First of all, thank you to Dr. Smith and all the staff at Willow Oak Vet. My dog Kami, who would have turned 16 in July, passed away one month ago. She was old, but her condition had been good, so my husband and I never expected her death. We couldn’t believe what had happened to us and to Kami, and we didn’t want to accept that she was dying. Dr. Smith and the Willow Oak staff gave us enough time to think and say goodbye to her—even though it was on a Saturday. Dr. Smith also kept reminding us that we had done our best for her, and that we shouldn’t feel guilty. I believe that one day, Kami will be waiting in front of the rainbow bridge. I truly appreciate everything you all did for us.

May 01, 2025 · Tina CThey’re usually really nice and good here but this last visit rubbed me wrong. I have a rabbit and made an appointment for a nail trim. They offered me 1 and so I came at 1 and the door said closed until 1:30. I have email proof and told them I had been waiting in the car for 30 minutes. they just said oh we have him in for 1:30 and I said well that’s not what I was told. Ridiculous that I’m stressing out my rabbit for another half hour because of their mistake. No apology. Their doctors are great, I even had my rabbit neutered here, but the customer service aspect needs work.
Aug 01, 2024 · Caroline CamittaThe worst part about leaving Durham was leaving our vet behind. Willow Oak helped us with everything with our cats - shots, evaluations, fixing, and odd last-minute visits because somebody ate something they weren’t supposed to. I’ve had other vets that were good - but none that had a staff so friendly, happy to see our cats, and so generous with how little we were charged for their services. I promise - if you’re currently searching for a vet in the Durham area to take great care of your cat - this is the one!
Nov 19, 2024 · Harrison FordI had to bring my bunny Coco in for her first vet visit to get her eye exam. Walked in and the atmosphere was clean, calm and organized. Great service. All of the staff were so kind and helpful! We will be back!
Mar 27, 2024 · Aliyah MooreWe have a fairly needy dog and have moved a lot, so a few experiences with different vets. Willow Oak is sooo reasonable and thoughtful! When there’s a straight forward issue, they’re happy to handle it by phone or email. When he’s sick they suggest reasonable, necessary workups and talk through alternatives but usually err on the side of less. We have absolutely loved their help and feel really comfortable with all the staff.
