I really hate to do this but I really don’t recommend going here for anything more than a basic checkup. If you currently think your pet has something wrong with them, I suggest finding somewhere else. Took my cat in for extreme lethargy, throwing up many times a day, loss of bladder control and a few other symptoms. They diagnosed her with gingivitis. Got antibiotics, which granted made her gingivitis better, but what they failed to address was the fact that my cat apparently has stage 3 kidney failure. They didn’t so much as take her temperature. THEY DID HOWEVER DO A URINE SAMPLE which should have been enough to hint at kidney failure. Obviously being a vet is a very different form of medical care, as a vets patients do not have the ability to say “I’m hurting right here”. A vet has to guess, based on information provided by the owner and the symptoms they can see in the animal. That is EXACTLY why I don’t recommend this place. They’re the ones who should be able to recognize this life ending condition my pet has, and they could not. The vet I took my cat to noticed the issue immediately. After describing a few symptoms they said “your cat probably has kidney failure, let’s run some tests”. Lo and behold it was correct, and that vet is the only reason my cat is still alive, and has a positive outlook for getting her kidney failure down to a stage 2. If you are concerned your animal might have a Legitimate issue at the moment, take them to a legit animal emergency room. Not here. You will waste your time and your pet might die like mine almost did.

As a category of Pet Hospital, Washington Veterinary Clinic is positioned to offer a variety of services typically associated with animal healthcare. These services generally include routine check-ups, vaccinations, preventative care, and the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries. Pet hospitals play a crucial role in maintaining the health and well-being of pets, offering a place where owners can seek professional medical attention for their animals.
Based on available information, including reviews from pet owners, it's important for local users to have a comprehensive understanding of what to expect from Washington Veterinary Clinic. One review highlights a concerning experience where a pet owner brought their cat in with symptoms of extreme lethargy, vomiting, and loss of bladder control. The initial diagnosis was gingivitis, and while antibiotics improved that condition, the reviewer states that the clinic allegedly failed to diagnose the cat's stage 3 kidney failure, despite conducting a urine sample which the reviewer believes should have indicated the issue. The reviewer contrasts this experience with another veterinary practice that immediately suspected kidney failure based on the symptoms and subsequently confirmed it with tests. This feedback raises concerns about the thoroughness of diagnostic procedures for complex or critical conditions at Washington Veterinary Clinic.
However, it is also important to acknowledge a positive aspect mentioned in the reviews. One customer specifically appreciates the care provided by a "doctor Wickham," describing her as an "excellent person to take care of animals." This suggests that there may be individual practitioners within the clinic who are highly regarded for their compassionate and skilled approach to animal care.
When considering veterinary care for your pet, factors such as the clinic's environment, the range of services offered, and the overall approach to patient care are crucial. While specific details about the clinic's facilities and environment are not provided in the given information, a typical pet hospital strives to create a clean and comfortable space for animals and their owners. The negative review, however, brings to light potential concerns about the accuracy and thoroughness of their diagnostic capabilities, particularly for more complex or critical conditions.
Features that might distinguish a pet hospital could include specialized equipment, the expertise of the veterinary staff in specific areas of animal medicine, or a particular focus on certain types of pets. Without further information, it is difficult to ascertain any unique features of Washington Veterinary Clinic. Mar 13, 2025 · Jacqueline FuhsI love Dr. Wickham. I've been a client of this vet clinic since 2004, before Dr. Wickham took over, I live about an hour away but I feel it's worth the drive. I'm in the clinic yearly for my pets' exams and Dr. Wickham is awesome with all my show dogs.
