I've been coming here for as long as they've been here I think at least 13 years or more. I've always had multiple cats, and they've taken care of each of them, from spading, vaccinations, ear infections, and thyroid issues to putting some down, etc. They have always treated my cats and me in a very friendly empathetic manner. The prices are reasonable. ❤️ Thank you so much for all your caring!

Welcome to Western Animal Hospital

Welcome to Western Animal Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 1726 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90006, USA. As a local Pet Hospital, Western Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. With a history spanning over a decade, they have served the community with various medical and preventative services for pets.

Information regarding the specific environment of Western Animal Hospital is somewhat limited in the provided reviews. One long-term customer, who has been visiting for at least 13 years, does not describe the clinic's ambiance. In contrast, the negative review focuses on the interaction with a specific doctor rather than the physical environment. Therefore, an objective description of the clinic's atmosphere, cleanliness, or facilities cannot be definitively constructed from the given text. To gain a better understanding of the hospital's environment, it may be necessary to visit the location or consult other online resources if available.

Based on the positive review from a long-term client who has owned multiple cats, Western Animal Hospital offers a range of veterinary services. These include:

  • Spaying/Neutering: A routine surgical procedure to prevent unwanted litters and offer health benefits.
  • Vaccinations: Essential for protecting pets from various infectious diseases.
  • Treatment of Infections: Addressing conditions such as ear infections.
  • Management of Chronic Diseases: Caring for pets with long-term conditions like thyroid issues.
  • Euthanasia: Providing compassionate end-of-life care when necessary.

This suggests that Western Animal Hospital is equipped to handle both routine and more complex health needs of pets. However, a contrasting review presents a less favorable experience with one of the doctors, who was perceived as unfriendly and not thorough in a basic check-up. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the perceived quality of care or bedside manner among the veterinary staff.

Features of Western Animal Hospital, as gleaned from the positive review, include their long-standing presence in the community, suggesting experience and continuity of care. The reviewer also noted the friendly and empathetic manner in which they and their pets were treated, as well as reasonable prices. These aspects would be considered positive features for pet owners seeking veterinary care.

However, the negative review points out a potential drawback: the perceived unfriendly demeanor and lack of hands-on examination by at least one of the doctors. This suggests that while some staff members are well-regarded, experiences may vary depending on the specific veterinarian encountered.

There is no promotional information explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Pet hospitals sometimes offer discounts for new patients, seasonal promotions, or package deals for certain services. To find out if Western Animal Hospital has any current promotions, it would be best to contact them directly.

You can reach Western Animal Hospital by phone at (323) 733-2500 or mobile phone at +1 323-733-2500. Their address is 1726 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90006, USA. If you are in the Los Angeles area looking for a Pet Hospital, Western Animal Hospital has been serving the community for a significant time and offers a range of services. However, it is worth noting the mixed feedback regarding the friendliness and approach of the veterinary staff.

In conclusion, Western Animal Hospital in Los Angeles has been providing veterinary care for many years, offering services from routine check-ups to managing chronic conditions and end-of-life care. While one long-term customer praises their friendly and empathetic service and reasonable prices, another recent experience highlights concerns about the demeanor and thoroughness of at least one doctor. If you are considering Western Animal Hospital for your pet's needs, you may wish to inquire about the veterinarians on staff and perhaps seek more recent reviews to get a broader perspective on the current quality of care provided. You can contact them at (323) 733-2500 for more information.

Dr isn't friendly at all. I went in for a check up for my dog DJ and she just stood there looking at him with out even touching him. How can she being a Dr evaluate her or with out even laying hands on him. Her assistants are more hands on than her. She seems to always have an attitude. I got sue won't be going there again

My boyfriend had his dog put down and they charge you EXTRA just to be in the room to watch them administer the sleeping shot. They also strapped his dog down like a pig before he was leaving. She was already in bad shape so it’s not like she was going to run or get fussy; absolutely insane that they felt that was necessary. It’s obvious they have no remorse for animals at all. My boyfriend didn’t even get to watch his childhood dog pass away. Please don’t come here if you love your animals.

Awful experience. Dr Kim does not care about your pets. I came in the office because my puppy kept licking his lips and had a cut on his lip. Dr. Kim didn’t touch my dog at all. She made me open my dogs mouth and hold his chin so she could briefly look at the area. She then recommended a 250 allergy shot. I declined because I wanted to get a second opinion and she just walked out of the room without saying anything.. not even a goodbye. Office staff were very unprofessional. I asked if they had Apple Pay. They declined and said i needed to show my actual card. Then they proceeded to pull out a device that clearly has tap/Apple Pay on it. I paid $60 for a 3 minute “exam”. It was not an exam it was awful. I felt like she didn’t care about my dog.

I highly recommend this animal hospital. My dog was in danger of going blind due to cherry eye, but Dr. Kim performed the surgery skillfully, and now my dog is healthy and the cherry eye symptoms have completely disappeared. It's as if I'm seeing a different dog. My dog and I are very happy. The staff is also very friendly, honest, and, above all, the price is better compared to other places, so l'm very glad to have discovered this place!!!!!!!
