I called and made an appointment due to their website not having the options I needed even though it was very in depth. I was able to get an appointment the next day with alot of time options that worked for me. Brought my dog in for shots and a blood test, all of which was done quickly and kindly by the wonderful staff. I always recommend this clinic when asked.

Welcome to Waverly Animal Hospital Boarding Grooming & Wellness Center

Welcome to Waverly Animal Hospital Boarding Grooming & Wellness Center, a comprehensive pet hospital located at 233 S Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI 48917, USA. Serving the local community, Waverly Animal Hospital offers a wide array of services beyond just traditional veterinary care, encompassing boarding, grooming, and wellness programs to cater to the diverse needs of your beloved pets. Understanding that your animal companions require more than just medical attention, Waverly Animal Hospital strives to be a one-stop destination for their overall health and well-being.

As a full-fledged pet hospital, Waverly Animal Hospital provides a complete range of veterinary services to ensure your pet's health needs are met. This includes routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, and preventative care, which are essential for maintaining your pet's long-term health and preventing potential illnesses. The positive review mentioning quick and kind service for shots and a blood test indicates efficiency and a caring approach during routine procedures. Regular check-ups allow the veterinary team to monitor your pet's health, detect any early signs of illness, and provide tailored advice on nutrition and lifestyle.

Beyond routine care, Waverly Animal Hospital offers diagnostic services to accurately assess your pet's health concerns. While the specific diagnostic capabilities are not detailed, a comprehensive pet hospital typically provides in-house laboratory services for quick analysis of blood work, urine, and fecal samples. They may also have imaging technologies such as digital radiography (X-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of internal conditions and injuries. These tools are crucial for understanding the underlying causes of illness and developing effective treatment plans.

For pets requiring surgical intervention, Waverly Animal Hospital likely offers a range of surgical procedures. This would typically include routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as more complex soft tissue surgeries to address various medical conditions. The mention of an "excellent" veterinarian in a customer review suggests a high level of surgical skill and a commitment to providing quality surgical care. Ensuring the safety and comfort of your pet during surgery is paramount, and reputable veterinary hospitals adhere to strict anesthesia protocols and utilize modern monitoring equipment.

A significant feature of Waverly Animal Hospital is its additional services, including boarding and grooming. The availability of boarding facilities provides a convenient and safe environment for your pet when you need to travel. A comfortable and supervised boarding experience can alleviate stress for both you and your pet. Grooming services, on the other hand, contribute to your pet's hygiene and overall well-being, helping to maintain healthy skin and coat. The combination of medical, boarding, and grooming services in one location offers convenience and continuity of care for pet owners.

The inclusion of a "Wellness Center" in their name suggests a proactive approach to pet health. This may encompass services such as nutritional counseling, weight management programs, dental care, and potentially alternative therapies. A focus on wellness indicates a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle for your pet and addressing their individual needs beyond just treating illnesses.

One customer review praised the helpfulness of the staff and the ease of scheduling an appointment, even with specific needs not directly available online. The ability to secure a next-day appointment with flexible time options demonstrates a commitment to accommodating clients' schedules and addressing their pet's needs promptly. This responsiveness is a significant advantage for pet owners seeking timely care.

However, another review raised a concern regarding the desk staff's curt and unfriendly demeanor, as well as a lack of clear communication about a 3% credit card processing fee, especially during an emergency visit. This feedback highlights an area where the hospital could improve its client communication and customer service at the front desk. Clear and transparent communication about fees and payment options is crucial for building trust and ensuring a positive experience for pet owners, particularly during stressful times like emergency visits.

Despite the negative feedback regarding the front desk staff, the positive comments about the excellent veterinarian and the caring staff who worked directly with the pet are significant. The quality of medical care and the compassion shown towards animals are primary concerns for pet owners. The positive experiences in these areas suggest that Waverly Animal Hospital has skilled and caring professionals dedicated to the health and well-being of their patients.

For local users in Lansing, MI, Waverly Animal Hospital Boarding Grooming & Wellness Center offers a comprehensive range of services for their pets, from medical care to boarding and grooming. The convenience of having these services in one location, coupled with the reported excellent veterinary care and helpfulness of some staff members, makes it a viable option for pet owners. However, it is advisable for new clients to be mindful of the potential for a credit card processing fee and to ensure clear communication with the front desk staff regarding payment policies and any other concerns. Contacting Waverly Animal Hospital directly at (517) 323-4156 or +1 517-323-4156 can provide more detailed information about their services, hours, and any current promotions they may be offering. Visiting the facility may also help in assessing the environment and overall atmosphere of the hospital.

The veterinarian was excellent, and the staff working with my dog were also. The staff at the desk were curt and unfriendly. We paid with a credit card and complained about the 3% that was added to the bill. She never told us that if we used a debit card, 3% wouldn't be added. Thus, we were charged. It wasn't posted, and this was an emergency visit. Of course, we weren't thinking as clearly. The information would have been appreciated.

Absolutely horrible. I made an appointment to put my 15 year old dog to sleep. I was there an hour and 15 minutes and left with my dog. Such a difficult decision to make very emotional & I was booked for a wellness exam. Such a nightmare and the emotional pain and trauma. I had been there before and had a good experience. Not this time. I can't ever go back there again.

Sadly the quality of staff here has gone down over the years. And I unfortunately cannot get past the repulsive smell in the breezeway that continues into the animal hospital, of stale pee. I discovered they sold to hartland veterinary corporation in 2024 and this was the cherry on top for me unfortunately deciding to take my dogs and business elsewhere. My animals are my family not a number for a corporation to make money off of.

We’ve been coming here for years, ever since we’ve moved to Lansing. This is without a doubt the best vets office we’ve ever been to! Everyone here is absolutely lovely. Our cat, Charlie, has a plethora of health issues and on top of it all, is an absolute nightmare at the vet. No exaggeration, he’s been dismissed from other places in the past or they’ve simply told us it’s a liability to treat him. Not here; they just strap a little muzzle on him and get to work. You know, like, doing their jobs. Often with a smile and a joke about how ridiculous he is. We also have an axolotl that we’ve taken in before and the exotic vet they have has helped us recently with an issue she was having. They are very communicative and knowledgeable. Could not recommend them more!
