maintaining the overall health and preventing diseases in pets. During these wellness visits, veterinarians conduct thorough physical examinations to assess your pet's condition and provide necessary vaccinations to protect them from various infectious agents.
In addition to preventative care, Pet Hospitals like Woodstock Veterinary Clinic usually offer diagnostic services to identify and understand the underlying causes of illnesses or health issues in pets. These services may include laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as imaging techniques like X-rays to visualize internal structures. These diagnostic tools are crucial for accurate diagnoses and the development of appropriate treatment plans.
For pets requiring medical intervention, a Pet Hospital typically provides medical treatment for a variety of conditions. This can range from managing common ailments to addressing more complex medical issues. The scope of medical services offered can vary, but generally includes the administration of medications, fluid therapy, and supportive care to help pets recover from illness or injury.
Surgical services are also a common offering at many Pet Hospitals. These can include routine surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering, as well as more specialized surgeries depending on the expertise and facilities available at the clinic. Surgical procedures are performed under anesthesia, with monitoring to ensure the safety and well-being of the animal.
Dental care is another important aspect of pet health that is often addressed by veterinary clinics. Services may include dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar buildup, dental examinations to identify potential problems, and treatment for dental diseases. Maintaining good oral hygiene is vital for a pet's overall health and comfort.
It's important to note that recent customer reviews available online for Woodstock Veterinary Clinic present some significant concerns. One reviewer, who claims to have been a client for 12 years, expresses dissatisfaction with the current service, stating difficulties in securing timely appointments for a critically ill cat. This review also suggests a perceived shift in focus towards routine check-ups and vaccinations, with less availability for urgent or emergency situations. The reviewer uses strong negative language, describing their experience as "UNACCEPTABLE" and the people as "HORRIBLE."
Another review echoes similar sentiments, stating that the clinic was "great" six years prior but has since suffered due to staffing changes. This reviewer recounts an experience where there was a delay in receiving important test results for their dog, who was diagnosed with skin cancer. They also allege that their concerns about unprofessionalism led to the clinic refusing further care for their animals. This individual now recommends another local veterinary practice, Peak Brooke, citing better care and staffing.
These recent reviews raise potential concerns regarding appointment availability, communication, and the overall level of service at Woodstock Veterinary Clinic. Individuals considering this Pet Hospital for their pet's care should be aware of these recent experiences shared by other pet owners in the community. It may be prudent to inquire specifically about appointment availability, communication protocols, and the clinic's approach to handling urgent medical needs before entrusting them with the care of their animals.
While Woodstock Veterinary Clinic is listed as a local Pet Hospital providing veterinary care services in Woodstock, CT, the recent feedback from customers suggests a decline in service quality and potential issues with appointment scheduling and communication. As with any service provider, it is advisable for potential clients to consider all available information, including recent reviews, when making decisions about their pet's healthcare.
Prospective clients may wish to contact Woodstock Veterinary Clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and to gain a better understanding of their current services, appointment policies, and how they address urgent care situations. Visiting the clinic in person, if possible, could also provide insights into the environment and the current staffing situation. It is crucial for pet owners to feel confident and comfortable with their choice of veterinary care provider to ensure the health and well-being of their beloved animals.
Given the contrasting information between the general description of services typically offered by a Pet Hospital and the specific negative experiences shared in recent reviews, it is difficult to provide a definitively positive or promotional introduction at this time. The objective information available suggests that while Woodstock Veterinary Clinic is established in the community and likely offers standard veterinary services, recent customer feedback indicates potential areas of concern that prospective clients should carefully consider.

Apr 03, 2025 · Mark Giroux6 years ago the place was great, when Peak Brooke open they took all the good veterinarians and now they are under staffed which results in lapse of judgement. I had my dog go in for surgery to remove a growth on his head and was tested for cancer or anything else. They had the results in but waited 5 days to tell us because it wasn’t a priority. My dog did in-fact had a form of skin cancer and it took me bomb call them for 3 days straight before they actually told me the results, when I got upset with them and told them how unprofessional they are and how we have been having nothing but issues with the lately, instead of trying to right the situation they went ahead and said “well if your not happy with us then find another vet because we will no longer take care of your animals.” We now go to Peak Brooke where they care and aren’t under staffed.
May 02, 2025 · Ethan DesmondI’ve been bringing all my animals to the Woodstock Veterinary Clinic for years. They are extraordinary and treat your animals as if they were their own. I had a cat with many health concerns and they always made the time to see him when necessary. I wouldn’t trust my babies with anyone else! Dr. Pastorello goes above and beyond!
Apr 25, 2022 · Kaitlin ChristianoWe have been going to woodstock vet for years. I can’t recommend them enough. Very caring staff, makes you feel like your pets are being cared for by family! Dr Nielsen Thank you for taking care of Tahoe over the past few months. You were amazing and handled his care with grace and expertise. My family is so thankful for your wonderful care.
Sep 26, 2023 · Tom WelchWhat’s the point in making an appointment if I have to wait over an hour and half just to get my dog seen. Brought our dog here for a check up and they came in to ask a few questions over the course of an hour and a half. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
