The environment at Waupaca Small Animal Hospital, as observed through various customer experiences, generally conveys a feeling of welcome and professionalism. Many positive reviews praise the staff and doctors for being caring, patient, kind, and understanding, indicating a supportive atmosphere for both pets and their owners. The clinic aims to provide high-quality care with an emphasis on education, suggesting an environment where clients feel informed and empowered in their pet's health journey. However, it's also important to acknowledge that like any business, individual experiences can vary, and challenges in customer service can sometimes arise, as indicated by a particular review regarding pricing transparency and front-desk interaction.
The services provided by Waupaca Small Animal Hospital are extensive, covering numerous aspects of small animal healthcare. These include a strong emphasis on preventative care through comprehensive physical exams, vaccinations, and vaccine counseling. They offer wellness profiling with discounted bloodwork screening for healthy pets, promoting early detection of diseases. For diagnostic needs, the hospital is well-equipped with in-house laboratory services for pre-anesthetic and comprehensive bloodwork, along with Digital DR Radiographs (X-rays), including OFA certification services. Ultrasound is also available in-clinic for further diagnostic exploration. Their surgical capabilities are robust, offering general surgery including neuters, spays, and exploratory procedures, with the use of a surgery laser offered for all general surgeries and standard for specialized surgeries, which can reduce pain and promote faster healing. They provide thorough dentistry services, including cleaning, polishing, extractions, and periodontal treatments, recognizing the importance of oral health to overall well-being. Additionally, they offer Cold Laser Therapy, a non-invasive treatment to reduce pain, inflammation, and speed healing. A complete pharmacy is available on-site, along with HomeAgain microchips for pet identification. The clinic also collaborates with Vets First Choice for an online pharmacy, allowing clients to order medications, food, and other products conveniently.
Several key features distinguish Waupaca Small Animal Hospital. Firstly, their responsiveness to emergencies is highly praised; one customer noted that they took their dog in an emergency "no questions asked even though I wasn’t currently a client and had no appointment," showcasing their dedication to critical care and community service. This willingness to go above and beyond for urgent cases, even for non-clients, highlights a deep commitment to animal welfare. Secondly, the clinic boasts a team of experienced and compassionate veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians. Dr. John Meshigaud (a 1992 UW graduate), Dr. Brandon Trzebiatowski (a 2015 UW graduate with an interest in feline care), and Dr. Shari Hanneman (a 2001 UW graduate with interests in preventative care, behavior, dentistry, and avian medicine) contribute to the clinic's broad expertise. The staff is consistently described as "caring, patient, kind, and very understanding," demonstrating a strong focus on client and patient comfort. Thirdly, their investment in advanced medical technology, including ultrasound, digital radiology, in-house lab, and laser therapy, ensures that pets receive modern and effective treatments. Lastly, the clinic's long-standing presence and commitment to the Waupaca area, as noted by clients who have used their services for a decade or more, speaks to their established reputation and consistent quality of care.
In terms of promotional information, Waupaca Small Animal Hospital leverages several strategies, both explicit and implicit. They accept pet insurance for unexpected accidents and illnesses and work with treatment financing solutions like CareCredit, offering financial flexibility to clients. They have also partnered with Vets First Choice for an online pharmacy, adding convenience for medication and food purchases. Their website details a comprehensive list of services, transparently informing potential clients about their capabilities. However, the most compelling promotion comes from their positive client testimonials that highlight their responsiveness in emergencies and the overall quality of care. The story of admitting a dog in an emergency without prior client status serves as powerful word-of-mouth advertising, showcasing their commitment to care over immediate profit. While a recent customer review noted a significant price increase for a specific service (nail trims) and a challenging interaction with a front-end manager regarding transparency and customer service, it's important to consider this feedback in the context of the overall positive sentiment and the clinic's long-standing good reputation. Such feedback can, however, impact customer loyalty and future promotional efforts if not addressed. Despite this, the clinic's core appeal lies in its dedication to advanced medical care, a compassionate and skilled team, and its proven ability to handle urgent situations, making them a valuable and trusted resource for pet owners in Waupaca.

Great people, they took my dog in an emergency no questions asked even though I wasn’t currently a client and had no appointment. They were very responsive and caring. Thank you!
Apr 23, 2025 · Alex BrehmerI’ve been using this clinic for almost 10 years! I have always been extremely Happy But today makes a very sad day for this clinic. After speaking with Colleen the front end manager I am almost certain I will be looking elsewhere. I have two under 15lb dogs that I’ve always taking to have their nails trimmed here. They put Muzzles on them and it takes less than 5 minutes a dog. Today it cost me almost $55 to have them done. Usually I pay less than $26 for both of them. When calling to inquire about The heavy increase she pretty Much told me the owners decided the time to do nail for difficult dogs was not worth the effort and was taking time away from other customers! Hello what the hell am I? And difficult! You can cruse them both with your hands! I’ve spent thousands at this clinic to now be told they are doing this to have us take out dogs to a groomer! Hell no… my Dogs are very nervous so the fewer people dealing with them in this traumatic Experience the better for them. I get an increase because of inflation but over 50% is absurd! More importantly not being told of the increase is down right dirty. She tells me their rates go up every year the first of the year! I guess I never noticed because they were not over 50%! Then I asked for an owner to call Me back and she tells me she can’t guarantee they will. When I question her about that she tells me she isn’t gong to continue to get yelled at for a decision she didn’t make and hangs up on me! Boy am I very disappointed! It’s your job to deal with upset customers and if you don’t give a crap about how I feel then how are you truly treating my animals! I can only hope the owners re-elevator their decision to literally push customers out the front door! More importantly your managers attitude!
Feb 15, 2024 · Christina SpencerJust excellent in every way. All of the doctors are wonderful, the staff is outgoing, friendly and efficient. They are sympathetic and caring when you lose a furry family member. Your pet isn't just a customer to them, they truly care. I can't recommend them enough. They are 12 star experience.
Apr 19, 2024 · Teri VanDamPoor doggie was chasing out a rabbit from under a wood pile and some how got an infection on her muzzle. Called up as soon as they opened and was able to get an immediate appointment right away in the morning. Vet was professional and curteous. Fees were under what in was expecting. Deffinatley will take her back in a pinch.
