I’d give 100 stars if I could. I was on vacation with my family and had to bring my bunny with me, we tried for weeks to get Truffles to a vet but no one near us was taking new patients or cared after rabbits. He was suffering and would have died at home alone and I would never have wanted that for him, after calling another dozen or so vets in the Rochester area they were the only ones willing to help us put our bunny to rest. The vet and her staff were all so kind and compassionate and made a difficult time “easy” to get through. I’m just glad I got to be there for him in his end. Thank you again for your help!

---
As a "Pet Hospital," Webster Veterinary Clinic's environment is designed to accommodate various medical needs of animals while striving to create a comfortable setting for both pets and their owners. While specific details on the decor or layout aren't provided, a typical veterinary clinic prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This would include:
- A reception area where clients check in, ideally designed to manage the flow of different species to minimize stress.
- Examination rooms where pets are assessed by the veterinarian. These are typically private, well-lit spaces equipped for physical examinations.
- Areas for diagnostics such as laboratory tests and imaging equipment (X-ray, ultrasound), essential for accurate diagnosis.
- A treatment area for minor procedures, preparing for surgery, and administering medications.
- A surgical suite for sterile procedures, equipped with anesthesia and monitoring tools.
- Kennel or recovery areas for hospitalized pets or those recovering from procedures, where they can be closely monitored.
The human element of the environment is crucial. As evidenced by reviews, when staff members are described as "kind and compassionate," it significantly contributes to a supportive and empathetic atmosphere, especially during difficult times for pet owners. The clinic's ability to accommodate a wide range of animals, including exotic pets like rabbits, suggests a versatile and adaptable environment.

Webster Veterinary Clinic offers a range of veterinary services typical of a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," catering to the general health and specific needs of various animal species. These services aim to provide preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic care:
- General Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the foundation of their services, including routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccination programs, and parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal worms). This proactive approach helps in detecting and preventing health issues early.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose conditions, they would offer various diagnostic tools. This typically includes:
- In-house laboratory testing: For rapid results on blood work (e.g., complete blood counts, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal analysis.
- Radiology (X-rays): Essential for visualizing bones, internal organs, and detecting foreign bodies.
- Other diagnostics: Potentially including ultrasound or specialized tests as needed.
- Medical Treatment: Diagnosis and management of a wide array of acute illnesses (e.g., infections, gastrointestinal upset) and chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, kidney disease, allergies). This includes prescribing medications and developing long-term treatment plans.
- Surgical Services: The clinic likely performs routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as various soft tissue surgeries. They would employ modern anesthetic protocols and monitoring for patient safety.
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services, including professional cleanings (scaling and polishing), dental extractions, and potentially digital dental X-rays, crucial for overall pet health.
- Pain Management: Strategies for managing both acute and chronic pain, ensuring pets are comfortable during recovery from surgery or while living with ongoing conditions.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for pets based on their life stage, breed, activity level, and any specific medical conditions.
- Microchipping: Offering permanent identification for pets, which is invaluable for reunification if a pet becomes lost.
- Exotic Pet Care: Notably, as indicated by a review about a bunny, the clinic seems to provide care for certain exotic pets, which is a specialized service not offered by all general veterinary practices. This would involve specific knowledge of their unique physiological and medical needs.
- Euthanasia and End-of-Life Care: As highlighted in a poignant review, the clinic provides compassionate end-of-life services, supporting pet owners through the difficult decision of euthanasia and ensuring a peaceful passing for their beloved companions. This demonstrates a deep level of empathy and understanding.
---
Several features characterize Webster Veterinary Clinic, both positive and areas where client experience may vary:
- Compassionate End-of-Life Care: A significant distinguishing feature is their highly praised compassionate approach during euthanasia. The review specifically mentions the vet and staff being "so kind and compassionate" and making "a difficult time “easy” to get through." This speaks to their empathy and understanding during highly sensitive moments for pet owners.
- Accommodation of Exotic Pets: Their willingness to assist with a rabbit, particularly when other clinics were not, highlights a valuable specialization in exotic animal care, which is a crucial service for owners of non-traditional pets.
- Staff Kindness (as observed in specific interactions): Positive feedback points to staff who are kind and understanding, which is vital for a positive client experience.
- Communication and Scheduling Challenges (as observed in specific interactions): Conversely, one review indicates significant issues with appointment scheduling, waiting times, and communication. The lack of text confirmation, reliance on a single voicemail with a tight deadline, and extended wait times suggest potential operational inefficiencies or communication breakdowns that can negatively impact client satisfaction and trust. The owner's response to the review further underscores a discrepancy in perceived communication attempts.
- Commitment to Helping in Urgent Situations (for exotic pets): The clinic's willingness to help with a suffering rabbit when others wouldn't is a strong indicator of their commitment to animal welfare, even if it's an emergency case for a non-traditional pet.

