Dr. Gebhart saved our horse’s life. After a week at the emergency vet hospital with no improvement and no diagnosis, we were able to have him released to Dr. Gebhart’s care at home. She is attentive, communicative and most of all, collaborative. She worked closely with our trainer who has the most knowledge about our horse’s quirks and what is normal and what is not. Our family can never thank Dr. Gebhart enough for her tireless work to bring our boy back to health.

As a vital part of the Pet Hospital category, Willow Creek Veterinary Service strives to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for your beloved animals. While specific details about the clinic's environment are not explicitly available online, it is reasonable to expect a professional and clean setting designed to ensure the comfort and safety of both patients and their owners. A well-equipped veterinary hospital typically includes examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for various medical procedures, and potentially surgical suites and recovery areas, depending on the scope of services offered. Given their mention of caring for horses, they likely have facilities suitable for large animals, which might include spacious examination areas and safe handling equipment.

The services offered at Willow Creek Veterinary Service appear to be diverse, catering to both general pet care needs and specialized equine care. Based on the available information, their services likely include:

  • General Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups are crucial for maintaining your pet's health, allowing for early detection of potential issues and preventative care such as vaccinations and parasite control.
  • Diagnostic Services: This may include laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, etc.), imaging techniques (such as X-rays), and other tools to accurately diagnose medical conditions.
  • Medical Treatments: Addressing various illnesses and injuries through medication, therapies, and supportive care.
  • Surgical Procedures: Depending on the clinic's capabilities, they may offer a range of surgical services, from routine procedures to more complex operations.
  • Equine Care: The positive review specifically highlights Dr. Gebhart's expertise in saving a horse's life, indicating a strong focus on equine health. This suggests services such as lameness evaluations, colic management, wound care, vaccinations, and potentially on-farm visits for large animals.
  • Emergency Care: While one review expressed dissatisfaction with the emergency response, veterinary clinics often provide urgent care services for critical situations. It's advisable to confirm their specific emergency protocols and availability directly with the clinic.
  • Collaborative Care: The positive review emphasizes Dr. Gebhart's collaborative approach, working closely with the horse's trainer. This suggests a willingness to integrate the owner's and other caregivers' knowledge into the treatment plan, which is a significant benefit.

The features of Willow Creek Veterinary Service, as gleaned from the customer reviews, present a mixed picture:

  • Experienced Veterinarian: Dr. Gebhart is highlighted for her attentiveness, communication skills, collaborative approach, and ultimately, her ability to provide effective treatment, as evidenced by saving a horse's life. This suggests a high level of expertise and dedication.
  • Home Care Capabilities: The ability to provide care at home, as mentioned in the positive review, can be a significant advantage, especially for large animals or situations where transporting the animal is difficult or stressful.
  • Collaborative Approach: Working closely with owners and other caregivers ensures a holistic understanding of the animal's condition and can lead to more tailored and effective treatment plans.
  • Potential Communication and Emergency Response Issues: The negative review raises concerns about delayed callbacks and the perceived lack of urgency in an emergency situation. This is an important point for potential clients to consider and perhaps discuss with the clinic directly to understand their emergency protocols.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available online for Willow Creek Veterinary Service. However, pet hospitals often offer various promotions throughout the year, such as discounts on vaccinations, spay/neuter services, or dental cleanings. It would be beneficial to contact Willow Creek Veterinary Service directly to inquire about any current promotions or special offers for new or existing clients. You might also want to ask about their wellness plans, which can help make routine care more affordable through bundled services and payment options.

In conclusion, Willow Creek Veterinary Service in Medina, Ohio, appears to be a veterinary practice with a notable strength in equine care, demonstrated by a positive customer experience highlighting Dr. Gebhart's expertise and collaborative approach. They likely offer a range of general veterinary services as well. However, a negative review points to potential concerns regarding communication and emergency response times. For local users in Singapore who might have international pet care needs or are interested in the experiences of others, it's essential to weigh both positive and negative feedback. If you are located in the Medina, Ohio area, it would be prudent to contact Willow Creek Veterinary Service directly to discuss your pet's specific needs, inquire about their facilities and emergency protocols, and determine if they are the right fit for you and your animal companion. Remember to always prioritize clear communication and understand the clinic's policies to ensure the best possible care for your pet.

I have used this vet for my 2 horses for a few years now. My one horse wouldn't get up after trying everything I could. I called the vet to have them come look at her. I called with my concerns to be told I would get a call back.... an hour later after her being outside. I finally got a call (also after multiple attempts to cal again) they called to tell me the doctor had no time to come out today..... so I was suppose to let my horse suffer? She had been done for hours at this point. This to me was so wrong. I get you had clients already scheduled. But emergency to me should be priority. Unfortunately she suffered longer than she should have to. I will never be using them for vet services ever again.

I am so glad Dr. G and team are part of my care team. They are all easy to communicate with through email, calls and texts. Very responsive to emergencies and the care is unbeatable. Dr. Gebhart is compassionate but a straight shooter and develops a relationship with all the kids. I am always grateful for the follow up calls after a sick visit and couldn't recommend the practice more.

Fear the thought of having to use any other Veterinarian. Been a customer since they opened and have always received quality care with true compassion. They treat your pet like their own.

They have been the best through all our own horses and the rescues we bring home. Great communication and very accommodating. We use both Dr. G and Dr. Wood and can't say enough good things and the staff is amazing. Been with them now since 2008/9. Can't imagine anyone else touching our animals. Michelle - Grafton
