Dr. Bartel and Ashley and Donnie are the best! Found them by location alone, never strayed. Saved my dogs and cats a lot of pain and stress over the years, with an oral surgery, a hysterectomy, vaccinations and general care.

WARNING: West Hills Animal Hospital is *not* open on Thursdays (or Sundays). Hours are 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. as of July 12th, 2012. Saturday hours vary slightly... Otherwise, Dr. Bartel is very friendly and personable. Definitely a confident vet who knows his stuff. Like other vets/doctors though, his handwriting is terrible. Overall, this is a very good place to take your pet. It's usually not too busy either.

Very kind and caring team who helped us in home when we (suddenly) had to put our cat to sleep. I have been indifferent to all previous vets (they were fine but nothing special) but Brian just radiates warmth and positivism. I would recommend them ABSOLUTELY 100%.

Dr. Bartel took care of our dog Loki for many years. When we had to go on trips we would leave them there for lodging and the staff took really good care of him. Unlike most dogs when they smell a vet's office they want to go running back into the car. Not so with Loki he loved it there. When Loki was 15 years old and he started having seizures I took him in to see dr. Bartel because I knew if there was anything to be done for him he would do it. But look he had outlived his natural lifespan largely due to the efforts of dr. Bartel. When he was put down I was allowed to be in the room with him and comfort him dr. Bartel and the staff were compassionate and understanding. I was with Loki until his body went cold and I will never forget leaving him there and the condolences that I received from the staff. I live in southern Oregon now and I've yet to find a veterinarian that cares as much for animals does dr. Bartel does.
