This was my Vet for years. It went downhill when Dr.Bailey left and new Vets were brought in. The front desk was always amazing to me as well as Dr. Lee HOWEVER. My pet was scheduled for surgery and I was incredibly sick with COVID and Bronchitis, Dr's note proving it. I called to cancel and was told "there MAY be a cancellation charge" At my next visit they tried charging me $500! I never signed anything agreeing to this nor was I ever told the fee would be so high. I could barely get out of bed much less care for my dog who was having hip surgery. I was then BLOCKED from the app and had no access to any of my pets medical records. Then I was turned into collections. Incredibly unprofessional by a Vet I saw for years and spent thousands having my pets treated. I had to ask 3 times for my pets records and to this day I still don't have all of them. They withheld the over $700 X-rays I paid for and told my current Vet I still owe them $500. Don't ever get sick if you go here. They'll bad mouth you and turn you into collections, block you from the app and treat you like trash. What a shame.

Welcome to West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort

Welcome to West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort, your local pet care facility located at 5687 NC-211, West End, NC 27376, USA. As a combined Pet Hospital and Pet Resort, we aim to serve the community by providing comprehensive services for your beloved animals, from medical care to boarding. You can reach us at (910) 673-3103 or our mobile number +1 910-673-3103. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort appear to vary, with some clients praising their responsiveness and care, while others have reported negative experiences.

One recent reviewer expressed a positive experience, noting that they switched to West Pine due to the "smaller size vet facility, friendly & professional staff & ability to schedule an appointment within a day or two," which was a significant improvement over the longer wait times at other places for routine needs like allergy shots. This client reported "great experiences with general check ups and prescription refills," indicating satisfaction with their standard veterinary services.

Another very positive review highlighted their responsiveness in an urgent situation: "Today confirmed why my pets & I belong at West Pine. Made a phone call about my dog having severe cut, staff told me to come in immediately and they would squeeze me in between appointments. I was there no more than 15 minutes before my dog was seen, evaluated and treated. Dr. Raines took the time to explain everything, go over prescriptions and answer my questions. I am beyond impressed with West Pine!" This testimonial praises the prompt attention in an emergency, the efficiency of care, and the thorough communication from Dr. Raines.

However, a contrasting and concerning review details a very negative experience from a long-term client. This reviewer stated that their positive experience declined after Dr. Bailey left and new vets joined. While they acknowledged that the front desk and Dr. Lee were always great, they recounted being charged a $500 cancellation fee for a surgery that had to be postponed due to the owner being severely ill with COVID and Bronchitis (with a doctor's note). The reviewer claims they were not informed of such a high fee beforehand and had not signed any agreement for it. Following this, they allege being blocked from the app, losing access to their pets' medical records, and being turned over to collections. They also mentioned having to repeatedly request their pets' records, still not having all of them (including paid-for X-rays), and their current vet being told they still owe $500. This review paints a picture of significant issues with communication, billing, and customer service in this particular instance.

Given the dual nature of "Animal Hospital and Pet Resort," the environment likely includes both clinical facilities for medical care and separate areas for boarding pets. A typical animal hospital section would include examination rooms, possibly surgical suites, and areas for diagnostics and treatment. The "Pet Resort" aspect suggests facilities for housing and caring for pets during boarding, which might include kennels, play areas, and grooming services.

Based on the reviews and the name of the facility, the services offered at West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort likely include:

  • General Veterinary Services: Including check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment of illnesses.
  • Surgery: As indicated by the mention of a scheduled hip surgery.
  • Prescription Refills: For ongoing medical needs.
  • Emergency Care: Evidenced by their willingness to "squeeze in" a pet with a severe cut.
  • Pet Resort/Boarding: Facilities for housing pets when owners are away.
  • Potentially Grooming: Often associated with pet resorts, though not explicitly mentioned in the reviews.

The features of West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort appear to be:

  • Combined Veterinary and Boarding Services: Offering convenience for pet owners needing both medical care and boarding.
  • Friendly and Professional Staff: Highlighted in one positive review.
  • Timely Appointments: Ability to schedule appointments quickly for routine needs.
  • Responsiveness in Emergencies: Willingness to accommodate urgent cases promptly.
  • Experienced Veterinarians: Including Dr. Lee and Dr. Raines, with differing reported experiences.

The conflicting reviews make it challenging to present a uniformly positive picture. While some clients have experienced efficient, friendly, and responsive care, another long-term client reported significant issues with billing, communication, and access to medical records. This suggests that while many aspects of their service may be commendable, there have been instances of considerable dissatisfaction.

There is no promotional information provided in the text. To learn about any current specials or services offered at their pet resort, it would be best to contact West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort directly.

In conclusion, West Pine Animal Hospital and Pet Resort in West End, NC, offers a combination of veterinary medical services and pet boarding. Reviews indicate generally positive experiences with appointment scheduling, staff friendliness (particularly the front desk and Dr. Lee), and responsiveness in emergencies (as seen with Dr. Raines). However, a concerning account details significant issues with billing practices, communication regarding fees, and customer service following a surgery cancellation due to illness. Potential clients may want to consider these varying experiences when deciding on a veterinary provider. I recently switched to West Pine because of the smaller size vet facility, friendly & professional staff & ability to schedule an appointment within a day or two - not having to wait 2 weeks for an allergy shot like other places. We have had great experiences with general check ups and prescription refills. Today confirmed why my pets & I belong at West Pine. Made a phone call about my dog having severe cut, staff told me to come in immediately and they would squeeze me in between appointments. My two dogs love going here for day care. The excitement they have every time we pull in cracks me up. Just friendly and well taken care of.

West Pine has always been a great place for or family member! We never feel rushed or have questions go unanswered by staff. Dana at the front desk has been a staple for years always friendly and on top of medication refills or appointment requests. Linda, Vet Tech has a passion for her patients. Only suggestion is they are so busy the practice building could be doubled to accommodate more patients. As our community has grown in population so has the need for a larger space. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!!

Had a good new patient visit for my dog Copper. He was so nervous but they got him in quickly and updated all his medications. They even give a complimentary vet exam for the first visit. Linda, the vet tech was especially kind to him and helped him adjust to a new environment he was super nervous in. Really grateful for her help. Thank you!!!