While specific broad promotional information (such as advertised discounts or loyalty programs) for Webster Veterinary Clinic isn't detailed, veterinary clinics typically engage in various methods to attract and retain clients:

- New Patient Offers: Discounts on initial exams to encourage new client acquisition.
- Wellness Plans: Packaged preventative care services offered at a reduced rate.
- Referral Programs: Incentives for existing clients who refer new ones.

Customer reviews for Webster Veterinary Clinic present a stark contrast, offering both glowing praise and significant criticism, which directly reflects the clinic's service quality and client experience.
One review gives an incredibly high commendation, stating, "I’d give 100 stars if I could." This client describes a desperate search for a vet willing to assist with their suffering bunny while on vacation, and how Webster Veterinary Clinic was the only one willing to help with euthanasia. The reviewer notes, "The vet and her staff were all so kind and compassionate and made a difficult time “easy” to get through. I’m just glad I got to be there for him in his end. Thank you again for your help!" This testimonial powerfully showcases the clinic's profound empathy, ability to provide critical care for exotic pets, and the positive impact they had during a pet owner's most vulnerable moment.
Conversely, another review is highly critical, stating, "This place is badly run." The client details issues with significant waiting times ("waited 30 minutes past the appointment time only to be told that it would be another 15 minutes"), leading them to leave and reschedule. Further, the reviewer expresses frustration over communication regarding appointment confirmations: "Today I got a voicemail from Megan at 3:24 pm stating I had to confirm my appointment for tomorrow BY 5PM today or they would “most likely need to reschedule.”...They demanded I call them back between 3:24 pm and 5 pm while I was at work to prevent me from losing the appointment. This is ridiculous." The client also refutes the owner's claim of multiple contact attempts, asserting they received "ONE voicemail at 3:24 pm on a Friday, when I was working, telling me I had to respond by 5 pm that SAME day or the appointment may be rescheduled. I stand by my review. This place is badly run." This review highlights significant concerns about operational efficiency, communication protocols, and respect for clients' time.
In summary, Webster Veterinary Clinic operates as a "Pet Hospital" providing a range of veterinary services, with a notable strength in offering compassionate end-of-life care and catering to exotic pets like rabbits. While some clients experience exceptional kindness and vital assistance during difficult times, others face considerable challenges with scheduling, wait times, and communication, suggesting inconsistencies in operational management. Prospective clients should consider these varied experiences when evaluating their options for pet care in Webster, NY.

Sep 30, 2024 · Nicole FamaThis place is badly run. The last time I was there with my dog, I waited 30 minutes past the appointment time only to be told that it would be another 15 minutes. I left and rescheduled. Today I got a voicemail from Megan at 3:24 pm stating I had to confirm my appointment for tomorrow BY 5PM today or they would “most likely need to reschedule.” I was working and I happened to have time to check my personal VM but if I hadn’t I would have lost an appointment I made months ago. They demanded I call them back between 3:24 pm and 5 pm while I was at work to prevent me from losing the appointment. This is ridiculous. Edited to respond to the owner - I did not get a text. There were NO numerous attempts to contact me. I received ONE voicemail at 3:24 pm on a Friday, when I was working, telling me I had to respond by 5 pm that SAME day or the appointment may be rescheduled. I stand by my review. This place is badly run.
Mar 01, 2025 · Anu ChathampallyI am a new client who was switching after a bad prior vet experience. I was nervous about the switch, and in the middle of making the switch my older cat started acting ill. Everyone I spoke to at this office have been amazing. So nice, compassionate, and worked with me to get my cat's new patient visit moved up to see my cat. I cannot thank them enough. My visit was with Dr. Lewis who was incredible. Just great with my cat and listening to my concerns. She has helped get my cat's health back on track. I genuinely cannot express how grateful I am to be a new client at this office. I am so appreciative to have had it recommended and so relieved to have my kitty as a patient there.
Mar 05, 2024 · Ryan ElizabethExcellent service with no wait time. Doctor Lewis is friendly, informative and takes the time to answer all questions. Bella, Kaspurr and Fisher say " HELLO" and "THANK YOU" Dr Lewis and Staff
Jan 19, 2017 · Lauren JeanDr. Sementa and his staff are truly the best. Their level of care, compassion and willingness to go the extra mile for your pet is wonderful. Dr. Sementa is the reason my 14.5 year old Yorkie (with a liver shunt) has lived such a full life. I am forever grateful to him for always giving me the best medical advice for my dogs and cats.
