Tried to charge us $1300 to neuter our 25lb dog then the vet tech literally laughed at me when I said that was an absurd price. We found a new vet much nicer, only cost $350 total for the procedure, find someone else they don't care about you or your pet just the money. Invoice posted, blood work was separate $150 I don't have a photo of that one

West Towne Veterinary Center Introduce

Welcome to West Towne Veterinary Center, a Pet Hospital located at 6605 Mineral Point Rd, Madison, WI 53705, USA. As a local provider of veterinary care, West Towne Veterinary Center aims to serve the pet health needs of the Madison community. This introduction will provide an overview of the potential environment, services, and features of the clinic, drawing information from the provided customer reviews to offer a balanced perspective for local users.

As a Pet Hospital, West Towne Veterinary Center likely provides a range of services focused on maintaining and improving the health of your animal companions. The environment of the clinic would typically include a reception area for check-in and appointment scheduling, examination rooms where veterinarians can assess your pet's health, and potentially other specialized areas depending on the services offered. These could include a surgical suite for procedures, a dental care area, and possibly in-house diagnostic equipment such as X-ray and ultrasound machines, as well as a laboratory for processing tests.

Based on the limited information available, West Towne Veterinary Center appears to offer both medical and grooming services. One customer review specifically mentions taking their Shiba Inu for a bath and brush, indicating that grooming is a service provided. The positive experience highlighted the reasonable price of $55 for this service, the effectiveness of the groomer in removing a significant amount of fur, and the dog's relaxed demeanor after the appointment. The added touch of a feather collar clip suggests attention to detail in their grooming services.

In terms of medical services, the review mentioning a quote of $1300 for neutering a 25lb dog indicates that surgical procedures such as neutering are likely offered at West Towne Veterinary Center. However, this review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the quoted price, describing it as "absurd" and noting that a different veterinarian charged a total of $350 for the same procedure. The reviewer also mentioned a separate $150 charge for blood work associated with the neutering, although a photo of that invoice was not provided. This feedback suggests that while neutering is a service available, the pricing may be a point of concern for some pet owners.

Generally, as a Pet Hospital, West Towne Veterinary Center would be expected to offer a range of standard veterinary services. These typically include preventative care such as annual wellness examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's species and lifestyle, and parasite control for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Nutritional counseling and weight management advice are also often part of preventative care.

Diagnostic services are also crucial in a Pet Hospital setting. West Towne Veterinary Center likely offers diagnostic capabilities, which may include in-house laboratory testing for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams, as well as imaging services like X-rays to help diagnose various medical conditions. The mention of blood work being separate from the neutering cost suggests that they do have the ability to perform these diagnostic tests.

In addition to routine care and diagnostics, West Towne Veterinary Center would likely provide medical treatment for illnesses and injuries. This would involve veterinarians assessing your pet's condition, prescribing medications, and administering treatments as needed. Depending on the expertise of the veterinarians and the facilities available, they may also handle more complex medical cases.

Surgical services, as indicated by the neutering quote, are likely offered. Beyond routine procedures like spaying and neutering, a Pet Hospital may also perform other soft tissue surgeries. The level of surgical services can vary between clinics based on the specialization of the veterinarians and the equipment available.

Dental care is another important aspect of pet health, and West Towne Veterinary Center may offer dental services such as professional cleanings under anesthesia, as well as treatment for dental diseases. Information on the scope of their dental services is not available in the provided reviews.

Based on the limited reviews, it's challenging to pinpoint specific features of West Towne Veterinary Center beyond offering grooming and medical/surgical services. The positive grooming review suggests a skilled groomer and a comfortable experience for the pet. However, the negative feedback regarding the neutering cost and the perceived lack of empathy from a vet tech presents a contrasting view of the clinic's pricing and customer service in that particular instance.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. It is common for Pet Hospitals to offer various promotions throughout the year, such as discounts on wellness packages, seasonal specials, or offers for new clients. To learn about any current promotions at West Towne Veterinary Center, it would be best to contact them directly at (608) 828-3737 or +1 608-828-3737. You may also find information on their website or social media channels, if they have a presence.

In conclusion, West Towne Veterinary Center in Madison, WI, is a Pet Hospital that offers a range of services, including grooming and medical care encompassing diagnostics and surgery such as neutering. The customer reviews provide mixed feedback, with a positive experience highlighted for grooming services and significant concern raised regarding the cost of a neutering procedure and the associated customer service in that instance. Local users are encouraged to consider these perspectives and potentially contact West Towne Veterinary Center directly to inquire about their services, pricing, and any current promotions to make an informed decision about their pet's care.

I took my dog here for grooming and had a great experience. It was $55 for a bath and brush (shiba inu) which is very reasonable. The groomer was able to get a ton of fur off my dog. Most importantly, my dog did not seem stressed when I picked her up and was very happy when we got home. She even got a cute feather collar clip! We will be back!

I have kenneled our cat on several occasions and he has been taken care of very well. He loves it there! When we ask him if he wants to go to the “condo”, he knows and perks up!!!❤️❤️❤️🐈‍⬛❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Words cannot describe how much I depend on my little toy poodle as my Service Animal. He is literally a lifesaver. The past 6 months have been a nightmare of him inexplicably and suddenly yelping in pain with no indication of what's causing it. It rips my heart out of my chest every time I know he's hurting and I can't figure out how to fix it! Add to that the thousands I've spent at veterinarians trying to diagnose and treat the issue. UNTIL I got referred to West Towne. They had a handle on the problem almost immediately. They didn't waste my time or money with a "wait and see" attitude. They actually took him in the NEXT DAY, put him under and found a severely decayed spot where he'd previously had some teeth removed. It was almost like he had a pea-sized bit of sharp gravel stuck in his mouth that was infected! No wonder he was sick! They excised the bit of matter and he's already his playful self again! They weren't the least expensive vet I ever went to, but THEY GOT IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! I'd recommend them for anything, but their specialty in dental care is superlative. SIX STARS for West Towne Veterinary Center!

Received excellent care for my dog from all staff members. I was well educated on my dog’s health and choices to make. After making decisions everyone there partaken in my dog’s plan of care. I received reminders when my dog needed any health maintenance and quotes on cost of any care that was provided. There are no issues to getting referrals to UW specialty veterinary services. This facility also has grooming and boarding services as well that I have utilized with no issues.
