Avoid all the bad reviews! And read my experience. My name is david and we just took our malamute in. He gave us the worse possible news after drawing blood (at the best possible price in town,) and we have to put our baby to rest. We've had her 13 beautiful years. I dont have kids and shes been my best friend for more then a decade. I'm compelled to write this message even in my hardest times because I was so hesitant on going here because there were poor reviews. He actually saved us alot of money in not doing unnecessary tests. He told us his honest opinion in everything. People are writing bad reviews because they want more sympathy, and I can relate. But my understanding is he is a dr. Who deals with grief im sure multiple times a week, so he has to be strong for him and his patients. He's been a vet for nearly 50 years in tacoma area. Thank you westgate for getting us in same day, and results same day at the best price in town. Your staff was so caring and generous, as we're you dr. To any future patients reading this you will pay double the price anywhere else or close to it. We will be taking our two other dogs here from here in out.

We went to see Dr Walia for Rocky’s vaccination and wellness check. Dr Walia is very kind and gave us clear explanation before giving Rocky the shots. He even gave us a heads up that the microchip needle is a large one so we can have our puppy prepared for it. After the vaccine and a thorough wellness check, he also gave us some useful advice on how to help puppy gain weight, and let us know anything to be aware of Rocky after his vaccination. Rocky and I had a really great experience with Dr Walia!

We are huge fans of Dr. Walia. He has kept our sweet doggie Lucy healthy and active for 12 amazing years. He genuinely cares about our family and our dogs. Our dog got stung by a bee and went into anaphalatic shock. I called Dr. Walia on his personal phone, at his house after hours and he helped me! Thanks to him, our dog is alive. For those of you who are complaining about his bedside manner, you are showing your ignorance. English is his second language. He is a highly skilled professional with many many years of experience. Unlike other vets, he will be there for you when you need him. Your pets will be in very good hands here.

My usual veterinarian at VCA was 2 weeks out si I had to visit this clinic to get blood work and a new pain prescription for my dog. The vet saw my dog for less than 2 minutes and came back 25 minutes later to try and draw blood, not only it took him 3 different tries as he's maybe 70 and can't really see what he's doing he was rude and very harsh with my almost 15 year old German Shepherd who's the sweetest girl you can imagine. He wanted to run 200 extra dollars worth of tests which I declined and they all came back normal. I asked for the prescriptions and he was forcing me to get a month worth of the 75 mg Carprofen from them at $150.00 and when I declined and told him I get them from Costco he proceeded to say he would only prescribe them for 3 months and that she had to come back before he'd prescribed them again................. My dog has been on this medication for 6 years and her usual vet only sees her once a year for that specific reason with other visits for vaccines, bath or health issues if any arise. I tried explaining this to him and he started yelling literally yelling at me and I tried explaining him and telling him he didn't need to be disrespectful and to stop yelling to which he said I don't care you don't come back you figure out. Him and his wife are both rude and disrespectful who think everyone that comes thru their doors are ignorant as he himself said. The two receptionists to whom I apologized for his behavior and explained them I was not trying to be rude to them as he left me standing while he saw 2 other animals without handing me a prescription as I was waiting for blood work for over 45 minutes and had been at that place for almost 3 2.5 hours. Do your self and specially your dogs a favor and go somewhere else, there is a reason why other animal clinics have a 2 week waiting period and this one doesn't and if its an urgent or emergency issue go to VCA pacific hospital.

Terrible customer service with this so called Dr. Walia. He will not listen to what your concerns are. He cropped my dogs ears and kept saying they look even . Then he agreed to them being uneven , but for him you can’t really tell only if you look at them. How can I not look at her she’s my dog. He proceeded to say he dosnt like working with “people like me”. Not sure exactly what he ment? You mean you only like patients, who are submissive and won’t react to the poorly job you have done? I have recorded our conversations because of how rude he is and won’t let you speak. I did take her back to get it fixed and all he kept saying is “if I cut her ears you’re not going to be happy it could end up shorter than the other”. He said this at least 5 times. well that’s very reassuring you obviously shouldn’t be cropping ears if you’re not comfortable with it. Left my puppy , but then went to get her before he botched her again. Do yourself a favor and don’t make the same mistake we did. These others reviews on cropping ears are very accurate make sure you read them all🫣 We will look for a different place to fix her ears and will absolutely never refer anyone here and will be exposing them on other social media’s because “people like me” will post on TikTok where the word travels a lot quicker. To bad I didn’t record him rolling his eyes at me like a child who dosnt like to hear when they are in the wrong.
